This was a good experience. I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday and we did have fun, but the whole experience also felt kind of awkward. The ATV ride itself was enjoyable. We drove around different trails, got to see nice views and some animals along the way, which was cool. We came about a month after the storms, so the scenery wasn't at its absolute best, but that's totally understandable and not a complaint at all. It is pretty expensive though, around $130 per person, and feeding the animals was an extra $10 for small pellets to feed the cows and goats. The views and experience were still nice, but for the price, we expected the overall service to feel a little more polished. The main thing that stood out was the guides. We had two guides and they were both really quiet and awkward. They didn't really explain much or try to interact with us, which made the vibe feel uncomfortable at times. My boyfriend and I even tried making conversation, but they just weren't very chatty. It honestly felt kind of tense the whole ride. At the end, things got even more awkward because one of the guides basically disappeared without saying goodbye or telling us what to do next. We were just standing there confused with our gear, not knowing where to put anything or whether we were supposed to check out somewhere. The other guide mentioned they had just started working there and wasn't sure what the next steps were either, which is understandable, but it still felt a little unprofessional considering how much the experience cost. Also, when booking, there was a section asking if we were celebrating anything, and I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday. We weren't expecting anything free or over-the-top, but it would've been nice if someone had at least acknowledged it since they specifically asked during booking. Overall, the ATV ride and scenery were fun, but the customer service and overall organization definitely could've been better for the price point. read more

We booked the Beachfront ATV, Farm Animals & Native Hawaiian Plant Experience, and had a great time! Our tour guide, Shavel, was friendly and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. It was our daughter's first time on an ATV, and she absolutely loved it. We got to feed a few farm animals, stop at several scenic spots for photos, and enjoy riding around the property. While the experience was fun, there wasn't much information shared about the farm or the native Hawaiian plants, so if you're expecting an educational tour, keep that in mind. At the end of the tour, Shavel offered us ice cream and drinks, which was a thoughtful surprise. They also provided wet towels to help clean off the dust, which we really appreciated after the ride. There are portable restrooms on-site as well, which was convenient. Overall, it was a fun, family-friendly experience that I'd recommend, especially for younger kids or first-time ATV riders. Really cool and fun activity at the north shore area. Definitely wear comfortable clothes, close toe shoes that you dont mind getting dirty. They give you some time to drive around a track to just have fun, feed some cows and hangout with some cute goats lol. We randomly wanted to an ATV tour and came across North Shore Stables. Honestly, best decision to come and do the tour. Our guide and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The ride was super fun! It had rained so it was a bit muddy, but that made it even more fun with the puddles. They do have boots you can rent if you want. I highly recommend getting the animal feed because feeding the animals was so much fun, specially the goats who come straight up to you. Omg, so much fun. We booked our activity less than 24 hours in advance and surprisingly, we were able to get a spot. We came out for a company outing, and our experience from beginning to end was awesome! Natalie was our guide and she made this whole experience so worthwhile & so fun!! So fun! Everything was very thorough and I love the history behind how they changed this part of the island around! Do expect to get muddy towards the end! There's sprinklers mixed with the mud, but that was definetly the best part. There's a little course where they let you speed around which was a nice change of pace! There also some animal feed which is worth buying! So many cute goats! I wish i bought two one for the cows and then one for the goats! Had an amazing time. I'm so use To ATVs out of the country which are usually all day or half day excursions but this hour ride was fun and the laps around the track made it better. Established in 2021.

Despite being a recognized cultural site, the 67 acre property had fallen into neglect, serving as a dump and homeless camp for decades. Today, it has been transformed through dedicated efforts, with invasive weeds cleared organically using goats, pigs, sheep, cows, and chickens. Native Hawaiian shoreline plants now thrive here, and sustainable, organic farming practices have brought the land back to life, honoring its cultural significance and natural beauty.

