Man, I wanted so badly to love this place. I've read good reviews online for this place and it seems to be a repeated suggestion for authentic Czech food.
First off, this place is out in the boonies! It was a serious journey across town. I don't mind an adventure for good food, but it just wasn't good enough to justify the trip when you can find better Czech cuisine in the city.
The meat loaf was ok. Simple, same goes with the potatoes and gravy it was paired with. We also had the wild boar with rosehip and potato gnocchi. Man, that dish sounded interesting in theory, but again, simple. It felt like everything I ate was under seasoned. Just not good considering the price point and strange location. The meal ended with the plum dumplings. So much potential, but some unnecessary pairings like the strange oil and nut crumbles.
Lastly, service was pretty slow.
Such a cute little place and so close to being good, but falling short. I think some simple updates to dishes on the menu would make a huge difference. What a shame!
