She's been raving about this place since she started working out here so I decided to join her for a Saturday morning workout. On our way there, I was a bit anxious because I can't do CrossFit due to injuries. Previous gyms I have been to had always been pretty judgmental - "why would you come to a CrossFit gym if you don't do CrossFit?" "Oh.. so do you even workout?" - but this place is different. From the second I walked in, I knew I was going to like it. All of the coaches I met (Katie, Ryan, Bill, and Michael) were super friendly and greeted me right away. I told them I wasn't going to do the scheduled workout and they walked me around and showed me the equipment and which area was best to do my own thing. They had all of the equipment I needed (bikes, ergs/rowers, free weights, barbells, bands, etc.) and I had an awesome workout! If you're looking for treadmills and ellipticals, this isn't the place for you. But, if you want an awesome community and a fun place to workout, definitely check them out!

Katie (sp?) was an attentive coach and led us through a pretty thoughtful warm-up complex, and then I was then internally marveling at all the new equipment and soon enough breaking a sweat. I appreciate when coaches are constantly providing cues and feedback on form, pushing members a bit more, etc. you're getting the workout you want and the guidance you require. quick shower available (clever restroom signage), and I was on my way.

Every other PF and their HQ have refused pleas to turn them off. HQ passes the buck. The local gyms and franchise owners pass it back. This gym owns what they air. When I complimenetd the staff they simply said "this is suppose to be a relaxing place". Yeah!! They actually understand their role. Now, I hate the new equipment; the recumbent bikes are uncomfortable; seats hard as rocks, back support even harder. Was miserable. They have no arc or elliptical machines, replaced by some ridiculous thing that really sucks. They do have treadmills but no one should ever use a treadmill as they are awful for you. The gym is clean, a big win.

I had done Orangetheory before coming here, so it reminded me a lot of that but minus the rowing machines. You spend the class alternating between treadmill and weightlifting intervals. The classes are very high energy, with music blasting and instructors pumping you up the entire session. It is very fast paced, but doesn't take too long to get adjusted to. Man, my body FELT it after the first visit!! But I really feel like these workouts are a great challenge and never have you leaving feeling like you didn't do enough. The staff here are nice and it is very clean. Plenty of space for everyone's items, too. I can't wait to keep coming back for more!

I enjoy the variety of classes offered & the opportunity to do my own workouts in the gym. After joining you are able to pick your code to use at the door key pad for 24/7 gym access. Flex Appeal uses the MindBody app to book classes at their gym. They offer Yoga, TRX, Spinning, Boot Camp, Killer Abs & Pound. I attend all my classes at the Germantown studio because it is so close to my house. I really enjoy the beginner yoga class Monday nights with Erin. Erin makes class easy with step by step instructions... put your foot & hand here. I personally love when I come & she has decided to do fascia work. I also attend the beginner boot camp classes on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. The beginner boot camp classes are typically small & I still leave in a sweat. If I'm free I like to kick start my Saturday mornings with the Killer Abs class. The Killer Abs class definitely hurts so good... I always question why I got out of bed to go but leave feeling accomplished. I have been working with Ken in personal training sessions. Ken is always changing up what we do weekly. I like that I can just show up to the gym & have him tell me what to do for 1 hour. He has helped me gain my confidence to go the gym & do an entire workout on my own. There have been several times when I have worked out at the Flex Appeal gym & had the entire gym to myself. Thank you to Erin & Ken for teaching great classes that I always enjoy. Finding a gym to do barbell work is a challenge wherever I travel…read more Louisville is no exception. The few I could find had hours that didn't work for me, or they never returned my request for information. Flex Appeal is different. It is small but mighty. For me, it is the weight lifter's gym I needed. You will not find lots of machines cluttering up the space. It's not crowded. You will find barbells, weights, dumbells, cages, a couple of cable machines, row machines, and some treadmills, among other things. The gym also offers personal training and classes. The staff are responsive, super friendly. They gave me a fantastic rate for the week. I like the inclusive language on the door welcoming everyone. That's not essential in a gym, but it resonates deeply with me! If you are serious about weight training, this gym is for you. I will return here whenever I travel to Louisville.