Aloha and Mahalo for visiting us at North shore Stables to take an ATV ride around our 67 acre ocean front property. Our passion is restoration of the aina (land) through sustainable and traditional practices. They showed up on time and the students had a wonderful time being able to engage with their animals. We walked around, grabbed some food, checked out the sunflowers and pumpkin patch, and then stopped by the farmers market store before heading out. The store service was quick, but one moment stood out. A young boy was trying his best to help us and do the math for our items when another staff member suddenly took over and told him, "You're going to the side. You're way too slow." It felt a little uncomfortable to witness, since the boy was clearly trying his best. I understand things can get busy, but it just didn't feel right to scold him in front of customers. Despite that, the festival itself was fun, the food and produce were great, and it's always nice to see local families and pets enjoying the day. We'll probably go again, maybe earlier in the morning next time when it's less crowded and cooler.

When it first started high school students from Waianae and Nanakuli, who were unable to function in the classroom, came here to learn how to care about themselves through caring of the land with traditional Hawaiian Values. The program has expanded with Hoa Aina's Mission Statement, "Creating Peaceful Communities in Harmony with Nature, through the Eyes, Hands and Hearts of the Children." Makaha elementary students use the 5 acre farm daily and learn hands experience of how plant, take care, and harvest a plant. They are able to care for different animals. Public and private schools and the community is welcome to the farm. They offer different programs where you can learn how to grow your own garden. The school program is called Ke-Ala program. Our students went on the general tour. There is a Polynesia tour for older students. Ke-Ala Program- Before we entered the farm the students chanted an Oli along with the adults. Makaha farms sent us over the chant and we practiced it with our students before we arrived. We went along with another class and were split up in to two groups with a guide to show us around. One class went to the animals and the other went on a tour of the farm. Animals- The students enjoyed learning about the different animals. They had: Rabbits Fish Chickens Geese Ducks Goats Sheep Turtles Bees They also got to pet all of them and feed them. Tour of the farm: garden On this tour we got to see projects that the students from Makaha created. Kat our guide talked about the different plants. There were so many I couldn't remember all the names. We saw taro, jackfruit, cotton, banana trees, etc. During the tour we got to see, feed, and touch earthworms. After the tour around the farm the students got to plant their own sunflowers. Each student got to take this home. This farm is 5 acres, there is a lot more to see here then what we saw. Lunch The farm has a nice covered outdoor seating area. It has sinks next to it so the children could wash their hands before lunch. Last year we were able to harvest taro and replant it. Each student got to peddle a bike, which turned a blender, and we made smoothies. They used different fruits from around the farm and kalo. The students and adults really enjoyed it. Overall, it's a great educational experience for the kids. The tour guides speak age appropriately to the children. It's a wonderful field trip to attend with your children. The only downfall is its a bit pricey.

I live on the island and I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family based on how she made us feel. Everyone else at the stables was very nice. I honestly feel bad because my friend also heard her barking orders at her co workers in a very rude manner. She also felt uncomfortable.

