Massage pressure was great. Felt the focus on my back was perfect. Maybe would have spent a little less time on legs and more on scalp massage at the end. I also really appreciate places that intentionally tell u to take ur time getting dressed and leaving the room. You get so relaxed after the massage- it's so tough to jump up and get dressed and go out into the real world . I wasn't told to hurry up or anything like that but I wasn't told to intentionally take my time either. Overall though- was a positive experience and I feel much much better today. Moses is a fantastic masseuse. Great listener--he paid attention to my concerns with neck and TMJ pain and worked incredibly hard to get my knotted shoulders and back and jaw to loosen. He was a professional, kind and calming presence throughout the 90 minutes. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I had a terrible time trying to make an appointment. I called, got vm telling me that their text system would contact me. Sure enough, by the time I hung up, I had a text asking what I needed, how fabulous is that? I asked if there were any appointments available today (Thursday) I was told that there was an opening at 1pm (this all happened around 1050). I said I'd take it and they asked for my email and full name, which I sent. They asked if I had a coupon, I said only a military ID (their website says they offer a military discount). So I thought I was set for 1pm. About 20 min later, I got a text saying that since they never received a confirmation, they did not make a booking for me. They never sent me an email, so I have no idea what "confirmation" they were talking about. Bottom line is that within the space of 75 minutes, I went from having an appointment to not having one, to being told that their next available opening is on Monday. This is unbelievably frustrating and I will find somewhere else. They have great ratings, but not being able to talk to a human being over the phone to book an appointment sucks. read more

I just had a prenatal massage with Lizzy for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! They had a special pregnancy cushion so I was able to lay on my stomach comfortably! I had heard good things about massage hope and after speaking to the receptionist I was sold. I saw Joanna, who I had actually seen 2 years ago at another massage studio and I was extremely impressed to hear that she remembered so much about my body and where my pain resided. I am a lifter and coming off neck surgery, so it was important to me not just get a massage, but a therapeutic one that could delve into my problem areas. Ron was fantastic in this capacity and even used some techniques which, in my 20+ years of getting massages, I've never had done. He was able to get into the knots underneath my shoulder blades, find a few issues deep in my delts and I even felt some fascia release. On a sidebar, knowing it wasn't a spa, I did somewhat expect a sterile or medicinal environment. That wasn't the case. The colors were calming, decor was lovely and reception was very kind. Even running my phone down to the parking lot after we had left it in the waiting room. Typically I promise myself to continue with regular massages but never do. I'll start out by saying I generally don't like massages. Weird, I know, but I don't. But I needed one badly for my shoulder and neck. As a former soccer player myself, I chose Karlee, and at the risk of now limiting my future appointment options, I highly recommend her. But I'm sure anyone there would be great as it seems to be a very well run place that cares about the service it provides. The office is simple, clean, inviting and relaxing. The therapeutic massage was just that. Karlee was adept at focusing on the most problematic spots and adapting the overall massage to maximize the focal benefit as well as overall relaxation. The massage therapists and services here are great. However, giving 2 stars due to the extremely rude receptionist. My husband and I have been here several times and her attitude has been super negative each time (snide comments, rolling her eyes when asking to use the restroom prior to a massage, etc). I had never been here before, but I went today to use a GC I received for Christmas from my son and it was wonderful. The 60-minute massage is 60 minutes hands-on, they schedule a 30-minute buffer between clients so I never felt rushed. The waiting room was clean and inviting. Danita took me right on time. Her hands were strong, smooth, and offered the perfect amount of pressure. I took advantage of the complimentary consultation over the phone before making my appointment and we went over many of my problem areas (scoliosis, shoulder replacement, carpal tunnel, ...) She answered all my pre-massage questions as well as the ones I thought of during the massage. The light in the massage room was dim and soothing. My skin is usually very dry and she used a generous amount of lotion throughout so that there was never any tugging or pulling on my skin. I loved the heated table and she even turned up the heat when I asked. It is a little pricier than the places I usually go ($130 for 60-min), but definitely worth it. read more

My husband and I went and both experienced similar massages from two different people. Historically I've been receiving monthly massages for upwards of 20 years. I've had massages in four states by many providers. Virginia as a whole is LACKING is good therapists that are professional, therapeutic AND enjoyable. This "spa" is no different. HOWVER, when asked about "technique" the therapist said, "I don't really have a technique, I read. A lot". That would explain the massages we got... they were both a massage were the therapists used as little contact as possible. A lot of pushing with fists and fingers tips and "rubbing back and forth"... but relaxing and enjoyable it was not. In Fact. My therapist never massages my BACK in a 90 minute massage. I did however learn he doesn't really care about his patients after they leave his "office". This was a TON of money $350.00 for 2- 90 minute massages in which we both left feeling like we didn't have a massage. HINT for a therapist... if my skin is cold at the end of a massage... you've done a piss poor job. I have no formal training and could do a much better job. read more
