I have been going to this place since it opened several years ago. At that time the staff were friendly and had good customer service. In the past 2 years maybe, under the new owner, this place has gone downhill. But I still went for whatever reason. I was there 2 months ago and that has been my last visit. One of the ladies working on a pedicure started talking about what food she hates the most to her client. She said she hates Indian food because it smells. Up until then I was fine. I am Indian by origin and everyone has their own preference. There are some foods I dont like. No big deal. The problem was that she didn't stop there. She went on to say how Indian people smell, their clothes smell, their house smells. It got to the point of being borderline racist. She would have happily kept going if it wasnt for the lady (who was also the owner) working on my pedicure say something to her in their language that made her suddenly stop and glance at me. After that she giggled and continued on with her work not saying anything more. I felt very uncomfortable and decided this is definately not the place for me anymore. In addition the owner who worked on my pedicure only applied 1 layer of nail polish and no top coat. It seemed she would prefer to spend her time working on manicures. I came into VA Beaty spa after reading the wonderful reviews. I called within minutes of them opening and was greeted so kindly. I went in and met Tammy who did the best job on my nails, ever!! It was my first day off in nine days and it was so relaxing but I didn't want to leave. So as we finish up with my nails I asked if I could have a deluxe pedicure and Tammy quickly set me up to transition into a pedicure. Hands-down the absolute best pedicure I have ever had. I didn't feel rushed and I was so relaxed that I even wanted to doze off. The lady messaged my legs and feet for what felt like hours. 5/5 stars doesn't do this place justice! I will be returning and this is my new place to pamper myself! I can't wait to go back next week. They also have a reward system, where you can receive 15% off after 6 (I think) visits. They do some of the best acrylic sets around, I have never been dissatisfied leaving and have never regretted giving a gracious tip because of how wonderful they are. I have never tried their massages or waxing services but I have no doubt they are as great as the manicure/pedicure service. All of the nail techs do great quality of work and are always very sweet. This was my first visit to this nail place and I'm happy to report that it was a fantastic experience! I'm not super regular about keeping my nails together; I used to do it all myself back when I had the much sought after "loads of free time". (My mom even taught me how to do nail designs.) I decided to try and find a place that wouldn't be haul for the random (or special event) nail-pampering. I showed up a tad too early for my appointment; but made sure to let them know that I didn't mind waiting. They went ahead a got started on me right away. My appointment was for a gel mani and a spa pedi. Overall the atmosphere was very welcoming and in no way do you feel like anyone is gossiping about your or any of the other customers. (Speaking of customers, it seemed like there were quite a few regulars in, a good sign!) They were all very nice and sweet to everyone. #sidebar - This place, has BY FAR the best massage chairs of any of the nail places I have been to. I like chairs that can beat the heck out of you if you need them to and I happened to have a tension headache and the chair totally kneaded it right out of me. Yay! Tom was my stylist and he was great! Just the right amount of conversation where you didn't feel awkward that some stranger was about to get all down with your feet; but not so much that you felt exhausted trying to keep up with small talk. Tom also gave probably one of the best foot/leg massages _ever_; which was great because I had just come rushing from an early morning vinyasa yoga class and totally needed it. None of that rushed, five minutes of barely any pressure; in fact, I think he got some knots out of my calves. Bonus! The actual pedi itself was perfect, my toes look great and I didn't feel at all uncomfortable or in pain at any point in the process. (No accidental deep cuticle cuts here!) The mani was great as well. I like how they keep the UV dryers underneath the table so they're out of the way; and you're not doing anything strange with your hands to keep them accessible to the stylist and drying at the same time. (No "spreading your wings" here; or hand/dryer stacking.) To sum it up, my nails turned out great and I love the colors and quality. I will definitely be back - highly recommended! read more

Disappointed that salons like these continue to act like customer service doesn't matter. Jen the owner seemed to get an attitude whenever I told her to shave my nails width down and as you can see when I told her my nails were cloudy and in person it's more noticeable she said nothing. Took my hand and put clear gel on like two of fingers (obviously it's cloudy on more than those). She then told me the total. I paid and as I said my nails are cloudy she had someone standing behind me waiting to get in my seat. Customer service matters and the next time yo I can visibly see your work isn't good offer to do it better or offer a gift certificate. It is holiday season and I have to walk around with my nails looking like this because I only A lot two hours to waste on my nails! I have better things to do than sit in a nail salon but would have appreciated good customer service when you obviously made a mistake. Oh and forgot to mention there's excess acrylic under my nails and wasn't shaved off. read more

