Seven Lakes High School is a large public school, serving beautiful, upper middle class neighborhoods of Seven Meadows, Cinco Ranch and Grand Lakes, among others, in the western suburbs of Houston. Seven Lakes was rated "Recognized" by the TEA in 2011. The parents take a lot of interest and pride and help make this school a safe and enjoyable place for children to learn. The average SAT scores, percentage of National Merit Scholars and GT kids etc at the school exceed State averages. However, rapid expansion of the suburbs has caused some congestion. The number of students attending the school, exceeds the original design for the building. The school rating has also fallen in 2011 from Exemplary to Recognized. My advice is, do not expect counselors and teachers to advise and counsel your children on selecting the right courses to meet career objectives etc. It might look like a country club, but at heart it is just a free public school, with overworked teachers and staff. read more
