I'm so glad that I chose that time as it wasn't too hot/bright so it's cooler. We got there a little bit earlier than our appointed time, but Denise told us that we can start. She was very friendly, informative, and just a lovely person. I absolutely love love love the experience! We started with the bunnies first because they're so freakin' cute! We got to feed them as we brought some fruits and veggies from Safeway before we came. I picked one up and we got take some pics/videos with them. There were birds next to the bunnies and they were pretty. It was very sad hearing the story about one of the birds (I forgot the name of the bird.. sorry!) as he lived off his on poop for a couple years as his person passed away. It's the one that's always screeching/screaming. Then we visited the little bb cows (calves? Is that what they're called?), and I got to feed them the feed. Then we checked out the goats and sheeps. The goats were really aggressive with wanting to get the food, and they will bump into each other. Then we visited the ducks and piggies. There were also turkeys there as well. The fruits and veggies that we got from Safeway were strawberries, lettuce, and carrots. My ultimate favorite part was that they let us bottle feed the bb cows. There were like 4-6 big bottles of milk to feed the bb cows. I tried it first, and then I let my sis try, but she only lasted holding it for like 2 minutes until she said that it was too heavy. So I ended up doing that mostly which was really awesome! I absolutely loved it as it was such an amazing experience. Hehe.. Dear Denise, thank you so much for having this wonderful place that gives people opportunities to interact with these lovely animals! This place is truly a gem and a must-do for animal lovers when visiting Oahu! :)

We recently had an event on Leeward CC campus, and we wanted a petting zoo for the students to…read moreenjoy. Our original choice bailed out on us and we invited Nalo Keiki Paniolo and they jumped to the call and accepted our invite on short notice. We were able to book their Small Kine Zoo. They showed up on time and the students had a wonderful time being able to engage with their animals. It was especially memorable for our keiki from our Children's Center who wait so patiently to be first to experience a live petting zoo and receive some awesome education. We received great feedback from students and faculty that had the chance to experience the live petting zoo for the first time on campus. They also had the free hayride, entertainment, the pumpkin patch, sunflower patch, pony rides, and more! I love that they partner with organizations for great giveaways. My hubby won 2 RT airline tickets to anywhere Southwest flies on the mainland by winning a watermelon eating contest! Woop woop! They also had really cute staged areas for photo taking, tons of food vendors, a farmer's market, etc. You can't go wrong when there's something for everyone to do. Highly recommend checking this place out for Halloween time. Bring boots and plenty of water and sunscreen - it's hot out there, but always fun.

We went to Aloun Farms for the Fall Festival this year and overall had a nice time! It was great…read morethat the event was dog friendly. We brought our pup along and she loved exploring. The decorations were cute and festive, and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and welcoming. It was definitely crowded and a bit overwhelming, so we only stayed for about an hour. It was also really hot, which made it tough for both us and our dog. We walked around, grabbed some food, checked out the sunflowers and pumpkin patch, and then stopped by the farmers market store before heading out. The store service was quick, but one moment stood out. A young boy was trying his best to help us and do the math for our items when another staff member suddenly took over and told him, "You're going to the side. You're way too slow." It felt a little uncomfortable to witness, since the boy was clearly trying his best. I understand things can get busy, but it just didn't feel right to scold him in front of customers. Despite that, the festival itself was fun, the food and produce were great, and it's always nice to see local families and pets enjoying the day. We'll probably go again, maybe earlier in the morning next time when it's less crowded and cooler.

They have a little gift shop which sells their merch and delicious goat cheese and goat gelato. The cheeses are sold individually or in a four-flavor flight; along with crackers it made a delicious snack. We tried the four-flavor flight with crackers and boy were they good. Their big hit are their goat gelatos. They have quite a few flavors which were all very good. We got the chocolate and coffee flavors. It was very creamy with a slight twang. Very good!! After eating we bought some goat food and visited the goats. They also offer a tour which takes people behind the scenes to other areas of the farm. The drive out is not too bad. It's just past Kemo'o farms. Lots of signage leading to the farm. Big open lot to park. A great family friendly place to take the keikis and eat goatlato.

