Very disappointing, we were looking to rehome a cat after the sudden passing of one of our brother and sister pair, katz castle seemed like the perfect place to find a new pal, they have an impressive website and lots of cats!
i emailed the proprietors about coming down to see them in regard to rehoming, who said it would be fine to arrive any time without appointment between 11-1 and 2-4 to meet the residents.
HOWEVER when doing so at 2pm the next day after travelling 40mins there, we were locked outside for a good 15/20 mins with no-one answering the phone, when someone finally did let us in, we were promptly rudely addressed with an 'am i expecting you?!!' From one of the staff, then to be told the lady who dealt with rehoming was away, we wouldnt be able to see any cats (which upset my 3yr old son who had been very excited to meet the cats on the way up) and to fill out a form, after being practically left alone after this point we filled the form and promptly left feeling uncomfortable,
Two days later i had a phonecall from one of the staff when i was leaving for work, i asked if she wouldnt mind ringing the landline to speak to my husband as i was literally walking out the door, where she said no stating it was only a very short call to say she had scoped out our residence without prior notive to us , and kept stressing repeatedly (and rather rudely) that there was 'no way, definitely not ever, absolutely no way not at all'etc any chance we'd have one of their cats because of a nearby road, and that was it! Which i found rather upsetting! Especially as we have a lovely garden where my cat lives hapilly and healthilly
Dealing with them has been a waste of time and unpleasant! So just to warn anyone turning up unnannounced dont do it! Cats protection have been much better organised friendly (polite!!) and approachable so would recommend any kitty rehomers to go to them instead!! X read more
