I was sent there by the VA for a hearing test.Dr Brown ask me what I did for employment and hobbies . I stated to him I worked in a office and I fish alot. He wrote in his report that I worked in a hazardous noise area and I participated in hazardous noise activities. He falsified the VA report. VETERANS stay away from this place. read more

Matt and the staff were beyond professional and helpful. His top priority was getting the proper diagnosis for my mother not her budget. Once the diagnosis was made there were a several hearing aids to choose from and we narrowed it down to one (based on her lifestyle and needs). I live out of state and am 1000% positive that I made the right choice for my mother who lives in Kansas. If you are looking for sincere care and service, this is the place. read more

I had an appointment in 2020 with Dr. Brown. Had an extensive test and it did show hearing loss. At that time, I chose not to get hearing aids. They called to remind me it had been a year since my last appointment, so I went back for another test and found that hearing aids really would be appropriate for me. Dr. Brown was professional, but friendly, and fitted me with a great set. They do all kinds of things I never knew they could. They're comfortable and nearly invisible! I had no idea how much I was missing. The hearing aids are not inexpensive, but I'm sure they're worth it. I got several accessories at no charge and a discount for not paying in installments, which was a choice I had. The Dr. programmed my phone for me to pair with my hearing aids and he showed me how they work with the TV. (No more close captioning needed.) I would definitely recommend Kaw Valley Hearing. read more

I met with Dr. Matt today and my hearing has improved dramatically from that one visit. Matt tested my hearing and adjusted my existing hearing aid. The hearing aid has features that I did not know it had, and that I was not using. I will be wearing my hearing aid much more in future. And I will be making visits to Dr. Matt at least twice per year. read more

Dr. Brown and his staff are very accommodating with my appointment. The exam was one of the most comprehensive exams I have received to date. The audiologist reviewed my results and discussed my concerns. I never felt rushed or obligated to purchase a hearing aid. They offered multiple options for treating my hearing loss. The "doctor" was very rude, would answer his cell phone while I was still being seen. Had this whole spiel for $4000 hearingaids, went for a second opinion at ENT and they didn't even suggest hearingaids. Something very off putting about this place, seems more of a hearingaid salesman not a doctor. Could possibly be useful for someone with an actual hearing issue...tread lightly. read more

After spending over a decade protecting his community as a police officer, Dr. Brown decided to return to school to pursue his dream of becoming an Audiologist. This was an easy decision; his son was having difficulty hearing, which inturn affected his speech and articulation. This was the driving factor of becoming an Audiologist. Dr. Brown has many years practicing in the Kaw Valley area, with extensive experience and expertise in pediatric audiology, adult and geriatric audiology, tinnitus evaluation, aural rehabilitation and hearing aid evalations, fitting and service. Dr. Brown received his Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Kansas. Dr. Brown is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, he is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, a member of the Kansas Speech Language Hearing Assocation, and a member of the American Tinnitus Association. I was re-assigned to Katherine Rhoads who is very nice and believe is very competent. Today I had a scheduled follow up appointment with AA. I was called Friday to conform the appointment for 9:00 this morning. I arrived a bit early and was asked for my new insurance card (which I provided). Then I was asked for my Medicare Card (which I am not sure I even have one). I offered to provide my Medicare number but the receptionist said she required my Medicare card. I have been on Medicare for 4 years and have never been asked for this before; not from Associated Audiologists and not from my PCP, Ortho, NKC Hospital, Dentist Neurologist etc.. Now just for the record, Medicare has zero hearing aid benefits - Zero. I am the one paying the bill. So this is the 3rd time I had an appointment from this provider that was not honored. THE THIRD TIME!!!! Very disappointing after spending $4000 on hearing aids.

I was a new patient here during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time of my appointment, masks were…read moremandated and required in all of Kansas, where this office is located. When I arrived, no one was wearing masks. I was told that they are exempt from wearing them, and was then lectured about the death rate of COVID, that masks are completely ineffective, and that I can go ahead and take my mask off. When I explained that I have differing beliefs and good reason to wear one, I was again belittled. You could tell they really didn't want me to wear it, which is not their choice to make. Already blindsided about the masks, I then asked if the doctor could keep 6 feet from me in the room. A reasonable compromise, right? She told me we could discuss it once we got to the room. I wasn't sure why we couldn't discuss it in the lobby right then, but I later realized it was because she had no plans to keep her distance from me. In the room, she sat very close to me despite me having already requested her not to. I understand if someone is exempt from mask wearing. I get it. My issue here is that they did not make this clear to me as a new patient. Furthermore, the doctor lectured me about masks and suggested I take mine off. And finally, they did not attempt to keep distance. I felt very uncomfortable. This office should make it clear they are exempt, so their patients can then make a choice that is best for their personal health. They should also allow patients to wear masks if they choose, without making them feel wrong for wearing them. I am very disappointed with the professionalism of Midwest Dermatology. If you want to feel that your voice is valued and heard as a patient, do not choose this office.

She will also tell you if she feels comfortable or not removing a mole or doing a certain procedure. The parking garage is a pain in the butt, no one can park between the lines. If you drive a larger vehicle you should just head right up to floor 6/7. This is considered plaza 1 but its in building 3. The nurses were all very friendly and communicative. I have another appointment in May. She is part of St, Lukes Medical Services.

I recently bought a hearing aid set from Dr. Brown after years of trying out a lot of things that didn't work. My hearing is bad. He's conscientious in fitting and describing how the hearing aids work and in follow-up. The office is cheerful and pleasant. He gave me a nearly-$2000 discount. The hearing aids are great--I feel like they are a miracle. They're so comfortable I worry I'll forget I'm wearing them and walk in the shower. As a test, I see how much they have changed my hearing with the TV set. I used to have to set it at 45% of the total sound. I now have it down to 25%. He's kind of the new guy in town with only ten years at his office--an ex police officer. I think he's trying harder. read more