The horses were well attended to, treated with care, and the staff made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the experience. The trail ride itself was absolutely beautiful, and our guide shared lots of interesting information along the way, which made the ride even more enjoyable. The only thing I wish they did differently was stop at a few scenic spots along the trail to take pictures of each guest on their horse. There were so many beautiful views that would have made amazing photos and memories. Instead, the photos were taken on their phones and offered for purchase afterward. I would have loved having a few opportunities during the ride for the guide to take photos with our own phones, especially with such gorgeous scenery around us. Overall, it was a beautiful experience, the horses were clearly well cared for, and the staff made it obvious how much they love their jobs and the animals they work with. She rode a sweet horse named Tex and even got to feed him at the end. Our guide was awesome and made the whole experience fun and easy for us. The scenery was beautiful, the rides were so much fun, and we left with some great memories. Definitely recommend Gunstock Ranch if you're looking for a fun family adventure on Oahu!

Field Trip experience…read more Cost per student: $10 + $5 (bus transportation) Unit: Plants and Animals Hoa Aina Makaha is a non profit organization. When it first started high school students from Waianae and Nanakuli, who were unable to function in the classroom, came here to learn how to care about themselves through caring of the land with traditional Hawaiian Values. The program has expanded with Hoa Aina's Mission Statement, "Creating Peaceful Communities in Harmony with Nature, through the Eyes, Hands and Hearts of the Children." Makaha elementary students use the 5 acre farm daily and learn hands experience of how plant, take care, and harvest a plant. They are able to care for different animals. Public and private schools and the community is welcome to the farm. They offer different programs where you can learn how to grow your own garden. The school program is called Ke-Ala program. Our students went on the general tour. There is a Polynesia tour for older students. Ke-Ala Program- Before we entered the farm the students chanted an Oli along with the adults. Makaha farms sent us over the chant and we practiced it with our students before we arrived. We went along with another class and were split up in to two groups with a guide to show us around. One class went to the animals and the other went on a tour of the farm. Animals- The students enjoyed learning about the different animals. They had: Rabbits Fish Chickens Geese Ducks Goats Sheep Turtles Bees They also got to pet all of them and feed them. Tour of the farm: garden On this tour we got to see projects that the students from Makaha created. Kat our guide talked about the different plants. There were so many I couldn't remember all the names. We saw taro, jackfruit, cotton, banana trees, etc. During the tour we got to see, feed, and touch earthworms. After the tour around the farm the students got to plant their own sunflowers. Each student got to take this home. This farm is 5 acres, there is a lot more to see here then what we saw. Lunch The farm has a nice covered outdoor seating area. It has sinks next to it so the children could wash their hands before lunch. Last year we were able to harvest taro and replant it. Each student got to peddle a bike, which turned a blender, and we made smoothies. They used different fruits from around the farm and kalo. The students and adults really enjoyed it. Overall, it's a great educational experience for the kids. The tour guides speak age appropriately to the children. It's a wonderful field trip to attend with your children. The only downfall is its a bit pricey.

She then raised her voice at me and told me if I feel bad for the horse, she is going to "put" me on a different horse if I keep saying things like that. Below is a video attached of this incident. She knew I connected with the horse earlier and that I genuinely wanted to ride him. I felt threatened when I expressed my concern about hurting him.. I live on the island and I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family based on how she made us feel. Everyone else at the stables was very nice. I honestly feel bad because my friend also heard her barking orders at her co workers in a very rude manner. She also felt uncomfortable.

I was a little afraid of the negative reviews, but they were the only option so I closed the deal and made a deposit. I couldn't be happier! Sandra was very easy to talk to while planning the party and she was a delight on the day of the party as well! She was great with the kids, arrived on time, and everyone had a blast! You can tell she really cares for the animals and she had a hard time taking care of them during the pandemic, so I was happy to support her business, and I'll definitely hire her again for a petting zoo or something like that.
