    Eyebrow threading
    Leah M.

Came here to get my eyebrows threaded (I usualy don't get them threaded because I feel they come out thinner than waxing) Despite the fact, they came out absolutely beautiful! I keep getting compliments on them. This will definitely be my go to place now.

I liked Anita, the owner, and I wanted to like this salon. That said, I am very unhappy with my hair experience. I think this spa is probably best for other treatments or very simple/straightforward hair changes. I was platinum blonde earlier in the year and I have been trying to blend my natural color to the ends and blend the blonde up towards the root. So, think highlights and lowlights. I have been coming to this salon for hair services since earlier this year. Their services are cheaper than most of the Aveda salons in the area, and they are right nearby my house so I thought this would be a good, convenient solution. In July I had a service with Anita (low lights) but my hair was still not blended enough (still very visible difference between the top and the bottom of my hair) after she finished so I came back for more low lights. The way she did this though (density of lowlights) my hair then became much too dark. I didn't say anything because I liked Anita, and I didn't want to trouble her. And I thought my hair would lighten up over time, which it did. Not the best hair experience, but not the worst either. It was okay. Early November I came in for more highlights. I probably should have gone somewhere else since my first experience was only okay but I was hopeful this time would be better. My hair was still too dark from July and a fair amount of new growth had happened. I wanted to be highlighted blonde throughout. This time, she lifted my hair naturally through the root because she didn't want to damage my hair but it didn't lift very much and I couldn't see much of a change in my hair color after she finished. It still looked very dark through the top and sides and I continued to have what looked like an ombre not a full blonde highlight. I let it go. I tried to like it. But over the course of the month it bothered me more and more. This was not what I wanted. So, I came back a month later (first week in December) for more highlights throughout. I had tried to come the week earlier but had had a scheduling issue. I decided to get a mini partial highlight this time so I could increase the blonde highlights not knowing really knowing what that service was, but feeling like the $220 I spent the first time and $70 this time was plenty enough money to spend, not including tipping. I am sorry I left the salon without seeing my hair fully dry. Anita took pictures and a video of the top of my hair while it was still somewhat wet. It looked good on top/damp. But, then I went home and dried my hair and pulled it back and realized that when my hair looked like a blonde toupee because all of the blonde was right down the center of my head at a high density (and more highlights were put on one side of hair than the other). In addition there was a thick patch of blonde right in the front that was not blended in with a harsh line above the root. Also, the blondes were not toned to match each other. The blonde was warm at the top but the blonde at the bottom was still cool. I wanted a warm blonde highlight throughout. In general, Anita puts too many high/low lights in your hair so that you are either very light or too dark, and I think this is a technique problem. Also, Anita may do what you ask, but don't expect that she will be able to provide advice or direction about your hair. She didn't explain to me what a mini partial was, warn me that this was what it was going to look like (stripe of blonde down the middle), or explain that my hair was going to have two different blondes in it if I wanted to be warmer blonde. She should have said if you want to be blonde throughout (and we did look at a couple pictures) you need a pay for a full highlight, which would have been a repeat of the service I had earlier in the month. Had she said that, honestly, I probably would have walked out, and I think she knew that, so she took the money for the mini partial because it was an opportunity for her to make more money. I think instinctively she must have known the mini partial was not going to achieve the look I wanted, which is why I am angry and why I feel cheated and why I am writing this review now. Although Anita offered to add in a few more highlights for free and to put low lights where there is a patch of blonde at the top, instead, I asked for my money back on the recent service so that I could go somewhere else. She would not agree to do that, even though I now have to go get my hair fixed at another salon. When I add up the services as this other salon and Anita's salon I will have spent about $500 on my hair in about a month, not to mention, expending a fair amount of my personal time. As they say, you get what you pay for. Why can't I learn this simple lesson?

