In a midst of international attendees, it was interesting to just be there. KC did an awesome job of providing a free and *safe* area that was easy to get to and enjoy. I even watched some soccer on all of the huge TVs they had *everywhere*. The ConnectKC26 (bus) was so easy to navigate. I took the Region Direct bus to travel to the FIFA Fanfestival. I didn't have to drive within KC. I didn't have to park. For $5, all I had to do was ride. It was so nice (I'll do that again anytime). I wanted to experience the FIFA World Cup--because this is a once in a lifetime event. And I really wanted to attend Gabby Barrett's concert. She looked and sounded amazing. Because of the two games that went into overtime, her concert time was put off until much later in the day. But that just meant I stayed longer and got to experience more. Which was the only way I got lucky enough to score my own customized bracelet. I also got a bandana I used around my neck (with water) to help keep a little less hot--thanks Coca Cola. There were water stations in the 4 corners (the one by the entry was always no-waiting, hint hint) so bring your empty *plastic* bottle. Well done KC!!!

There was so much to see and do throughout the festival. The variety of activities kept the energy high, and my favorite experience was definitely the Silent Disco--it was such a fun and unique addition that had everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. My only downside was the food. While there were plenty of options, I found it to be pretty expensive, and the quality didn't quite match the price. That was a bit disappointing, but it wasn't enough to take away from the overall experience. Between the entertainment, atmosphere, and easy transportation, the FIFA Fan Festival was well worth attending. I had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in Kansas City for the event!

The food is good- expensive- but normal for stadiums and ampitheaters. The crowd is always very supportive and the people both staff and spectators are kind and welcoming. They have a large fridge, many cabinets, multiple places to sit, and a little patio area with about 10-20 seats. They also serve food outside of the suites with a range of pizza, roasted vegetables, a variety of desserts, brauts, and coffee. A bar is also available. One downside is how expensive the food and merchandise is. I think the prices are crazy! Also the security wasn't super friendly when my bag was slightly over the size. I attended their 2nd ever home game here this afternoon. The stadium is old and quaint, so don't expect a lot of modern amenities. The bleachers are covered so shade and rain protection are assured. Tickets are $10 card only and parking is free; and a small snack bar has basics. The stadium is surrounded by grass and trees, and provides great vantage points to witness professional baseball up close and personal. There was only about 50 people in attendance for this 2000 seat stadium, so I moved around a bit, but enjoyed sitting right under the press box behind home plate, so I could hear the radio broadcasters. The foul balls bouncing off the metal roof above us provided great sound effects and watching dug-out players retrieve foul balls from the first base side woods reminded me this ain't the big leagues. An afternoon of novelty, true sportsmanship, and visiting a piece of Kansas City history made for a memorable visit. I would love to go back.

Plenty of yummy eats to try. We love BBQ so Chef J is always a stop for us at the stadium. Loaded tots are so delightful. We also grab a souvenir cup every time and I love the new plastic lids that keep spills and bugs from your drink. The drink holders in the seats in front are great! I love all the local to KC food options. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. I wish there were some hand sanitizers available too. We visited the hall of fame hallway and pro shop this in itself is a cool experience. There are plenty of photo op places near there including a giant Arrowhead. The Chiefs cheerleaders are so sweet but I wish there were more crowd interactions with them and KC Wolf . Games or chances to win merchandise etc like they do at the Royals.

I am not sure if the problems were how FIFA organized this or the logistics of the place, but the journeys into and out to the buses were nightmares! We paid for a shuttle to take us there, but there was what HAD to be 1 mile walk between the dropoff and the stadium! It was so hot, we needed a post shuttle shuttle! Seriously? The parking lot was also filled with FIFA sponsors and a store of course to buy merch. WE passed overflowing containers of bottles and things that were not allowed in. Once we got close, there were no well defined and organized lines near the gates or entrances. People were a little frustrated but no incidents that I saw. Getting in was ok, but we passed what seemed like 3 levels of security, which I can totally understand for such a huge event. Once inside we were fine. The setup of the stadium pretty standard. We ate a couple of hours before, so we just got drinks and snacks. (the price of Flamin Hot Cheetos was crazy!) and my party got a souvenir cup. The inside photos of the match were great! WE had nice seats to see the action; as a Chicagoan I compare most stadiums to Soldier Field, and it's not much better or worse. The bathrooms were ok, I think, and the red/yellow seats were unique. Getting out was just terrible! We visited a couple of booths in the parking lot to get free swag, and when it came time to head to the buses, there were crowds and ill organized lines with signs of where to go. It was a long, hot hour plus nightmare with people getting very cranky (us included). WE opted for the bus when we read that FIFA wanted $120 for parking!! Nuts to that! OTOH, with an early flight, getting to a car and heading back to the hotel at a decent hour seemed priceless.

I recommend this to all baseball fans because not only will you see many pieces of memorabilia in Royals history but you can also see items on loan from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Craft and Draft is my favorite restaurant to visit since I'm a big fan of craft beer. Here you can find a standing room only section that is first come first serve and TVs everywhere to watch the game. The tap list is just okay, but it's enough to get a small taste of some regional beer. I've liked seeing the creative ballpark foods Aramark invents. I tried a chili cheese corn dog on my most recent visit. I'm really going to miss this place when the new stadium opens. I have so many memories here and will continue to make a few more while The K is the home of the Royals.

