My wife and I had an amazing time at the Kauai Kunana Dairy. Ryan was great at answering any questions and was very informative. The entire property was beautiful and well taken care of. One can easily tell that the farm is very near and dear to the family. We loved being able to spend time with the goats, feeding them treats and watching them enjoy the pasture. Our favorite part was tasting the fresh cheeses , pesto and fresh cut / squeezed fruit. We would highly recommend the farm tour for all age groups and folks interested on how a goat farm runs. read more

Even with all the rain we had, it was a great time. So much fun holding the baby goats and feeding the big ones. I really have to say the final touch is tasting the cheese that they made. Had a lovely morning touring the farm and learning about the goats and various fruits. Who knew that there was a fruit called soursop and that it tasted so good?! Love that this is a family run business. All the chevre flavors were delicious so we had to get some of each! Also bought some jars of the delicious mac nut pesto to enjoy a yummy pasta dinner on our last day of our trip. Definitely recommend for all ages - we went with our group of college-aged kids and they had a great time. read more

My wife and I ordered from Kunana Dairy Farm during quarantine and the owner delivered to us herself. We were feasting on the best greens, homemade Macnut Pesto, gluten free pumpkin bread, etc. Our produce box contained: Chard, kale, lettuce, beet and beet greens, 2 mangos, an avocado, 6 small eggplants, a kai choy, 6 zesty limes, and some okra....we were blown away. We look forward to ordering some more and picking up directly from the farm, so we can see first hand the operation. We will have to wait a few more days but soon we will be released from Aloha State Penitentiary's mandatory isolation chamber set up adjacent to the heavenly realm on Kauai's north shoe. Note: There is only a $5.00 delivery for orders over 50.00. A friend from work suggested this tour and my husband and I had a great time! My least favorite part was the mushy ground (it had just rained) and the CRAZY high humidity...but it isn't like the dairy farm controls the weather and I get that. So moving on to my favorite parts....THE GOATS! Man they were cute! And they even make those funny little bleating noises that we've all heard on the screaming goat videos (admit it, you've watched those videos and laughed too! And if you haven't, please crawl out from underneath the rock you've been living under!) OK...back to the review (lol)! It was informative and interactive. We learned about the trees, the farm and how the goat's milk is processed and made into cheese (which is really cool!) They also make and sell a variety of different items like goat cheese (duh!), olive oils, vinaigrette, and shampoo & conditioner made from goat's milk. Grab a small bottle of each if you want really soft hair! But again, my favorite part of the whole tour were the goats. I fed them big long leaves and one even gave me a kiss....which was the highlight of my day! If you have 2 hours to spare and you want to do something a little different, this is a cool tour! What are the odds. My wife was snorkeling in Po'ipu and I saw a familiar face. We ended up figuring out that she volunteered with me 18 years ago and it turns out she now works at this dairy. She gave us a nice tour and we got to meet the goats. We then met her at the Kauai Community College Farmers' market and sampled all of the wonderful goat cheeses - it was impossible to pick but I selected the artichoke which was heavenly. But so was the lilikoi. We also got some honey and some goat body products - shampoo, soap, etc. YUM! read more

Goat cheese = incredible. We picked some up at the farmers market, sat down with a loaf of bread, and finished the entire container of their Lilikoi Goat Cheese in one easy sitting. We've also tried their chives & garlic which was equally good. Would be great in any dish, salad, pizza, sandwich, etc. Happy goats make great cheese! read more

