Incident Details: Time/Location: Saturday, May 16, 2026, at approximately 7:30 PM at the back entrance of T-Mobile Center during the UMKC graduation. What Happened: I exited and attempted to re-enter through the back entrance. I was stopped by security and told I could not re-enter. At the same time, I personally witnessed a white family being allowed to re-enter through that same entrance without issue. I was singled out and denied the same access granted to others. Escalation: When I asked to speak to a supervisor, my request was ignored by security. A KCPD officer on site then threatened me with arrest simply for asking for a supervisor. I was not disruptive, threatening, or violating any posted policy. Staff Involved: I do not have badge numbers or names. The security staff and KCPD officer involved can be identified via security camera footage from the back entrance at approximately 7:30 PM on May 16, 2026. I request that this footage be preserved immediately. My Concerns: Discrimination: Denying me re-entry while allowing a white family to re-enter is disparate treatment based on race. This violates Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Missouri Human Rights Act §213.065 RSMo, which prohibit discrimination in places of public accommodation. Intimidation by Law Enforcement: Threatening arrest for requesting a supervisor is retaliatory and an abuse of authority. Premises Liability: Under Missouri law, T-Mobile Center has a duty to ensure its agents treat invitees lawfully and without discrimination. Requested Resolution: Immediate preservation and review of all security footage from the back entrance at approximately 7:30 PM on May 16, 2026. Identification of and investigation into the security staff and KCPD officer involved. Written response within 10 business days detailing findings and corrective actions, including anti-discrimination training. Written apology for the treatment I received at my son's graduation. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and that all relevant video and records will be retained pending investigation. This was my son's college graduation. I went to the T Mobile Center for the womens championship games and had a very nice experience. The staff were friendly from the time I came in. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and respectful. The building itself is a good venue. It is easy to move around and the people sitting around us were friendly too. It felt like a good environment to watch big games and enjoy the event. Overall, I had a good time at the T Mobile Center. I would give it 4 stars. read more

I've been coming here for many years and this venue is awesome. Recently I attended a graduation ceremony for UMKC. The employees are almost always helpful and positive. There are plenty of signs that can help point you where you need to go. They have lots of options for snacks and full meals but they can be a little pricey. The space inside is very very big so big performances can happen here. Many big acts come through here to perform. The parking is something you might want to plan out ahead of time. There are plenty of paid options. read more

This place is in the heart of downtown KC directly across from the Power & light district. Great place for concerts. I do recommend getting a seat in the lower level rather than the upper level. For me the upper level is too steep. If you catch a concert, highly recommend getting a hotel room in downtown. This way you don't have to deal with the traffic/parking of leaving a concert. read more

I recently had my graduation for UMKC here. Other than that, I have been here for concerts and basketball games. Every time i have been here, I have always been impressed with the service of the employees, the cleanliness, and the overall vibe. The stadium is huge but is easy to get around in. They offer many different options for food and sometimes have promotions! You will most likely have to pay for parking unless you get on the street car from multiple stops down. There is not free parking anywhere nearby!! read more

Enjoyed the New Edition Way Tour 2026 with Boyz II Men and Toni Braxton. The venue was easily accessible, the staff were very informative and ready to assist. I had a great seat, section 104 row 1 seat 1 and there was no seat to my right or left. PERFECT for my first solo concert experience. Security was plentiful and kind. I didn't purchase from concessions so I can't speak of that process but all in all it was such a great time read more

This venue is located at the center of entertainment and restaurants which is a plus. However, the parking situations is difficult and expensive for events. It took 1 hour to exit the nearby garage the last event we attended ($30). The seating is super tight and uncomfortable. The lines are long and the drinks are expensive (and not much variety). I'm on the fence about going to events here but am glad for KC that big names are brought in for performances. read more

Attended the WinKC Celebration for Women in Sports. The atmosphere was electric. The seating on the floor was for those who purchased tables. There was also general seating around the entire arena and not a bad seat in the house because the program was shown in two huge screens to the side of the stage. As well as being shown on the jumbo tran. I didn't do the confession stand during this visit but they were open with a variety of snacks and drinks. Pricing was usual event pricing for the concessions but I will say the popcorn smelled delicious. The sound system was wonderful. This was our second time at T-Mobile Center. We saw Garth Brooks there several years ago and I believe he opened the place up. Pink was amazing! It was our third time seeing her and first time in Kansas City. The second time we saw her was at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas. There were some similarities to that show in this show. Flying around the venue while singing "So What" and the dancers on the trampolines. But other than that this was a pretty fresh show, and she's always amazing no matter what she does. We really liked the service at the arena. All of the people we encountered were very kind and helpful. It was easy to park and get there with a short walk. This is a very nice venue that Kansas City should be proud to have. We will be back! read more

