Wow, I was completely impressed with Kaysi Beauty and may never go to Sally's Beauty Supply again, unless I have to. This store is VAST! And they had an amazing selection of everything I was looking for [mostly]. I needed a bonnet, and there were almost too many to choose between, but I finally picked on. It was $3.99, about half the price I paid for a bonnet at Sally's. I also purchased a small pack of rubberbands, and a specific kind of Eco Gel. Since the store is so big, I did ask for help finding things, and the sales associate there was very helpful in directing me, and later in answering my inane questions and providing advice. Everything I bought was less than $10, so that was exciting. Will definitely return! read more

I like it for the selection. Great selection, great brands. What I do not like are the prices. This is the third time that I have been when the prices that are on the display or the product are not what is on the receipt after paying. It is interesting that you can't see the prices as the items are being rung up, very important. First time I was too far gone to turn back around. Second time it was about $5 dollars difference between three items. The manager made the refund and apologized. This last time when I mentioned the $1 difference after having paid, the manager (I guess) comes back after looking at the price to say "just so you know next time it is this price." If this had been a one off maybe but no, this is not. When I mentioned that she mentioned they were between two systems, same thing I was told last time. I glutton for punishment. The place is convenient and has most of what I am looking for. This time it was marked 8.99 and the receipt said 9.99. The cashier gave me a store credit... nope that is not my error. Manager corrected it, apologized and said... they don't control the tariffs. So basically you will be charged and won't know what you paid after you get your receipt and no refunds! read more

Visiting Maryland for the Holiday and I didn't like my hair so I needed a nearby, last minute beauty supply store to go to for me and my daughter! I must say I was pleasantly surprised once I arrived. This shop is like no other I've ever been in. They have EVERYTHING one might need. I didn't get a chance to throughly look at the prices but from what I did check the prices are moderate, however they have generic and name brand items. I really love how they even have a whole section of the store dedicated for hair extensions/wigs/ponytails etc you name it. I was greeted with big smiles and hellos and even asked if I needed help. Glad I stumbled upon this place. I was nearby doing errands and saw this place. It's kinda in the cut! Not sure how long they've been around but I like it! I found what I needed, and the prices are about the same that I pay at my go to local beauty supply! The store is clean and well stocked!! They didn't have my favorite strip lashes, broadway but they had other good choices. I had trouble finding an item I needed and the employee, Kaia helped me. She was very helpful and friendly! The store is large and spacious. They have an OK section of braiding hair, but not as much as some of the other beauty supply stores in Columbia, including Brian's, which is about a quarter of the size of the store. The main reason for my two-star review is for the music they were playing. It was so ratchet and loud and overstimulating, that I could not even shop. I am not sure if the young employees working there choose the music because they like it or if they think their customer base will like it. And I realize I sound like a complaining old lady, but I don't necessarily think that you have to play ratchet music because you are a beauty supply store. read more

I swear I have not been drinking but after leaving this place, I feel like I am euphoric. This place is who I am. They have top shelf, yes I said top shelf, hair supplies and they have everything for every ethnicity. Like you are like, naw... they aren't gonna have cause I get that from Amazon. Nope, they have that too. Their inventory is like every YouTube tutorial product that you've never seen at your corner beauty supply. What I like most is the presentation. It's sleek and classy and it's love. Not to mention, ya'll! They are open on Sunday's. You heard what I said... SUNDAYS!! Would I come here again? Kaysi Beauty has been my regular go-to for my beauty supply needs, but recently I've had to re-think other beauty supply store options in the area. Unfortunately, I've recently had a similar experience as other YELP reviewer "Love T", but with a different Kaysi employee. If I'm in your place of business looking to purchase a few wigs at premium price, then I should be allowed to try on said wigs without any issues. There's nothing more frustrating than knowing exactly what you want only to be disappointed with the customer service, and told you cannot try on a wig because they're closing in 15 minutes. Apparently, don't arrive here less than 30 minutes before closing or they'll dismiss you, and claim you can't try on their wigs - plus, ignore you! It would've taken me less than that amount of time to sample two wigs, but I left angry and empty handed. I'll return once I lose this sour taste in my mouth. But, for now their employees can wear their wigs. read more