We've been enjoying their cheeses and soaps since 2007... they are also offering delicious juices and honey now too. We did the tour last time we visited and it was very fun & informative. This is a wonderful, off the beaten path thing to do on Kauai. You start out with some light refreshments, and then get to meet lots of dairy goats, many of whom love to be petted. You also get to feed them banana leaves! Ryan, the host, fills you in on raising goats, making goat cheese, bee keeping, and the many fruit trees and herbs on his property. At the end, you get to sample various cheeses, and buy some if you like. They also make soaps and lotions . It may be a little long for some children, but the ones in our tour of 12 people did fine. We were at the farmers' market at Kauai Community College this morning. We had already bought papayas, tangerines, limes and a pineapple, which Alan was taking back to the car, while I kept walking, when all of a sudden I saw a bag of rambutan, which brought me into the stall. I grabbed the bag and then saw that this was the goat cheese stall I remembered from our last trip to this market 3 years ago. The helpful young woman offered me tastes, asking whether I preferred sweet or savory. The answer, 'savory' got me a taste of the marinated herb cheese, which I'd had and loved last time. She also gave me a taste of their gorgonzola, which was very good. I didn't taste the artichoke or the sun dried tomato, both of which sound delicious. If they're at the Koloa Monday farmers' market we may get one of those too. It is so, so good! read more

This was an informative two hours. As an adult I learned a lot about how many types of goats there are, how many stomachs they have and why, what the goats eat, etc. There were several trees and we tasted leaves,fresh honey, and learned about the benefits some of the trees provide. Ryan was wonderful and full of good information, and patient with the children allowing them plenty of time with the chickens and goats. We booked for the 1:00 PM tour because it states on their website this tour is more child friendly. The 1:00 PM tour was cancelled so we were moved to the 9:00 AM tour. I think this tour is a little too long for kids and the plant, tree, and other notable parts of the tour that I enjoyed as an adult is too much for young kids. It would have been more interesting for the kids if they could see a goat being milked, although they don't make milk, maybe to have tiny cups like the one they squeezed juice into from one of the fruits on the tree and have goat milk for the kids to taste. Physical examples of foods made with what's being described, maybe show the kids a white and brown egg when discussing the chickens. The same for the trees, maybe to have a macadamia nut to eat or a store example of Allspice so the kids better understand the connection to what they eat and how it grows or is made. They did have some examples of the oils and lotions made from the trees, and honey from the bees, but the examples they had were for products they sell. Kids and some adults are visual and anything they can see, hold, smell, or taste, to connect to what kids can recognize holds their attention better and helps them remember what they learned. I would recommend this tour, but for the 1:00 PM tour if you have children under ten. read more

We were driving towards the airport from the North side of Kauai and saw a sign on the side of the road that read "Goat Dairy." We're cheese lovers, so had to take the quick detour. A few signs and turns later and we were heading down a dirt road, going by pastures with happy looking goats running around. The small outbuilding from the owners house has been converted to a very clean dairy/laboratory looking room, where the husband let us taste about 7 different cheeses: a chevre, a feta, and many flavored chevres. All delicious. We took some home with us on the plane. Stop by and get some, and look for it at restaurants. Hopefully they succeed and start shipping some here to CA. read more

Best cheese! Bought a bunch of the soaps when we were there in Nov as stocking stuffers and just ordered more. Hair conditioner is best I have ever used. Also, granola is fabulous. Don't miss the tour. Great fun and tasty treats. Interesting and worth the $ and drive. read more

We visited this dairy farm in early March- there weren't too much fruits ripe at that time of the year but there were a lot of baby goats for my two year old to hold and pet. Let me just say that I fell in love with the two-week old critters- they're super cuddley and heart fleetingly tender. The history and the tour of the family farm itself was not remarkable. At $35 per person, it's a little pricey but considering the fact that we could have spent much more on other activities we would have enjoyed before my son was born, it's a good diversion if the water conditions are not safe. Young boy toddlers will definitely struggle out of boredom during the 2-3 hour tour. read more

Did the tour kinda pricey, but I guess that's one of the ways that small organic farms like this can stay in business. Ryan, the owner's son ad his wife gave us the tour and it was very educational. We got to spend quality time with the goats and see their luxurious accommodations. We saw about 20 different types of fruit trees they have on the property and sampled many of them. The goat cheeses were all great. This is a much smaller operation than surfing goat, but a much longer an more educational tour. read more