T-Mobile center is now 17 years old, but still feels new. The building has been maintained well, the interior and especially the exterior have a great looking aesthetic. The glass covered flying saucer structure has become an iconic Kansas City landmark. This week was only my 6th time visiting and first since 2019 - 5 concerts and 1 NCAA basketball game. My biggest issue is the upper-level - way too steep to navigate comfortably and virtually zero legroom. Never again upper level!! We were almost guaranteed an NHL or NBA team when this place was built, but that never materialized, Even without a major permanent tenant, the place has brought in scores of events annually and given a reason to spend money in the neighboring P and L district. A definite money engine for the area. There are currently negotiations to bring a WNBA team here, so maybe we will finally have an anchor tenant. A much better arena than the old Kemper Arena. read more

We went here to see TSO (my 4th time, but first time since Covid). It started off bad and then got worse! TSO was great, but the T-Mobile center itself was a nightmare. First, we had to drive in circles trying to get to the road for the parking garage bc most of the roads near the TMC were closed off by KCPD. Then, when we DID finally get onto the correct street, we sat idling in line on the street waiting to get to the parking garage for OVER an hour. All of this, only to find when we made it there (2 blocks away) that it was full. Yes, it took over an hour to move 2 blocks. And they want to add to the chaos by building a STADIUM down here? I don't think so. I will never go downtown for anything ever again if they do. Anyway, we got lucky after going around the corner (and almost hitting a guy who literally ran out in front of us with a cop watching) and found a lot directly across the street that had just 2 spots left so we actually ended up with better parking than we would have gotten in the garage, but my sister was still royally pissed off about the chaotic traffic. I will acknowledge that they apparently do have handicapped parking somewhere at the TMC, but only about 15ish spots that are first-come first-served and "have been filled for hours" according to the worker we were able to flag down and ask. Mind you, this was after sitting in line on the road for over an hour after driving in circles for another 20 minutes before that. Once we got parked (thank you to the nice men running the lot), we were getting ready to cross the street to the TMC and my sister realized she left her phone in the car, so she had to go back and get it bc, you, digital tickets now. I waited at the corner for her. We crossed the street and arrived at the doors of the TMC and were pleased that we seemed to have missed the giant que to get in bc of the parking fiasco, so that was good. We scanned in and went through security, and of course my sister was stopped by a very rude/nasty lady with an attitude who told her she couldn't take her keychain in "bc it could be used as a weapon." The offending keychain was a safety device you hold in your hand like you would your keys in case you need to defend yourself. They told her she could go put it back in her car, but needed to talk to "someone in a pink shirt so they know to let you back in." She couldn't find them (bc they were all wearing black coats over their pink shirts lol) so she asked a police officer that was working the venue. He asked her what it was; she showed him and he rolled his eyes. The purse checker lady with a power trip ran over and yelled at my sister and the officer, saying "she's already been told what to do," and I guess the officer basically told her to go away bc "I'm having a conversation with her, not you." lol and kudos to KCPD. The officer offered to give her his number and hold onto that part of the keychain for her and meet us after the show to give it back and the lady flipped out again. My sister ended up telling the officer thank you and just taking it back to the car so he helped her talk to someone to ensure she could get back in. Once inside we went to the bathroom (which had a very long line but moved quickly). My stall door wouldn't lock, and my sister said there was poop on the walls of her stall. Gross. Once at our seats things got better. We were crammed in like sardines, but our neighbors were friendly. The show itself was great, but that is not any reflection on the TMC. After this experience, we both said we will not go back to TMC, or any event downtown that isn't at the music hall (they valet) ever again. read more

Weirdly I've been to the T-Mobile Center (formerly the Sprint Center) twice over the past few months, (once for Disney on Ice, and once for a comedy show) so it seems fitting to write a review at this point. Let's talk about what works here first: * For being such a massive venue, it tends to be really clean. Remembering Kemper area from my childhood, and having attended concerts all over the place, I can say that having clean restrooms, and in general, clean public spaces goes a long way for me at these kinds of places. * They have people literally EVERYWHERE which is great if you get lost, need to get directions to the restroom, or need help finding your seat. * They move you through ticketing pretty fast. I will say, when I came here for Lizzo there was a long line that I stood in even though we arrived at least 30 minutes into the opener. It moved really fast though, I think we were inside within about 10 minutes. * They position merch and refreshment stands all over the place, on all levels, which is great so there are fewer bottlenecks and long lines. Usually the main merch stand is right when you get in though, so that one can and will likely have a line, though it's typically fairly quick moving. * The sound and visual effects tend to check out at just about any seat in the house (I've sat on the floor and way up in the rafters) What could be improved: * The seats way up high are a bit nausea inducing for me. It's literally so steep that for a person like me that has a fear of heights, I had to take some deep breaths to ground myself. Knowing this now, I probably won't ever book a seat up there again, which is a shame given that for some shows I don't mind being up high, but I prefer to feel a bit more safe. * Parking is terrible. Just straight up terrible. Why they don't have their own dedicated lot is beyond me. I'd pay for expensive parking if it was attached and I knew there would be a space. Usually I can find cheap or free parking around, but it's pretty stressful and you never know what you're going to get yourself into. * Like nearly all concert venues these days the food and drink is EXPENSIVE. So, just keep that in mind. read more

