She then raised her voice at me and told me if I feel bad for the horse, she is going to "put" me on a different horse if I keep saying things like that. Below is a video attached of this incident. She knew I connected with the horse earlier and that I genuinely wanted to ride him. I felt threatened when I expressed my concern about hurting him.. I live on the island and I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family based on how she made us feel. Everyone else at the stables was very nice. I honestly feel bad because my friend also heard her barking orders at her co workers in a very rude manner. She also felt uncomfortable.

Unlike a typical Boarding Stable, they operate as a membership-based organization. As a private self-help and self-sustaining entity, they do not receive financial aid from MWR. There is a volunteer Board that governs and are operate exclusively within the boundaries of Wheeler Army Airfield. Membership is open to active/retired military & DoD employees. CAC card copies required for each household member, with annual/random ID checks. There is a well-maintained writing arena, and there is also a round pen that admittedly does need some love. There are ample trails from easy breezy to increasing difficulty. Each member is responsible for maintaining their own barn, as well as feeding, mucking, and maintaining the health of their horse(s). Workday is accomplished every month, each full member required to do four hours, and share borders two hours. Rental of horses and lessons are not given here. This is a private facility for private enjoyment. They aren't against hosting birthday parties, Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts, or things like that, you just have to reach out and they will do what they can to accommodate your request. This is a wonderful place to board, especially having ample personal paddocks as well as turn out fields. We all know land is at a premium here in Hawaii, and we are definitely spoiled here at Wheeler Saddle Club.
