Between our group we had beef tacos, fish, shrimp and a combination nachos with plenty of habanero salsa on the side! This was one of our favorite places we ate while in Mexico and the great service from Victor was a huge part of that! He treated us to drink specials and some fresh pico de gallo while we waited. My nachos were similar to chilaquiles because the chips were coated in a sauce (although it seemed to be a black bean paste) and they were good! They now have a beautiful space on the west side of the the highway about half way from Akumal to Tulum. The restaurant is clean and open. They a a nice garden area courtyard as well. The staff is attentive and efficient. Virginia the hostess was absolutely amazing and friendly. Her family has owned the business for decades. Our waiter was Alfredo who was excellent. All the food was well prepared and presented nicely. Everything we had was delicious. It's definitely aimed a bit more for the North American palette but this does not mean it wasn't really good because it was. Cocktails were made with fresh fruit juices and were top notch. I highly recommend Oscar & Lalo to anyone who is staying in the area or passing by to or from Tulum.

We had…read more* our go-to soft shell crab tacos- lightly breaded and served with local edible leaf as a taco shell * prawns with curry sauce- perfectly grilled with the head on * grilled octopus * scallop ceviche that was amazingly presented and seasoned, served with in-house crackers * sea bass filet * dessert- coconut/passionfruit/ mango ice cream served in a husk. Great mixture of flavors! Chocolate ice cream - beautifully presented and some rich chocolate ice cream as well, and another dessert that I forgot. So maybe that one may be just okay LOL * drinks - Miami Nice (passionfruit) and a no name drink that the resto blends into a clear drink, served with a guava block. You take a piece of the guava block and leave it on your tongue, and sip your drink. Very very smooth! Would highly recommend this unknown drink. Michelin starred, reservations highly recommended. Better to come without heels since the flooring is made out of pebbles, dim lighting contributing to the dining experience, and fantastic service.

They have a number of rooms that can accommodate 15 to 20 people in an intimate setting. The roof top view is cool if you are a people watcher. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.