The north shore is beautiful , serene and tranquil. It is not crowded and super touristy like the Waikiki beach (which is also nice). They have many activities like horse riding and atv-ing. I personally did ATV and the scenery and panoramic beach view was beautiful. Pure beautiful unadulterated coast line and whit sand. A lot of the ATV tour passes by the beach and shows an expansive view of everything. The staff is also very helpful and helps explain every thing regarding the rules and how to best enjoy the activity, and they are big on safety. They do a good demo and they have a a good tv tutorial on how to use the ATV and there is dedicated staff in the front and back guiding people along the way to make sure everyone is included and are here to help when necessary. Given that the place is rural and many acres and far away from downtown Honolulu means that there is no internet. However, there is nothing to worry about because star link has got you covered with great access to internet throughout the property. Good for calling and internet searching and everything in between. Also, asides from the ATV Ride being exhilarating and awesome and the views beautiful , the other thing to keep in mind is that the place has a rich history of being a place for sugar agriculture and a sanctuary for endangered fish. The staff discusses the history of the land in detail and even shows you nice stuff on their property like pigs and horses. In addition to the beach views, the large tropics clowns with the large mountains and expansive beach views makes the experience very peaceful. They even have free refreshments and snacks and drinks they give to participants and bathrooms on site that are tidy and clean. It is fun for all Kinds of People and going here both as a resident or citizen of Hawaii or a vacationer. And family friends. Overall, highly recommend. I had such a great time at North Shore Stables for their 4-wheeling adventure! The whole experience felt really well put together from start to finish. The check-in was easy, the staff were welcoming, and our guides made sure everyone felt comfortable before heading out. The ride itself was fun--bumpy enough to feel adventurous, but still safe and beginner-friendly. The scenery was gorgeous with mountain backdrops and ocean views, and I loved the stops along the way to meet and feed the farm animals. Fun family experience. you will get dirty! bring a change of clothes otherwise it will be all on your seats (red clay dirt) Also make sure to use the restrooms before you ride for there are no restrooms along the way. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Wasn't sure if my son, who's 8 would be able to ride an ATV on his own but they let him do a little test ride to see if he's able to operate the ATV and he PASSED! so he was super exited to ride by himself. they explained how to operate it before taking off, so don't worry. Take your phone for there will be stops for you to take pictures. Tell the tour guide if they can take some action videos and they will air drop it to you after. you will then stop to feed the goats and cows (I got to hold the goat because it had gotten out and I picked it up hehe ). The last thing we did was plant a tree that helped with something (I forgot) but that was cool to do. when turning in your helmet they have ICE COLD wash clothes waiting for you to rinse your face or to just cool down (felt soo good) & if you leave a YELP review you get a free ice cream! Location is a littlw difficult to find based on google directions but we were warned about this when they emailed us a confirmation email. Once we arrived we were wonderfully greeted. My son and I had to wait for the rest of our group members to arrive so we utilized the many activities they had to do while we waited. They have all the items you will need to ride if you forgot any items. There are many animals on the property and they provide you with feed for the animals. Our tour guide provided us with some historical information about the area we were in and some of the original uses for the trails. I love hearing about the history about the places I visit. My 11 yr old son was supposed to ride a small bike but he asked if he could ride the larger ATV because he already is an experienced rider and our guide obliged. This made him very happy. The trail and ride is great for all level of riders. They have an area that you can go faster (at your own comfort level). The guide made us feel comfortable and safe. We had a very small group which made the ride much nicer. My son and I would do this again! read more

North shore Stables surpassed my expectations. We drove from Honolulu and allowed for a lot of extra time. Traffic moves slower than the posted speed limit in many areas. The property is beautiful with lots going on. Cute farm animals like goats, chickens, a pig, rabbits, and miniature horses. The staff couldn't be friendlier. There's ATVs, places to Airbnb, there was a wedding going on while we rode to the lookout. I owned a horse for five years until recently, so I can tell when staff are competent and horses are cared for. These horses are loved and respected. We were originally supposed to ride on Thursday but there was a lot of rain. I got a call by 8 am asking to cancel or reschedule and they were incredibly accommodating. They said the safety of the horses was of utmost importance. I was also impressed that they required helmets regardless of rider experience. So many places don't acknowledge how dangerous riding can be. I would happily go again. read more

Our visit to North Shore Stables was truly unforgettable! I brought my niece, and we had the most incredible day filled with adventure, connection, and beautiful memories. We started with ATV riding, which was such a thrill and the scenery was stunning. Then we got to feed the animals The goats, cows, pigs each one cuter than the next! It was such a joy seeing my niece light up around them. One of the most sentimental parts of the experience was getting to plant a plant together. It was such a simple, grounding moment, but so meaningful. Definitely a memory we'll both cherish forever. We absolutely loved North shore stables!!! My family and I did the horseback riding/ATV package. Check in was easy! We were a bit early so we got to feed the animals that are located near the entrance. We loved that! Red and Baylee were our horseback riding instructors. They were very helpful and very informative about the area we were riding around. The views were beautiful! Shortly after we went on the ATVs!!! We didn't catch the names of the two gentleman that we had as instructors but they were awesome!! Very helpful with my daughter, that was a plus! My husband and I chatted with them a bit during photo time and afterwards. Gave us some great recommendations on lunch spots which we enjoyed! I believe Adam is the one who took our photos and our photos turned out great! We loved every minute of the visit. I highly recommended lots of sunscreen and clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty in! The atv will have you leaving muddy :) read more

