Maria always listens carefully to my issues regarding my hair. My hair is unruly, curly, and then frizz. I like this color then let's change it the next moment. I'm 70 years old and have done my time with Hair Salons ie NewYork, Hollywood CA, Newbury Street, Copley, Harvard Square it's endless disappointments indeed. DO NOT GO SEE NICOLE! I got the worst haircut of my life from her. She does not listen AT ALL. I went in after growing my hair out for 6 months. It was long enough that I could put most of it in a ponytail. I told her I was growing my hair out and that I wanted it cleaned up and thinned at the bottom a little. This is what she did to me. I'm so livid. She did much the same to my daughter who has curly hair and now vaguely resembles a frigging q-tip. Then they smiled and said the price had gone up so we paid $90 for the pleasure of being butchered. read more

She does a great job, the prices are super reasonable, and they use Paul Mitchell (no animal testing!!). So I usually get my hair done by my mother (who works part-time at a hair salon) ... Well I recently moved to the area and desperately needed a trim. You see I have short hair so once it starts growing out it looks crazy if I don't keep up with it. I was a bit discouraged by my roommate who told me she had been living in the area for two years and had been unable to find "the perfect" hairstylist. I Googled places like crazy and eventually settled on Bella Capelli (this was without checking reviews as I was desperate to find a place and this one just happened to be down the street from me). Needless to say it was the best uninformed decision I ever made! Jackie, was awesome! She listened to me, I mean, ACTUALLY listened to me. And waited for me to finish! After I told her exactly what I wanted to summarized it and gave me helpful advice on letting it grow out. She told me how she had had a similar hair cut and the best way to let it grow out but still look stylish was "such and such." I left there very happy and pleased. Spa services - specifically waxing. I even waited over a month to write this review, to let residual endorphins from the waxing go away. I'm not a frequent user of these services. I hadn't found a good place in Boston to do this, so I perused Yelp and started with the best rated. I had mixed results, including one phone call that led to a ragey review because they yelled at me! See below. Anyway. They were accommodating to my needs for hard wax (instead of yelling at me like other salons that hard wax was unsanitary). Seriously, I cannot use the strips, anywhere. This salon was very helpful and had exactly what I needed. Simple lesson: they take the hard wax out with a popsicle stick. They apply it. They rip it off, they throw it out. No used wax touches the new wax. One place I went used a ladle and a styrofoam cup, this place used a new popsicle stick for each dip. Either way, it's clean. She was meticulous in her work. I was not disappointed. Her name is Adriana. I will see her again. Friendly to your tender bits. read more

I visited Bella Capelli West again today for another lovely pedicure by their newest employees whome I have grown to love coming to see for bi biweekly shellac manicures and occasional pedicures too! I love their services, prices, and overall experience whenever I visit the salon. In the past and even recently, I have been very happy also with getting my hair washed and styled and each time my hair has come out great! It's nice knowing I can visit this salon which is located right down the street from my house and get great services! I just went here as a walk in, and I was really happy! I got a haircut from Christina, and she was fantastic. Very friendly, she completely understood what I wanted, and she gave me exactly what I was hoping for. The price was excellent, and everyone working there was very friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and the cut I got was as good (or better) as what I've been getting at James Joseph, but at a much better price and with friendlier, more personable service. read more

Nice hair cut and color. The salon could be cleaner though, I wish it was a little neater and it would seem more professional. My stylist was extremely nice but somehow talked me in to something I didn't think I wanted (it looks good, I just don't know how what I asked for was translated in to what I got). Also not all the hair dye/shampoo/conditioner was washed out of my hair so it felt heavy and greasy for the rest of the day. Still, the prices are great and the service was good. read more

I've been here a few times now for mani/pedis and I love this place. I've called them and been able to get appointments without much notice - they are really accommodating. The first time I went here, I accidentally went to the wrong location (their other location is in Medford Square) so I ended up being late. They were really understanding and nice about it. Courtney is hands-down the most meticulous, calming esthetician I have ever encountered. I go every other week for the shellac mani, and have gotten pedicures and a facial in the past. I've been going to Bella Capelli West for a couple years now. I followed my stylist from another salon - she's been cutting my hear for the better part of 19 years. I've found all of the staff at Bella Capelli West to be attentive to their guests. They care about the quality of their service. They're efficient, but make it a really wonderful experience no matter what service is being provided. Staff have willingly stepped up when a service was needed for which we (my daughters and I) didn't necessarily have an appointment. I've never been unhappy with any service or any staff! I am very happy to tell people where we have go for our hair, eye brows, etc. Definitely check it out!! read more

I went for a blow out/curls on Saturday-very busy. It was ok. I made my appointment well in advance because I had a formal event to get to that night and wanted a specific time. A few days before they called asking if I could come in earlier. From what I could tell it was so that they could finagle appointments around have someone's color set while I was getting my blow out. I know a blow out wouldn't take precedent but I did feel completely rushed through. I don't even know how dry my hair was when she started the curls. Needless to say the curls didn't really last the night. I am sure they are great for other services, and they seem to be reasonably priced, but I wouldn't bother for something as simple as a blow out. read more

Courtney does my shellac and she is AMAZING. It lasts for a long time and she's so careful about how she does it. I like, too that she'll tell me I need to wait before getting it again b/c my nails aren't in good enough shape to get it done. i live close to Bella Capelli West and have been here multiple times. i normally just walk in or call that day so i dont see anyone in particular. the first few times i saw christina. . christina is ok. . she lacks in personality and gives off a beastly vibe. i went in on a tuesday and got Jillian. . she is AMAZING! and gave me exactly what i want. then i went in on a thursday and jillian was not working :( so i got Tina! :) she is also amazing! if you want to feel like you belong and love your hair.. go to Jillian or Tina! read more