Va Beauty Spa has done very well, with the new owner (Jenny) the place is very relaxing and well put together. The service is amazing and they're very respectful. Every time I go my nails get better and better! Jenny does a beautiful job on doing my acrylics and you can tell she enjoys doing her job. After calling to make an appointment and then waiting 20 mins after arrival to be seen, I should have known better and just left. I sat for 3 hours for a simple gel pedicure, fill with coffin shape, and 2 designs. I left with the gel pedicure, slanted almond shape, and no designs. This is all mainly because my nail tech doesn't understand English and no one was available to help translate the discussion. $78 dollars later and I'm more than disappointed in the time and money I wasted with this salon. Had a great pedicure here at least a month ago. The reason I'm writing now is because my pedicure is still in great condition! A small chip here and there but I'm very satisfied with how well it lasted and looks! The paraffin wax is included with the regular pedicure. Do NOT GO HERE FOR DIP! They have no idea what they're doing. The first time I got dip I got it here, they put acrylic on my nails and dip over it, and then I complained that it wasn't shiny so they put a coat of gel UV polish over it and I had to dry in the UV light... Completely defeating the purpose of the dip. If you want good dip, go to Belmont Nail Spa. Got them done here the other day and the process was completely different plus no acrylic which I actually prefer because of acrylic damaging nails so bad. Don't waste your money here. read more

I called a day ahead and made an appointment for 4 for mani/pedis, came at the time they said they could take all of us. They did not have enough people to work on even half of us at once. Because they were overbooked they rushed through pedis for two of us, They didn't tend to me until an hour after I arrived and then started the pedicure for the 4th person 30 minutes later. Basically dedicated one person to four of us and then one other woman worked around her to help with foot massages and to take off nail polish. During our appointments they started helping other people who came in instead of finishing our manicures. The color coats were not evenly applied, they did not use top coat and made my cuticles bleed as well. Nearly 4 hours at the salon for subpar work. Extremely unimpressed! read more

Pedicure gets 5 stars, customer service during check out gets ONE. I got a text offering 10% off my visit since it was my birthday month. When I went to check out the lady who was in charge at the time told me that the coupon had expired. I told her no, it says here I can use it any time during the whole month. She kept telling me that I could not use it. I pointed to the IPad they have at the desk. I told her it says you will get a special offer during your birthday. She did not believe me and took a picture of the text message. Talk about making your customers feel uncomfortable. I was ready to tell her to keep her stupid discount but she unwillingly gave me the 10% off. I tipped the girl who did my nails and left. Ok so this is the first time I actually tried this nail salon. I got one of my girlfriends a gift card there previously and raved about it. Not sure if I just didn't get the girl who specializes in acrylic nails but she seemed kind of new at it. I have gotten acrylic multiple times before. First she over glued the fake nail then she tried to pull my skin back so hard that she ripped the corners of my nail. (Photo) then she kept trying to file it while it was bleeding until I told her please don't make it worse! Then when she applied the gel she put such a thick glob on it so I asked her to file the corners more since it looked like and over size nail at this point. Then she got a little bit of an attitude and told me that was the thinnest that she can go then she proceeds to file the ends (which didn't need to be filed down that much). At the end of it all I got a expectation vs reality out come with my nail... my nails are differently shaped and lengths.... epic fail.... but I still bad bc of the Coronavirus and tipped her $10 for $60 nail cost. She also asked me to Venmo her??????? Btw the lady didn't take my temp when I walked in... please make sure that your staff or taking the Coronavirus procedures seriously! I understand the new process but now is when your staff should be more careful!....all in all def not going back. read more

Sad that my friends and I have to find a new salon. As a long-time customer, I expected better service. After receiving a gel manicure that started chipping after two days, and was a hot mess of chipage after a week and a half, I was told that I should have called and/or come in after a couple of days. No apologies, which honestly was all I was expecting. I didn't really expect a free redo, but I was basically made to feel that the bad polish job was my fault. This was my first visit to VA Beauty Spa today. All the ladies that were working today were super sweet and even though I only had one technician there were two or three others that said hello to me and asked me how I was doing. That was great :D! Downside.....my technician did a regular manicure for me with my choice of Essie nail color. She had to do three coats because the color was not applied evenly :/. Also, She left a lot of pink polish around the edges and on my skin. Overall my manicure looks sloppy and rushed even though she really did take her time doing it. I don't want to say her name because she was VERY sweet. I will eventually go back. I haven't written the place off or anything lol. I will just stay out of there for a while!!! read more

I HATE getting my nails done. I don't like my hands because I have sausage-like fingers, and I hate sitting still for more than 20 minutes. But Steven makes it a pleasure- he does such a beautiful job shaping my nails so they look natural. the spa is always clean and is very pretty inside, and everyone is so nice. Steven gets it done in under an hour and gives me a beautiful full set of gel nails that last without lift or cracking. Will not go any place else for my nails- thank you Steven!! read more

First time at this salon, Nina recently started here and she is THE BEST at gel manicures. She goes all the way down to the cuticle and my gel lasts 3 weeks no chipping. My normal eyebrow threading spot was unexpectedly closed today so I called here and asked if they did threading, price, and if they could take me today. They said yes, $10, and yes. Perfect, so decided to go. Well, I literally walked in the door and said I needed my eyebrows threaded and they took me right back which was great. And I was very surprised when I laid down and she started putting wax on my brows.... at that point it was too late so I just said please don't make them too thin. So then she did the 4 strips of wax, plucked like one hair, and told me I was done. I was shocked since waxing always seems to take longer than that so I was pretty hopeful that they looked good. But, they did not. They are tinier than I could've ever imagined. I'm so embarrassed by the way they look, and of course I have a wedding to go to tomorrow. I won't be going back, and I really wouldn't suggest this place for eyebrows unless you need something quick and don't care if they're pencil thin. read more
