When we asked if we could have the chain appraised, the exchange went as follows: Customer: Can I get this appraised here? Employee: Yes, but I just work here. So no, I can't do that for you. Customer: (confused) Okay, so then how does an appraisal work? Employee: The jeweler. He's the professional, and he does that. And I told you he wasn't here. At no point prior to this did she inform us that the jeweler was unavailable. Instead, the interaction came across as dismissive, unprofessional, and unnecessarily rude--leaving the impression that she had no interest in earning our business.
