This Doc is a GREAT specialist, especially for TOUGH cases that other specialists can't puzzle out! My husband was referred to Dr. Gehret by another, trusted MD and we had exceptionally GOOD experiences with him! Since my husband was a new patient, there was a little of a lag to getting seen, but not as long of a wait as many other specialists. For all of his visits, we found the office to be VERY helpful, thoughtful and they made sure that they didn't OVER schedule this doc, so our waiting room times were short - pretty refreshing for any Doc's office! Add in that in his office, a large number of nerve tests can be conducted right there, the feedback from the results is immediate. Again, YAY!!! For additional tests, like MRI's, Dr. Gehret spent a LOT of time simplifying the medical jargon and making sure that all of our questions were answered. Thankfully, we were lucky in that we got lots of GOOD news, so having such a thorough round of testing and Dr. Gehret's expertise, gives us GREAT peace of mind and we are GRATEFUL! I work in the medical field and place a significant value on a positive patient experience. In my opinion, it is as important as a providers clinical knowledge and experience. I took my father to see Dr. Gehret to verify a neurological diagnosis. Throughout the exam, Dr. Gehret's approach was detached and cold. He frankly lacks empathy and goes out of his way to ensure you recognized how annoyed he is by any questions you may pose. He makes little to no eye contact in his interactions, staring at his computer screen more that at the person in front of him. (I recognize all providers must utilize electronic medical records, most still manage to maintain a connection to their patient while taking required notes) I cannot speak to Dr. Gehret's clinical knowledge, as his approach resulted in us finding a different provider for my father's care. I would NOT recommend putting yourself or a loved one in his care if kindness and compassion are qualities you value in a provider. read more

Had to have an MRI. Their technician is outstanding. I normally have anxiety, but he put me completely at ease. He let me know the time of each test and whether it would be loud. If I could put no star I would. This doctor needs to do research and not deal with patients. He has a bad attitude extremely angry and has no patients. After waiting an hour and ten minutes I went into his examining room and he said I'm in a hurry, why are you here again I had only seen him once 2 years ago. I couldn't wait to run out of his office. Typically, I do not take the time to write reviews but I felt compelled to do so after seeing Dr. Gehret. First, I would like to say that Dr. Gehret is truly a master of his profession. He is thorough and calculated. When I met with him he asked me very specific questions regarding my current symptoms and history of neurological complaints. He has a precise way of taking inventory in order to evaluate individual needs. I think too often people look for doctors to be a therapist who will listen to your sob story. While Dr. Gehret is compassionate, he objectively evaluates your complaints in effort to find solutions for you. If you trust his process you will be more than satisfied. Rather than review his staff, I'll confine my remarks to Dr. Gehret. He is a very thorough doctor, and understands neurology completely. His examination was very professional and approached my problem from numerous perspectives. Lots of physical test, lots of questions about my situation. Again, very thorough. He is personable but not in the old "family doctor with a charming bedside manner" style. He's a scientist who's focused on understanding the problem and finding a remedy. The staff is very pleasant and efficient. My return visit for the MRI was made easily. The visit with Dr. Gehret was a revisit for an injury I'd seen him for in 2010. Over priced and will not take the time to answer your questions. Don't go to Dr. Gehret. I scheduled to have EMG done when I get there the doctors says " I don't have time you have to come back". That was very frustrating. So I get the test done next appointment he said I have muscle weakness. I start to ask questions. He said wait until the end. So at the end I ask questions and he gives me a handout to read and that will answer all of your questions. I still had more questions so I email him. So he sends me to another doctor. She could not answer my questions. Then I get the bill the MRI was 3 times as expensive as other places. I spent over $1000 out of pocket and still don't have a proper diagnosis or proper treatment. Unprofessional office staff severely lacks in responsiveness, timeliness, and accuracy. I had a referral from a PA to see Dr Gehret as I have symptoms that should be addressed by a neurologist. The employee named Shana said she did not want to waste the doctors time by seeing me and attempted to re-evaluate my condition over the phone in 2 minutes as if she is a Doctor. She immediately said she can not help me and I should go to another doctor. I asked her how does she know what my problem is? She would not even let me finish my listing of symptoms. Do you think a PA might no a little bit more than this secretary??? She treated me very badly. She should not be evaluating medical conditions, is this even legal since she is just a secretary? I called with a referral and PPO insurance, very unhelpful staff , very disheartening to say the least. I checked to make sure doctor was in network, staff did not want to check if insurance covered what I needed for my son. Gave them all the info and they still wouldn't check. Stated they would not know what my co pay or anything was and I would have to find out for myself as they did not know what code the doctor would use for our visit.
