Always a must-have and a neurology office is water in case people are feeling sick or under weather. I know I've missed some other staff members to whom I apologize but am grateful to work with you. Both the Irvine and Huntington Beach offices are beautiful, bright, and easy to find with great parking options (always a plus in SoCal!). I had to switch neurologists due to having to change my insurance through my employer. Dr Saremi is in my hmo medical group so I was happy to wait more than a month for an appointment. I went to my first visit and dr saremi started by asking me what migraine treatment works for me and when I said Botox which I have been on for 1 1/2 years he stated I cannot help you it takes too much time for my staff to get the pharmacy approval and shipment due to my insurance. He then shuffled me out of the examination room and told his receptionist to cancel my appointment. I have now waisted months and am due in 3 weeks for my next injection. Had he trained his staff to inform patients with my insurance that he refused to treat with Botox I would not be writing this review. Stay away! read more

The end result we were passed along to another specialist. Having had my first visit, Dr Saremi greeted me at the door,took me right in and started right in. I come physically challenged in my ability to walk. The pain that my body is accumulating overtime is growing . Dr Saremi asked me questions about previous doctor appointments, how my body is feeling, ran me through a collection of physical movement test. Sent me off to have more blood work done. My first visit went well. Not an easy job to pinpoint the problem when their are 160 different options. I can only hope that we can work things out and get it solved. I will say that he is very direct and does not spend a lot of time discussing how the drive was to the doctors office. The crew at the front desk was very helpful and instructive. I hoped for a diagnosis and treatment for sudden onset movement disorder that panicked me and my family. But, since the EEG he ordered was normal, he merely ruled out epilespy and decided that the condition was psychogenic and referred me to a shrink. I nearly throttled him and my husband agreed that he spent little effort to diagnose me and NO effort to provide an effective appropriate treatment. read more

He literally spent 5 minutes with my dad prescribing useless medications that he himself prescribed before but clearly had no notes on. Super rude staff. Depressing office. Dr. Saremi was recommended by my primary care physician to provide a neurologist review of a CT scan. Dr. Saremi was friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough, reviewing the CT images, the radiologist notes, as well as interviewing me. He provided a very understandable explanation of what everything meant. Dr. Saremi then reviewed current medications, and recommended additional medications to discuss with my primary care physician for future consideration. Our cardiologist insisted that my 83 year old husband see a neurologist befor prescribing medications for his serious heart condition. After taking two tests Dr Saremi ordered, all he said was my us and had a "slow brain" and I had to specifically ask for a copy of the two hour test he had taken Just to get a reasonable amount of detail to give our cardiologist. Then Dr Saremi ordered a 3rd expensive test we could not do because insurance would not cover unless he told them it was medically necessary. After calling and submitting an online request for further instruction, plus visiting his office in person, we have never heard from Dr Saremi again, nor his staff person whom I spoke with personally face to face. Doctors should not blow off patients, especially those reliant on their expertise to get vital help for a heart issue that could result in sudden death If not treated properly. He obviously doesn't care. Worst doctor ever. read more

I took my mother to Dr. Saremi as she had just moved in with me from another state. She had severe Alzheimer's and Dr. Saremi was caring and compassionate when he ordered several tests. He prescribed some medication and we came back a month later. That next visit my mother complained about living with me and my family and had become physically and verbally abusive to all. Next thing I know I am getting a call from the hospital administrator, so he said, turned out he was the office manager. Insisting that I bring my mother back in (she can barely walk) to see Dr. Saremi as Dr. Saremi stated that he wanted to interview her alone. My mother can barely hear on a good day, has a severe case of Alzheimer's and could barely walk yet he wanted to interview her alone? I went to the appt by myself and asked what was going on and Dr. Saremi said I was speaking loudly to her at last appointment. SHE IS PRETTY MUCH DEAF. I refused to take her back there after our treatment and the medication he prescribed wasn't even for Alzheimer's after taking her to another neurologist. Her care advocate at the daycare center she was attending tried to contact Dr. Saremi but calls were never returned. After more investigating, the man who called saying he was administration and was the office manager, was a nurses aide. Nothing had ever been reported to the hospital or the medical center. When I called they had no idea what I was referring to. Dr. Saremi flat out told me he made a report to the hospital. read more

I began seeing Dr. Saremi in August 2018 for unusual symptoms like severe headaches, paresthesia on half of my face, dizziness, difficulty reading, blurry vision, and severe anxiety. Although I was unaware at the time, I had had a traumatic brain injury, characterized by pulling of multiple nerves in my neck, including ones related to my vision and vestibular systems. At first, I was so relieved to have found a doctor who believed that someone like me, young at only 25 years old, could have these unusual neurological symptoms. At subsequent visits without my mom present, he asked me "Why are you so anxious? Did your boyfriend break up with you?" He continued, "You are young and beautiful, what could be wrong!" and "Go for a run, it will make you feel better!" and "Why do you want to live in San Francisco, you should move back home and find a boyfriend here." I need not explain to you why the above is completely obtrusive, especially in this cultural climate. But then to make things worse, he would hug me as I was crying. He betrayed my confidence by making me feel small and powerless, and then would come in for a hug. Gross. It has been more than 6 months since I've seen him, and he should know how I'm doing so that he can improve his professional competence. So, Dr. Saremi, I'm back living in San Francisco, and I have an amazing care team here. - Dr. Gary Abrams at UCSF is my neurologist, and he has helped me understand my injury and has never doubted my symptoms. - Dr. Beth Cook is my neuropsychologist, and she has helped me find resources to heal and with a return to work and independent daily life. - Dr. Surbhi Bansal (San Carlos) and Dr. Terry Tsang (Irvine) are my ophthalmologists, and I have been doing vision therapy with them for 6 months now. They are the reason I can now read and have much less severe headaches. - I practice yin yoga and meditation regularly because an injury to my brain also means an injury to my nervous system and how my body self-regulates. - I am still not cleared to RUN. When you told me to do that 6 months ago, it was extremely painful at the base of my brain. Before you suggest something that can cause further harm, you need to sit back and first ask yourself if you believe the patient's symptoms. For patients looking for a neurologist for something injury related (TBI, concussion, nerve injury), the most important quality should be whether the doctor believes you or not. read more

Dr. Saremi was consulted while I was hospitalized for numbness and tingling in my lower body. He ordered appropriate testing to confirm suspicion of MS and gave me a definitive diagnosis quickly, He was willing to take me on as his patient once I was discharged from the hospital and he has been my neurologist since. I have been very happy with the care I have received from him. He has been kind and reassuring, answers my questions/addresses my needs, and was very supportive in the process of having to be on short term disability. He was open to my input on selecting a medication/treatment, but I ended up going with the medication he suggested. The dosing and home administration fits my lifestyle and I think he made a thoughtful choice in this decision with what he knew about me at the time.