Love a concert night at the T-Mobile Center. We've always had great experiences from security/entry to seats, food, drinks and sound. (Granted we usually save our money on the food and drinks front!) Grateful to have an arena of this size in our Downtown. This year we saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra - the lights and special effects were out of this world. I really loved this venue for a concert! It is so modern and clean which I loved. They are moving towards more and more self serve stations for things like canned seltzers and beer, and popcorn and pretzels. However if you want a mixed drink or don't want to go to a self serve station, they have a pretty big bar and more beer options there too. They didn't have bud light at the self serve stations but had it at the bar. Bartenders were friendly. Prices are high but that is a given at any concert/game. Would definitely come back! read more

First time here and came for a Bruce Springsteen concert. Nice arena in a convenient location downtown. Close to many hotels and an easy walk from most. Free street car transportation close by too. Just hop on and off at several downtown stops. My only issue with this venue was that they took my unopened bottles of water away at entry. Not cool T-Mobile.. most concerts I've attended let unopened water in. read more

We bought Monster Jam Tickets for 1/11/2019 and just attended yesterday. We had a snow storm come in so we left our town super early to avoid traffic delays. We arrived around 5pm (door do not open until 6) and the event started at 7pm. The staff were kind enough to open up their doors early to let those of us waiting outside in the lobby area. The inside was clean and tidy. All staff were smiling and super knowledgeable with seating directions. The event itself had wonderful hosts and was very organized. It was about 2.5 hours in runtime We are so excited to do more events at this complex ! I see that Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake & Disney on ice are coming ..... WE ARE SO READY! I highly recommend the Sprint Center for anyone who has never been ! If you are looking for an event THIS IS YOUR PLACE! read more

So I came here in the spring for a concert. Iv hate to say that I've lived in KC for 20 years and not been here. Both my friend and I are not the greatest with direction even with GPS so we kept missing the parking lots and had to drive back and forth until we were forced to pick a spot to park. By then, the prime spots were all taken so I had to beg the attendants to let me park in the overflow. Wasn't cheap but since I didn't have to pay for the concert tickets, I didn't really complain. When we got there, it was packed but I found out they kind of upgraded my floor tickets to a better view so that was a bonus! I did have trouble getting in because I brought mace with me and they wanted to confiscate it so I had to run all the way back to my car to leave it there. I was pretty out of breath when I got back but the concert was well worth it. The center is very nice and roomy. I've been to other concerts around the city and this is pretty nice actually. No complaints from me. It was very easy to navigate once I was in and I didn't get all wound up before leaving so that's saying something! Overall, a nice venue for concerts. Good quality sounds, not crazy huge but big enough to hold a decent size. I would go back for sure! read more

This place is nothing but a joke I feel bad for Hank Williams jr he played an amazing concert but the sound quality of the place was beyond horrible you could barely hear the Singer and the mic would screech every time he would move away for the mic stand and the security is extremely poor two guys I say next to was able sneak in a pack of small whiskey bottles and a weed pen the two was clearly intoxicated I talked to someone and they did nothing and when asked to speak to a manager no one could tell me who or where a manager was and the seating is extremely small even for an average person I will never attend another event here read more

I never have much interaction with the staff of the sprint center outside of security upon entrance. This particular experience wasn't the greatest, we were in a section where there were multiple people smoking inside of the facility. There was staff around and nothing was done. I took a trip to the bathroom, and I guess since it was cold outside, it was deemed the new smoking area? Lastly, the sound system. Now I know, most artists travel with their own sound team, but I guess they did not do a sound check before because most of the acts sounded terrible. read more

