The wheel is nice and actually less scary than the amusement park wheels Views are okay, you're mostly watching the cars on the highway. Fun for all ages! The ferris wheel is a great view of the city, especially on a clear day. We could see trains coming and going from several directions while at the top. The cabins are spacious and have music, ac, and light controls. Very bougie. The ride is about 10-15 mins and there is a panic button should you decide you need to escape! read more

Ok we splurged and got the annual pass in the Mothers Day sale. It was on and off drizzly but we selected a drink ( discount with the pass) and enjoyed an evening view of the city!!! We even checked out the mini golf course!! It was delightful, busy and plenty of parking!! read more

Went for Mother's Day, It was free for the mothers! Which was very nice. We were actually on the wheel much longer than we expected lol. We enjoyed our time! I think we went around 6x! So, we decided to finally check out the KC Wheel on a day date we had in downtown Kansas City. And it ended up being exactly what I thought it would be, which is a tourist attraction that the vast majority of locals will probably never try it out. The only reason we really did was because we were in the area and were looking to kill some time. But we'd likely never go again. There isn't really anything else to do there other than ride the ferris wheel, and it's far enough from downtown that you don't really get a good view of anything. Even the employees seemed like they didn't want to be there. So, not really an enjoyable experience that we'll be returning to in the future. There was no negotiating -- the minute our kids spotted the KC Wheel from the highway, it was happening. And honestly? We're glad it did. This Ferris wheel is such a fun stop in Kansas City -- smooth, quiet, and air-conditioned gondolas. It's a super comfortable way to get a bird's-eye view of the city, and we got to go around a few times, which made it feel like more than just a quick ride. Staff were easy to talk to and give suggestions, but the best thing was the ferris wheel. It doesn't move to fast to you are able to capture breath taking photos and views of downtown Kansas. I loved the ride on the wheel, and was SO happy it was longer than expected! The temperature-controlled cars are comfortable, and provide a steady, non-jiggly ride. It was also easier to get there than expected, and there was free parking on site, even though we went on a Saturday night. It's important to know in advance that it is a NO CASH ZONE! Other than views of the infamous hair curlers, the Liberty Memorial, Union Station, Kauffman, the big lit up TV antenna tower, and other skyline attractions, there was lots of traffic, an accident, and emergency vehicles on I-35 N to add a little excitement, as seems to be the usual every night now. Every employee/staff member we encountered was laid-back, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately very little of the pricey food on their menu was available, and some drinks were sold out. You CAN take food and beverage purchased there on the ride, but NO outside food or beverages are allowed. The public restroom was out of order so we were escorted to the staff restroom. Be sure to follow the process online if purchasing your ticket ahead, and take a screenshot of your confirmed order to show when you arrive. I enjoyed it and would go again! read more

Cute spot for a date night or family sight seeing! Perfect for everyone. Good price to ride and play mini golf. The ride itself is a decent amount of time . And you stop at the top. You go around a couple of times. They have heating and air and music! The views are a little odd since they are of the freeway... but you can also see downtown and all the other iconic sites too! The put-put is so fun ‍! They have a lot of holes, fun, unique ones too, so it takes a good amount of time to play through and you can scan the QR code and keep track of everyone's score! It was a nice turn of a view seeing what I've seen from many other viewpoints.. the KC skyline. I wouldn't do it again unless there was some lightning across the downtown never seen before but so many professional pictures capture those landscapes nowadays. I can say I experienced it. It'll be interesting to see what else is developed in the little spot by the freeway. Parking seemed limited. The wheel itself rocks with each rotation. Not sure if you're able to partake in a drink before or during as we arrived a little before closing but that would probably enhance the experience I'm sure! There's a queue for about 10-15 mins. With other cities having the same attraction with much more height than 150 ft and scope of view this was just ok! read more

I was in KC for a convention and wanted to do something KC touristy before I left. The wheel was suggested to me and I'm glad it was. Technically it was walking distance from my downtown hotel but I'm glad I was convinced to take an Uber because it would have been a tricky walk and it isn't really near much else. You can buy tickets in advance or when you get there. I decided to buy once there and got the package that included a photo and drink for around $30. Just the ride would have been $16. The staff was all really friendly but a lot of them seemed to not really know about anything other than buying a standard admission. I was told my package included a print out Or keychain. When I went to claim it there was no one at the photo kiosk and when I found someone, told that I only got the digital. Thankfully one of the staff apologized for the misunderstanding and printed a keychain for me. The ride itself was smooth and nice. It went a little faster than I've experienced on tourist wheels but didn't feel uncomfortable or odd. The ride itself was about 10-12 minutes long. It gave some great views of the downtown skyline in the distance. Overall, an enjoyable attraction I'm glad I had the chance to experience. read more

