I live in SC and was getting married in SF where my wife is from and he and his team made the entire process very easy. They sent me videos of all the different types of diamonds we were considering as well as which type of ring the diamond would lay in. My wife, like many women, had a specific idea in mind which I only knew vaguely (wanted to surprise her rather than have her pick it out/know that I was buying a ring) and Alon knew exactly where to go with the little amount of details I gave him along with a description of what my wife likes/doesn't like. It worked, she absolutely loved the ring! When she went back home to pick out her wedding bands a few months prior to the wedding he made sure to immediately take her ring and make it look like the first day she wore it and helped her find the perfect wedding bands that she wanted. All of this was at a very reasonable price. They offered a 12 month interest free finance policy (separate policies for the ring and the bands) which made it very possible and stress-free to pay off everything without interest. Alon gave my wife a lot of great tips on how to best care for her ring and the day before our wedding he made sure to get the ring to clean it again. All in all, it was a great experience and we were very satisfied to work with Alon and his team.

I recently purchased a limited edition Seiko Prospex watch for $3,100. Despite the price point, the item I received was clearly a display model that had been previously handled. It arrived without the original hang tags or any of the protective stickers that are standard and expected for a high-end timepiece of this caliber. When I contacted customer service for an explanation, I was directed to a web developer who denied the facts of the situation and claimed that all watches are shipped in this condition. The lack of professional expertise and the refusal to acknowledge the condition of the watch is unacceptable for a luxury retailer. I would advise looking elsewhere for any significant jewelry or watch purchases, as my experience indicates a significant lack of quality control and professional customer support.

My experience with this store has not been great when it comes to watches…read more The watch currently runs worse than what it did when I brought it in as it only works for about 5-10 seconds max before it stops. It is effectively a paperweight or worse, garbage. Your customer service is not good considering how many times I had to keep checking in on you to keep things moving along. You forgot about my watch and let it sit in your store, you forgot about me, and worst, charged about $500 to work on a watch which your contracted watch repairman did not fix. Neither you nor the watch repairman called me to extend funds. You just brought it back as is because everyone knew they were out of their league for this repair. I looked your employees right in the eyes and said if your watch guy can't do the repair then don't take the job. You never told me that, not even now, and you proceeded to tell me he could handle it. Your stories don't add up because I talked with him. Let's introduce them so everyone has some skin in this game: Anderson Horology. He posted my watch shortly after "fixing" it like some kind of a triumph, even though he neglected to tell his facebook audience the watch was little more then a paperweight. You told me you ran out of money to do the spring calculation. He told me he did not want to work on it further because he felt it would damage the historical value of the watch? He made many parts that go inside the watch. So you see the multiple levels of hypocrisy here. It's a cheap throw away excuse you use when your in over your head and have charged a customer to work on something. You guys couldn't even tell me what work was done *consistently* so you handed me his FB account to try and wash your hands of the issue. My normal watch repairman took a look at Andersons work and he tells me a different story that is much more grim for both of you though he knows where his limits are when it comes to repairs. Very sad and pathetic; I expected more from everyone involved. I will not recommend or bring anything back to Bechtolds or Anderson Horology anytime soon.

I even found rattail (kumihimo - Japanese braiding) on sale for a future project. The owner was behind the counter when I was there and had some great suggestions for finishing my project. The shop is downtown in the "historical" shopping district and parking is on the street. I had a little trouble maneuvering the one way streets. The shop is on the small and narrow side, and I agree with another reviewer that with a few customers or a class inside, it will feel crowded.