With my kiddo in grad school in the Midwest, Kauffman Stadium was logistically our stadium of choice this summer. I'm glad we did because we loved this stadium. Baseball and football are KC's biggest professional sports and both their stadiums sit right next to each other eastern part of the city. It is right off the highway and hard to miss with it's large crown facing the highway. I will say that the general area of the stadium is pretty boring with not much to do except come to the stadium. Parking is plentiful and it does come with a cost. Pay ahead of time to save time. The stadium is in it's 54th season but doesn't have an old feel to it. It actually had a very open feel to it with a large concourse that made walk around easy without being shoulder to shoulder. Hard to miss much of the game walking around as the stadium if very open with views from every angle. Tours are available which I usually do but didn't have time this time around. I like to always come when gates open to really explore the stadium before the game starts. The day I went, they had a t-shirt giveaway which I gladly took to add to my collection. I've been to stadiums where there isn't much to see other than the game itself. Here, there is alot to see. One of the coolest features is the hard to miss water feature which is one of the largest privately funded fountains in the world. They also have this tall video board which happens to be the tallest LED video display in baseball. There is a Hall of Fame museum in the stadium where you can walk in and see the history of the team complete with lots of memorabilia. This park is very family friendly too. They have the Outfield Experience where they have things like mini golf, pitching mounds, batting challenges, playgrounds and even a carousel. Another thing I judge a park by is there dining options. I like a park that embraces the area and features food you can't get at other stadiums. One thing KC is known for is BBQ and they showcase that with the famous Joe's KC BBQ on premises. I dined at the actual restaurant the day before but had to come get the famous Z-Man Sandwich to finish my culinary adventures in the city. They also have other unique offerings along with your usual baseball park staples. They also don't charge an arm and a leg food or merch which made my wallet extra happy. They have value menus at certain concession stands where you can get items for 5 bucks or less. I explored every corner of this stadium and I can say, it's one of my favorite stadiums to date. I highly recommend making this a stop if you are exploring stadiums like myself.

Race days at Kansas Speedway used to be a hot ticket…read more They were loud, boisterous, raucous and thrilling - an all day affair that was basically, a huge party. Race day is still fun, though it's not like it used to be. Let's just say, if you don't take care of yourself like you should, age can catch up to you. Two things stood out during a recent visit: Concessions and staffing. Concessions are still available, but they haven't kept up with the times. They're the same frozen then fried options that have been there since the beginning, only without anybody to serve them. We stood in line for almost forty five minutes and found out most of our choice were sold out, and the race wasn't even half over. We thought about trying another stand, but half of them were closed and the lines were long. I hope the venue acknowledges and addresses its race day experience. When everything is running well, it's one of the best things in sports.

Specifically..The Ted Lasso promo event. What a VERY dissapointing event!!…read moreWe arrived early to get the promo scarf but were told they were already out... there couldn't have been more than a few hundred people in the stadium when we got there. Later we saw 2 employees dragging a huge box of scarves into the guest services office. We went over to ask about them but was met with the door being shut in our face before we could politely ask about them. Later in the evening there was a woman with a bunch around her neck walking around asking trivia questions but she only allowed one of us to play the game ( there were two of us)... And yet we saw her putting scarves around three little children who weren't even capable of playing the game a few minutes later. Now for the worst part of the evening...Fans were not allowed to sit in the shaded area of the stands and were told that we had to sit in the lower seating area on the east side in the glaring sun if we wanted seats, and that they were "filming" and wanted to make sure that the lower area was filled first. Yet the lower area on the west/shaded side was only open to VIPs. ( this was a free event and there was no option for a VIP ticket. So we have no idea how those seats were distributed) They had huge fans set up but they weren't turned on. It was a heat index of 102°!! We were forced to stand in the common areas for shade for 1.5 hrs before they finally opened up the shaded upper area on the west side. We know of two people that were overcome by heat, one of them was a child. Now about the Ted Lasso part of the event...The fact that five members of the cast came out said "hi" and were on the screen less than a minute before showing a 1 min preview clip of the next season & then leaving was very dissapointing. we never saw them again. Later there seemed to be social media posts that showed more but that didnt actually happen was shocking. We really expected a little more from this promotion due to the hype and the Ted Lasso bus riding around Kansas City all day. Very poor planning, and a lot of disappointed fans leaving the stadium early. We rode back on the streetcar to a lot of people just complaining about how disappointed they were and how badly it was handled. One more item that was very disappointing was for a FIFA Semi final watch party event the speaker system in the stadium was not working well. Fans could not hear what was going on at all and a lot of people left to go other places to watch the game. So, hey #brittneymahomes...while you were enjoying yourself at Chiefs stadium, your business venture really bombed this event.

This is a shopping and entertainment section in downtown KC. Theres's a lot of bars, restaurants…read moreand clubs here including some well known ones like Chipotle, Yard House, Guy Fieri's Dive, and Blue Sushi. Some of these places host special events, like we saw big party for New Year's celebration. They also closed many of the roads for the crowd. Most of the shops are individual stores and mostly local brands. There are lots of street and garage parkings available. Parking rates vary depending on events. The street car also runs through the area. The area seemed clean and safe in general but we saw some shady individuals standing in street corners around night time.

Power & Light is truly one of the "must-see" experiences in Kansas City that I did not know about…read moremy first times coming. I went with a bunch of friends to watch the US Men's Soccer Team during a World Cup Watch Party and I was not disappointed. The vibe and energy there are spectacular and the selection of bars surrounding the area are great. It's set up that no matter where you are, you have a solid chance at seeing whatever is being performed on the stage area or on the big screen. We had a blast and I think that is going to go down as one of my best non-stadium soccer experiences I've ever had.