The Sprint Center itself is a 5 star venue. It's acoustically amazing. The seating is fine, provided you can adequately fit in an airplane seat (and no, I'm not talking about the first class loungers). After seeing the Foo Fighters here recently, I wanted to digest my experience and parley the goods, bads, and uglies. The Bad first: The parking is expensive, not covered (unless you find a parking garage), not owned by Sprint Center itself, and is a cluster to get in and out of. You really need to allow *AT LEAST* half an hour to navigate in, find a lot, and park. Plus you're probably going to walk at least a quarter mile to the site itself. My Pro Tip is this: Don't drive yourself down here...just get an uber if possible to drop you off within reasonable walking distance and just walk the rest of the way. This'll tie in later in the review. The Good: Security is quick, efficient, and friendly. I was through the line, in the door, and on my way to my seat within a few minutes. The pricing for food and beverages is about what you'd expect at Arrowhead, so pre-game appropriately if you're on a budget. If you're treating yourself, there are all kinds of food and beer. It's fairly easy to get to your seats and there are very helpful employees to guide you to where you need to be. Doesn't matter what show you're here for, there isn't a bad seat in the house and again, it's acoustically top notch. The Ugly: So you drove here, right? Good luck getting out and getting home. It took me nearly an hour to get out of my parking lot, through the I-35S bottleneck, and to get on the highway and moving. This is where having an uber pick you up would be ideal. Or if the weather is nice, mosey on down South and enjoy some of KC proper. But if you are driving, be careful as it seemed there were a few people who likely enjoyed their adult beverages a little too much during the event and still drove themselves home. *Finger wag to those folks*. Pro Tip if you drove: be patient, take your time, and let the traffic die down if possible. Would definitely recommend to go see shows/events here, just give yourself plenty of time and/or take an Uber if possible. read more

My review is strictly based on going to a concert. Saw Lionel Richie with several friends. The speaker sound was just awful. Beyond awful. My friend complained to every usher we saw. Even the bartenders at the bar. The sound quality was that bad. I was so relieved when I heard a radio station personality talking about how awful it was as well. They went to Luke Bryan as well, and it was equally as bad. Such a shame, since we paid a pretty penny for our tickets. They need to fix the speakers asap. read more

A decent venue to watch a show or live event. The best overall event to go to are the NCAA or Big 12 basketball games. The place is just very generic. I have seen multiple shows there and it has been ok. And they were great bands like Coldplay and Foo Fighters, but not one show has held any sort of memorizable feeling. Nothing compared to a festival or smaller show. The biggest concern I have for that place is the over all safety. There are really only 2 places to come in and out and they are on opposite ends of each other. And one on a lower ground floor. The design of the building is actually terrible even though the outside is pretty. Overall "eh" for me! read more

My Daughter's received their Master's in Education so it was a very exciting day for my family and I unfortunately it was pretty packed with very limited sitting which was understandable but being on a Cane needing a wheelchair for the long distance travels that being said I want to give all thanks and glory to Anthony from Guest Services he made our event absolutely pleasant went above and beyond to assure my comforts. read more

My husband and I attended a concert here in early 2020. It was really nice and clean. The workers were helpful and it was one of the first times I went to a venue and the workers were actually helpful with people finding their seats. It was a wild day for Kansas City as it was the same day as the Super Bowl Parade. So people were really crazy and happy. But the staff was great and the place seemed unfazed by the chaos of the parade. Would come to a concert here again! read more

The Sprint Center looked good especially at night with all the light reflecting off the exterior. I've been inside twice but the first time didn't count. I was just outside the metal detectors then was turned around while I was trying to shoot a commercial a few months ago. My most recent visit was when I went with my friends to the Katy Perry concert on 8/17/11. It was pretty crowded and according to the sign outside, there were no professional cameras allowed in. I don't really consider my DSLR camera to be professional but others might not think so which was why I didn't bring it to the concert. The layout of the Sprint Center was small but still good. Food and drinks were expensive but good thing I ate before I came here. The staff were helpful when we were trying to locate our seats. If you had to come for any event, then I'd recommend you to NOT buy the nosebleed seats because it looked super far away from the stage unless you don't mind. read more

This was my second time at T-Mobile Center this year. Because we are local, our friend knows of a parking lot where we can park for free, take the street car and walk several blocks to the venue, so we didn't have the nightmarish parking problems most people have. However, this arena is designed so that you either have to sit to the side of the stage and crane your neck for 3 hours to the side, which we did last time. We had a terrible time getting out of the venue due to them only running one elevator to the street level. This time, we opted for tickets straight ahead of the stage. We scored seats on the first level closer to the floor and while the view was excellent, we didn't expect to pay over $100 to sit in folding chairs! We also felt we were in cramped airline seats. We'd done better buying them up a little higher, which had the comfy permanent seats. Basically, there is nothing we like about this venue and will try to avoid it at all costs. read more