I brought my granddaughters for a birthday gift and they totally enjoyed holding and playing with the baby goats. The cheese was fantastic! Ryan is very good at explaining the workings of the farm in an easy to understand manner. Loved the farm tour! Jojo the cat is the best greeter and the baby goats are precious. Nice walk around the farm learning about the goats, veg and fruit. Tasting all the different goat cheese options and trying out the lotions really helped us choose what we wanted. My wife and I went to Kauai for vacation. Based on a recommendation from a friend of ours, we booked a tour at the amazing Kauai Kunana Dairy. This place has been family owned and operated since 1979. They're a micro farm in terms of goat cheese and goat cheese products, but they also grow various types of produce (and the have honey bees too). We fed the goats at the beginning then proceeded to tour the farm. I was impressed by how synergistic the farm is. Everything seems like it's haphazardly placed or planted, but everything there serves a purpose and it's usually to support something else on the farm. They're knowledge wasn't over my head. They made everything easy to understand. They have about 100 goats (babies are around in the spring) and one buck. Each goat has a name and they respond when you call them. And sampling! We got to sample some great cheese and bought some to bring back to the hotel. We had such a great time on this tour. Do yourself a favor and check it out when you visit. read more

The farm was beautiful, and this was a family friendly activity. Sarah's bread tasting was delicious and the kids had a blast feeding the goats at the beginning of the tour. We came in April and many fruits were not yet ripe, so we were told about a bunch of delicious sounding new fruits but we weren't able to try most of them. My kids were so excited to hold baby goats but there were not any babies in April. We did see puppies but they did not let the kids hold them which was a bit disappointing. Seeing how the cheese is made was very interesting, but I think that the farmers should have milked a goat for us. The farmers made a big deal of saying how they milk all their goats twice a day, but when we went in the milking room it was boring to simply be told about how the milking was done without being able see it in action. I do not think it would have been much trouble to "save" one goat to be milked for the tour, especially for the price we paid. The goat cheese and other products we sampled at the end of the tour were beyond amazing, however. Overall I would recommend this tour, but I hope the farm takes my suggestion to add a goat milking to he tour for the kids! read more

We came across this dairy at the Hanalei Farmer's market on a Tuesday-we were on our way back from visiting the beach at Ke'e. They are there just a few hours--from 2 pm till about 4:30. Bought some of the garlic and chive chevre--sooo good! Smooth and creamy! They had other flavors also--artichoke, sun dried tomato, and lilikoi, which I wish we had also purchased as it sounds delicious. They also sell feta cheese. In addition to the goat cheese they sell cookies, brownies, and banana and pumpkin breads. We bought some oatmeal raisin cookies, which were fantastic! Made primarily with organic ingredients, which is a plus--say NO to GMO! Next time we are on Kaua'i I'd like to take a tour of the dairy. They are at several different Farmer's Markets throughout the week, so check their website for locations. Don't miss this cheese--out of this world! read more

We didn't visit the dairy, but we bought their Island Cookies (chocolate chips with mac nuts and coconut) 4 days in a row while we were here. DIVINE. So good. Tender, a little chewy, a little flaky. Awesome. $5 for a bag of 6 pretty big cookies (although I think their website says 8?). Also sold at Banana Joe's outside Kilauea. So so good. Everywhere else on the island sells those dreadful buttery dry crispy things from Kauai Kookie and elsewhere. Shudder. Go buy their cookies. They also sell at both Hanalei farmers' markets. Mmmmm. Going to miss these when we leave tomorrow! read more

went on the farm tour in July with my daughters age 22 and 16. other families had young children but we are such animal lovers. upon reaching the farm we were offered the best cookies, sweet breads and lemonade. We all got to hold a baby goat, they were so patient so everyone got as much goat cuddling and pictures as they wanted. The farm tour was very interesting. We saw and tasted fruits that we had never seen before. very enjoyable for all ages. educational and fun read more