It's now the day after and my skin feels dull, unlike facials I've received at other businesses. If I had gotten the $80 microexfoliation add on maybe this would be different but I had a double cleanse, exfoliant, extractions and moisturizer that just didn't satisfy me. The extractions focused on my nose and were more painful than those I've experienced before. I had an active breakout on my cheek that I was surprised to have popped while congestion on my chin was left unaddressed. Red light therapy was gifted to me but I think if not I would've left with a very irritated and flushed face. While treatments/products were sitting on my face, I have a feeling my facialist was just sitting on her phone rather than giving a massage or anything. Overall this felt like a budget experience meriting a cost of maybe $70 tops for the less than 45 minutes I was in the chair. I'm giving this two stars rather than one only because they were able to accommodate me and a guest at the end of the day on short notice (called at noon and seen at 4), and I want to give the benefit on the doubt that service is better toward regular customers. Given this is a chain I would recommend patronizing a smaller salon with further trained estheticians.

After the procedure, the aesthetician blamed the machine/equipments for malfunctions. I then went to see Dr. Sandhu, and she BLAMED ME for getting burned because I was SWEATING. Both times, I was being lied to about what went wrong and who was at fault. At the time of the appointment I didn't know what to expect from the whole procedure. It was only when I went to a different medical spa, that also had TruscupltID, was I told the truth about the whole incident. I told the nurse my whole experience with Neem Spa, and she told me exactly what happened: The aesthetician left the grounding pad on 1 area for too long. To reduce risk of burning she was suppose to change the location of the grounding pad for each targeted area. So she was suppose to change the location of grounding pad 3 times because I was treating 3 different areas(my stomach, flanks, and arms). Dr. Sandhu refused to give me a full refund and still denies any negligence on her staff's part of the procedure.

The first incident happened during a Clear + Brilliant appointment. I was left sitting with numbing cream on my face for an entire hour before I finally went into the nurse's office to ask if I had been forgotten. She apologized, and while she was kind, I lost an hour of my time. I chose not to leave a review because I assumed she was simply overbooked, and I didn't want to blame an individual for what seemed like a scheduling issue. Unfortunately, today's experience confirmed that the problem is with LaserAway's organization. I arrived for my 11:00 a.m. appointment only to find out the clinic wasn't opening until noon because a nurse couldn't come in until later. The issue isn't that something unexpected happened--it's that no one communicated this to me beforehand. They admitted they should have notified me, but by then I had already driven there and rearranged my day. As an athlete, I can only schedule these treatments on my one day off each week because I can't work out for 24 hours afterward. Morning appointments are already extremely difficult to book, so having one wasted because of poor communication is incredibly frustrating. What disappoints me most isn't just the mistakes--it's how they're handled. Both times I received an apology, but there was no meaningful effort to make things right. Good customer service isn't about never making mistakes; it's about how you respond when you do. The only reason I continue coming here is because I prepaid for my treatments. Once I've used them all, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a place to start laser or skincare treatments, I would recommend choosing a local clinic that values your time and communicates with its clients. Based on my experience, LaserAway has been disorganized, unprofessional, and disappointing.

In my past Sephora experiences, whenever an item I've wanted has been out of stock, an employee would offer me an alternative product, a product sample, and/or offer to order the product for me, but this employee did none of that. The technicians did a good job, and I was happy with the final results. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the premium prices being charged. If you're positioning yourself as a luxury salon, the entire customer experience should reflect that. The salon floor had nail clippings scattered around, which made the space feel unclean, and the restroom toilet was not working during my visit. The salon was very busy, so there was a long wait between my manicure and pedicure. While I understand that delays can happen, I was simply left sitting without any communication or updates. A quick explanation or estimate of the wait would have gone a long way. It also seemed that the salon could benefit from stronger management and additional support staff. The technicians appeared focused on providing services, but there didn't seem to be anyone dedicated to keeping the salon clean, assisting customers, or ensuring that operations ran smoothly. The quality of the manicure and pedicure is why I'm giving this salon a positive review overall. However, improving cleanliness, communication, and customer service would make the experience much more consistent with the prices they charge.
