Beginning where you can see the turtles on the beach

Recently had a friend in town that wanted to do horseback riding. This is definitely a place I would recommend! You get to ride a long the beach Nice bathrooms Locker for your things Great and friendly staff Horses are all healthy We got to see turtles in the water as we walked with the horses along the shoreline We signed up for the 45 min ride but we're a little disappointed because it wasn't actually 45 mins. We got back about 10-12 minutes early. Really wish we were able to get the full 45 mins for the $90 we paid. Still a great place and highly recommend. Very professional staff and clean as well. We will be back! Follow the signs for the stables. It's on the left before you get to the main entrance of the resort. Take that road all the way to the end and there's a big red barn. Can't miss it!

Sent my daughter and sister in Christ riding yday. They had such an amazing time with the best views. My daughter 7, cannot stop talking about it. Asking if she can go again. And I totally appreciate that they had a great photographer sneaking along the way and capturing the most stunning shots. I was split between my kids and other activities. I couldn't be there. So I appreciate all the wonderful photos. Will definitely have to make time to go with my daughter and experience this with her.

    Sunset on the point

We have been going to Turtle Bay Resort for over a decade and as much as the resort has changed, there is one part that has been our consistent favorite -- The Stables. Central to the resort's Paniolo Lu'au, The Stables maintains the Hawaiian Cowboy culture. Offering some of the best horseback rides on O'ahu The Stables is a key part of Turtle Bay Resort. It wouldn't be the same without The Stables. We look forward to a coast ride whenever we are here. The horses are well cared for. They understand the assignment and provide the perfect ride for any level of rider. The guides are attentive and knowledgeable, sharing the paniolo culture and rich history of the Turtle Bay area. I cannot recommend The Stables more! If you're on the North Shore, be sure to take the time to ride!

Arriving & it's clearly marked we are at the right location.

Turtle Bay has always been 5 star with everything they do & yesterday they kept true to their high quality customer service & surpassed any expectations I had. Miss Kylie treated the girls (ages 3&7) so wonderfully. I am a career nanny that took the girls for their Christmas present for their 1st pony ride- I share with the girls the value of adventure & experiences over toys. Miss Kylie was great at speaking with the girls at eye level before entering the barn & giving clear directions for safety. She praised the girls for all the things they did right like putting the brushes away after grooming & walking around the rear end of the horse with a safe distance to prevent an accidental injury. In that short time, she built a sense of trust with the girls before she had them take their ride on "Goldie", their pony. It made all the difference in their outlook of this is fun vs this is scary. The girls had a BLAST! It was so truly special! Thank you Miss Kylie, Goldie, Oker, Pono, Lilikoi, & silly Beetle without a halter-just enjoying his hay, for sharing your time with us. For respect of the family, I didn't post the children's photos but if I could you'd see how they went from being a little nervous to looking like natural riders. **** Definitely bring $$$ cash for tipping. I had to call concierge they suggested going to the golf pro shop to the atm because Miss Kylie definitely deserved extra & after walking thru the barn I felt terrible going in the golf shop (so sparkly clean) with 2 kids & all of our sandy boots.

I did the advanced ride with Kayla and had SO MUCH FUN!!! She was so sweet and knowledgeable. We trotted/cantered/galloped at times which I appreciated since I strive for more adventure than just a walking trail ride. We went RIGHT next to the water, on the sand. It is illegal to ride horses below the tree line on the beaches in Hawaii, but we got as close as we could. It was absolutely gorgeous. An experience I will never forget. I rode Boogie, a gorgeous paint horse. All their horses are extremely well taken care of, well fed, with super shiny coats. They also have 2 massive draft horses that are over 18 hands. Also, all you have to do to get there from the resort is ask the valet guys to drive you over to the stables on a golf cart! How fun is that? PS we saw 2 turtles in the water while we were riding; that's how close we were to the water. So beautiful.

I loved horseback riding here! The views are amazing and I even saw quite a few turtles in the water which was super cool! We did the one hour tour and I enjoyed each minute of it! The workers were so friendly and welcoming! I would definitely come back here. Furthermore, the horses are so sweet

What an amazing ride!! I had a proposal I was setting up for my fiancé. We chose to do the private sunset ride with Tina and Alex! They absolutely made this such a special occasion. From the friendly horses to the beautiful trail ride, nothing was missing! I'd highly recommend doing this for any special occasion! Thank y'all so much for an unforgettable weekend! She said YES!

AMAZING! I would reserve this every day! The views, the horses, the scenery is BEYOND what you could imagine. The guest services was fantastic. Everyone on property provides 5 star customer service, and it's natural, not forced. Don't be late! Enjoy every second of it! Very kid friendly!

One of the highlights of our trip. The guide was friendly and we had a great time seeing the scenery and enjoying the ride. While the weather was rainy (late Jan) the guide was still willing to take us out and the rain always passes quickly!

    Beautiful sunset during our ride

We enjoyed this experience so much! The sunset ride was beautiful. Thanks to our amazing guides-Vera & Louise. They did a great job with our group. I highly recommend this to all!

This was our second time coming and each time it's been better and better. The tour is so fun and you see so much while also learning about the land the history and the resort. The staff is amazing and so knowledgeable. Easy check in process easy site set up to buy tickets.