The views of downtown were amazing and the pods are temperature controlled so you can enjoy the wheel all year round! A trip around is maybe 12-15 minutes or so, in your own climate-controlled car, and the views are pretty spectacular. You can get tickets online or at the site, eezy peezy. We have been wanting to do the KC Wheel since they completed it. We have visited the St. Louis wheel and enjoyed it and hoped ours was just as fun. Best views are at night but does also make for a good daytime date spot. And would be a fun spot for a photo shoot. Pros: food, mini golf, good views of the city (3/4), staff friendly and welcoming, responsible pricing, plenty of spaces for selfies or photo ops. They also have souvenirs available. Cons: parking is tight, needs a 360 lit up night view of the skyline. 3/4 of the views are amazing and lit up the other 1/4 is just the tops of warehouses and buildings in the dark. I am sure there will be more improvements coming and kinks worked out. That being said, we will definitely be going back. read more

Meh. It's a nice addition to KC, but why is it in this spot? Half of your view is of a large, non descript IRS building. The ferris wheel itself is nice and similar to all the other new modern enclosed ones. We've been driving by this big ole wheel for so long on the highway, and it's finally time to see what it's like!! What they've done so far with the area looks pretty cute! There's a relatively large amount of parking under the bridge that's free, but I think it'll fill up when the area gets busy. The only activity besides the Ferris wheel that's open right now is the mini golf, which looks cute but not very large or super unique. The wheel looks a lot bigger from the bottom than it does from the highway! You go around 5 whole times, which is nice! I like the climate controlled cars, and you don't have to cram in with other people, just your group. The views of downtown are awesome!! I really love Kansas City, but tbh there is nothing to look at in any other direction, so it's a little boring for a 360 degree experience. I don't know who was on aux for the music that plays while you're on the ride, but I did not expect the upbeat coffee shop, Enya to Dido to Madonna, 2008 Pandora Radio station experience. Kind of a weird vibe, but I personally enjoyed! The kicker - The regular cost of a ride is $17. Right now they're running a deal where it's $15 since it just opened. That is the same cost as riding the Capital Wheel in Washington DC, for example, which is a longer and certainly more interesting viewing experience. I think the price is a little steep for what you get. I am excited to see what else opens to make this area The Pennway Point we've been promised! It's a place where you can take your kids to. I know they are still building this area with more restaurant and other business. For now if you would like to go visit, highly recommend purchasing the ticket online and show them the ticket for the free parking when you get there. Parking shouldn't be a problem. The KC wheel is open. It changed the skyline and now it's a part of our city so I had to try it. At first I had a hard time imagining how it fit in this location. But they have a nice parking area, great landscaping and layout for the wheel. Currently with no other entertainment options open it is an ok experience. The tickets are a little high especially for families. The putt putt mini golf course is cool. For me personally the view is ok, but nothing better than I have seen from a rooftop bar downtown. I am hoping once the entertainment part opens I will find more to love about the wheel but currently I was left a little underwhelmed. read more

Perfect ending to our " Christmas Crawl ". A few suggestions...have heaters throughout the line if you plan to operate in winter months and also it would be great if gondolas were heated. Condensation was built up on windows but was wiped off before each new rider loaded. I do believe there is a/c for summer months. We thoroughly enjoyed our ride and the views of our beautiful downtown KC at night. None of the concessions were open at 5:45 pm so I cannot comment on them. Our ride took about 20 minutes from load to unload. Currently they are offering a discount on tickets. read more

Being a KC native I was not a fan of the Wheel when I first heard of this. I liked the idea that our skyline was unique, so many cities have added these wheels to their landscape. That being said, it's here now so let's make the best of it. We went last night after my birthday dinner and found it to be cute, clean and fairly priced. They have a little putt-putt course attached. So it would make a great date night. The Wheel cabs are spacious and air conditioned. Staff was helpful and friendly. Overall I was pleased with the experience. This was a great addition to my birthday celebration in the middle of the week. We were there on a Wednesday, so no lines, ample parking.