If I could I wouldnt even give them a 1 star review. But a 1 star is all I could give them. When my family came to hawaii we were really excited to be able to get some lessons on the beach to learn how to ride horses. This has got to be THE WORST vacation I have ever been on because of this place. Came here on my last day on island and seeing how this place was ran by the owner is horrible. The owner was mistreating his employees, heard him calling them "fing retards" and that they dont know how to do anything while all he was doing was riding around on his golf cart not doing anything to help them. Also the place was really badly kept and the animals looked like they havent eaten in along time. The owner didnt care that we were there and it seemed like he could care less if anyone was there or not. I HIGHLY recommend to TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE! Did this ATV experience for my friend's bachelor as one of our activities during a weekend stay in Oahu. 45-50 minute drive North-west if you're staying in any of the hotels in Honolulu. North Shore Stables has a large sign at the beginning of the stable and will take you to a parking lot with no pavement. Our group had 15 people and I would say this was a perfect activity to celebrate for larger groups. Our tour guide, Brandy, was excellent in guiding us through the stable which was accompanied by large fields, feeding farm animals (goats, cattle), seeing beach views, and riding through two tracks for ATV enjoyment. The tour and tracking was about an hour. Be prepared to get dusty and dirty, but still definitely a worthwhile experience if you're looking for an activity in the northern part of Oahu. Cannot recommend enough! This was the most genuine, fun, authentic experience. The staff are incredibly friendly, the vibes are super laid back (but still safety-minded), the views were beautiful, the track portion was super fun, we got to stop and play with the farm animals, and at the end they had cold towels, chilled drinks, and ice creams/popsicles for us for free. The entire thing was SO much fun - my friend who lives on the island said she definitely will be coming back with her family and friends! Had a blast. One of the few spots that lets you drive your own ATV, we got to ride around the property and through the nature preserve. After a short safety video, they took us down a path where we crossed the water and got to see the bay, ending up near a bunch of goats and cows that we all got to feed. Afterwards, we hit a dope track where we got to do a bunch of runs. Shout out to Jose, who saw me struggling behind some folks going slow (nothing wrong with that for them!), he must've been able to tell it wasn't my first time on 4 wheels cause he had me go through a shortcut, and I was able to rip off a few sets, even an extra run around the track with no one in front of me. It was dope. Afterwards, you can sign a name to be planted in their honor. The whole thing took about an hour, would def recommend. read more

One of our favorite surprises was getting to enjoy fresh snacks from the farm, including apple bananas, dried apple bananas and delicious tomatoes. Everything was fresh and tasty with plenty of water stations along the way. We even got to hold a chameleon, which was such a fun unexpected part of the experience. The views, the adventure, the guides, and all of the little extras made this a memorable experience for our family. We had a blast and will definitely be going back on our next trip.

At one point, I refused to even look down into the ocean but then my son tapped me and pointed... and there it was a shark swimming right toward us. I almost passed out! Even though I was terrified, it turned into such an amazing memory. My son had the best time and is already asking to come back again. That alone made it all worth it. Huge appreciation to the staff they were professional, supportive and made us feel safe the whole time. Plus, we got some really cool pictures to remember it by! We saw a few tiger sharks (one was Nikki), a sandbar, and a few galapagos. They were massive!!! I always felt safe, nervous but safe!! We boarded a small boat and I believe they only take 6 at a time, which I totally loved. They do have a photographer on board, they charge $75 extra per person for pictures, I do regret not paying extra for the photos. Just splurge for the photos!! We had a great time, I definitely recommend using Go adventure for this excursion!!

What an amazing experience!…read more We booked for the 9:30 glow paddle and got a call around 5pm asking if we would switch to the 7:30. No big deal, we were happy to switch. We are a family of three, and I guess that's the cut off from other reviews. We showed up to the meeting spot at the time we were told and were met by our guide. Come to find out, the other people booked for the tour had cancelled, so it was just us! We got on our boards and got going. We learned so much! And being it was only our little family, we got to ask so many questions and go at our pace. We paddled around and got to go under water falls. Our guide was so kind and so knowledgeable. After we were done we were super hungry and headed to L&L for some plates. I wish we would have gotten to the PCC just a little earlier so we could have enjoyed the food trucks or other dinner options on site. We will definitely recommend to anyone who comes to visit us!