We did the pony experience. My daughter is 5 and loved it! She got to brush the pony and help put the saddle. It was easy to get to and find. I wasn't staying at the resort so we drove and went to the lobby where the reservation said to meet . There they just had me sign a form . Then we drove to the barn . Husband and older son stayed in the lobby area and grabbed a bite to eat while me and my daughter went to the pony experience. It was cute and simple for this age . I was able to walk along side them . The lady holds onto the saddle as they walk in the field near the barn .

Getting ready to head out for our ride

We happened upon the stables at turtle bay in an attempt to look for turtles along the beach. My 2-year old daughter is obsessed with horses so when we came across it and asked if we were allowed to interact with the horses in any way. The young woman working that day was so kind and went out of her way to give my daughter a memorable experience. So naturally we had to book a pony experience for the next day. "Uncle" was our guide for the experience and he was amazing! In addition to his kind nature and patience with our little one, he also went above and beyond to give us the perfect experience, even taking beautiful pictures and video of us! If I could give them more stars I would! Definitely worth the trip, would come back in a heart beat!!! Thank you Uncle and everyone at the Stables!

It is such a relaxing ride along the coast as the waves crash along the shore and the breeze off the ocean keeps us cool. The staff has always chosen the perfect temperament horses for us and after our ride, my legs aren't killing me like it had on other rides. This is our go to place to ride when we are on Oahu!

This place is absolutely horrible. It was a waste of my time and gas to drive all the way out…read morethere. I made a reservation online for 6 people and 6 balls to rent. I wrote in the time that I wanted to start which was 1230 pm. I show up at 1230 exactly and go to check in at the outpost Hut. The 2 guys inside the Hut tell me they didn't see my reservation and they rented out all their balls to a group that just came in..... So...we had to WAIT until the group was finished to get the balls to play.... On top of that, I paid $10 per person to play, and the guy in the hut tells me there's only 6 or 7 holes available since they use the course to pop fireworks off of. New years was about a week ago!! You're telling me, you're too lazy to put back the holes for a whole week?! Cmon man..... Then, I ask for a cart to put all our stuff in and he tells me that they don't rent out carts but that I could get one at the golf hut. So my mom walks all the way over to the golf hut for them to tell her that they don't rent out golf carts for soccer golf......?! So then after all of this, the guy in the outpost hut tells me he will refund me the balls we rented as a way to make up the unfinished course and the time we had to wait for the balls to come back. That was nice of them.....except for the fact that he didn't do it!!! He was straight up lying. Bc i kept checking my account and I didn't see no refund pending from them.... So I waited 2-3 days then I finally call them back checking up on the refund. Explain the whole thing and I'm pretty sure the guy who answered the phone was the same guy who told me he would refund it to me the day of my reservation! So he puts me on hold and tells me that a manager has to be the one to refund me. So why did that guy in the outpost hut tell me he was refunding me if he really wasn't?!?! To top it all off, the course looks like crap. And they don't even have a score card to give you. Good thing I took a picture of their somewhat course layout so I knew where the heck I was going. The course is literally just grass that is so overgrown and bumpy that you cannot even call it foot golf. Save yourself time and don't go here.

We drove around different trails, got to see nice views and some animals along the way, which was cool. We came about a month after the storms, so the scenery wasn't at its absolute best, but that's totally understandable and not a complaint at all. It is pretty expensive though, around $130 per person, and feeding the animals was an extra $10 for small pellets to feed the cows and goats. The views and experience were still nice, but for the price, we expected the overall service to feel a little more polished. The main thing that stood out was the guides. We had two guides and they were both really quiet and awkward. They didn't really explain much or try to interact with us, which made the vibe feel uncomfortable at times. My boyfriend and I even tried making conversation, but they just weren't very chatty. It honestly felt kind of tense the whole ride. At the end, things got even more awkward because one of the guides basically disappeared without saying goodbye or telling us what to do next. We were just standing there confused with our gear, not knowing where to put anything or whether we were supposed to check out somewhere. The other guide mentioned they had just started working there and wasn't sure what the next steps were either, which is understandable, but it still felt a little unprofessional considering how much the experience cost. Also, when booking, there was a section asking if we were celebrating anything, and I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday. We weren't expecting anything free or over-the-top, but it would've been nice if someone had at least acknowledged it since they specifically asked during booking. Overall, the ATV ride and scenery were fun, but the customer service and overall organization definitely could've been better for the price point.

As mentioned in my other review about their sister property providing the surf ride, these horses are well cared for and are living high on the hog in Hawaii. This family owned business, which is managed by Emily at both properties, definitely takes pride in ownership with their money making herd and it shows with well maintained tack and stock; properly groomed, tacked, and shod horses; clean facilities and grounds; experienced trail guides; etc... This excursion is geared towards beginner riders for the safety of the rider and their stock, but intermediate and advanced riders can stay legged up themselves while on vacation without having to worry about doing the work that goes along with riding! #iykyk But if you're like me, you just want to live life between the ears, so you'll find a way to ride every chance you get! Helmets are non negotiable for insurance reasons, even for seasoned and experienced riders; but, it wasn't a deal breaker for me because it's their house, their rules. Be sure to ask about the surf and turf package if you're like me and one ride isn't enough! The tutorial at the beginning is informative and is explicit, direct instruction for the beginner, but don't be afraid to ask questions or for any help because everyone wants a fun, safe ride, and they're there to do just that!