This place was a wonderful surprise. I didn't even know that beauty supplies like this existed in this area. They have a wide variety of everything. It's like ulta meets a hair supply store. It was super neat and clean as well. The one negative that I have to give them was that the staff was not very attentive or welcoming. I was wondering around for 10 minutes before someone acknowledged me and asked if I needed help, and once they did still not very inviting. I was looking for nail supplies and the girl tries to be inconspicuous, singing a little song under her breath as she slowly walks by me, but it was SO obvious what she was attempting to do. She positioned herself behind a display, pretending to be reading the nail polish bottles. Are you freaking kidding me! That's when I decided to just walk up and stand next to her and she did exactly what I expected....she walked off. I just took the items I had in hand and headed to check out. I stopped in here along my errands run in Columbia. This store is so beautiful! Private and roomy outside parking in a non shopping are. Black is the staple color in and outside the building. Upon entering the first side is full of makeup, skin care, and relating essentials. The second room is full of weave central!!! Morphe and NYX have a huge display off goodies. A little more expensive than online but we get the point. Upselling. Today's visit was 3/5 bc 2 Morphe brushes were out of stock and they didn't carry a generic mesh hair net for roller sets - non cap. I was interested in a hair dryer but all salons sell the same one and they all have bad reviews as far as product. To include being pushed to buy an opened box item and then was told "I wouldn't buy it either.." Employees are friendly although the young lady who asked me if I was a member didn't explain to me what the point of being a member was after I signed up (I knew but she didn't know I knew lol ) read more

When I saw construction on this building I was excited to know there would be a new beauty supply store coming to an already underserved Columbia. Really why does Columbia have so few beauty supply stores?? Anyway, when they finally opened I was not expecting the awesomeness inside... This place is like an Ulta mixed with Sally's mixed with your typical neighborhood hair store. And the prices are great. In addition to buying bundles, lace fronts, and half wigs, you can hang out at the NYX makeup counter. I was even excited to get a cute logo paper bag (instead of one of those plastic "Have A Nice Day" bags. Highly recommend. The only downside is that it's close to work so I may end up spending too much time and money here! read more

Make sure that whatever you are purchasing IS SEALED. I purchased a wig cap that has been returned by a previous customer. When I came into the store today to just exchange it the manager Jessica refused to allow me to do an exchange because it was opened despite less than 7 days of purchase. I didn't even want my money back. Just an equal exchange. So again make sure everything is unopened when purchasing. read more

I visited this store during their Grand Opening event. It's the best hair store I've been too in that it houses most of what you could want and need in one place. There's great selection of items for hair, make up and other esthetic needs. I also like that there is an area where you can have your makeup done similar to Sephora. I only gave it 4 stars since I haven't really experienced the customer service yet but hopefully the next time I come I can give a review on that. read more

So I stopped in after spotting it from Dobbin Rd. It a really nice space, no clutter and very sleek. They have a pretty decent area for hair (wigs, extensions, etc.) but I stayed more towards the makeup. They have a huge setup for NYX, and displays for Bare Minerals, Morphe, Sigma and some smaller makeup brands not usually available in stores. The NYX display had a lot of different items and shades that are typically sold out at other retailers (Ulta, CVS, Walgreens, etc.) And they even had some palettes and brushes I didn't know NYX sold. Speaking specifically to Morphe and Sigma, the prices are slightly higher in store than if you ordered online (some times were $2 dollar more, some where $15 more). If you plan on buying a lot of items and can swing free shipping directly from Morphe or Sigma, you are better off doing that. The Morphe brush set I got had a weird scent to it. It was similar to nail polish. I took off 1 star for the price differences (though I figure they're making a profit to run their business). Also, they're return policy has a note that they can decline any returns per their discretion. Basically, that means they can just refuse to return an item if they feel like it. Pretty crappy policy and I think a customer who was trying to return something was arguing about something they wanted to return and the employees wouldn't accept it. read more

I realized they were pronounced the same way, but it didn't click. A few Sundays ago, I decided to go check in and it out, and I was so impressed with the selection, the staff and the cleanliness. I didn't feel like driving half an hour out to Sally's so decided to stop in and check this place out. The interior is very spacious and their displays are well setup. Like another reviewer said, this place is like a Mac, Sephora, Ulta, ect. combined. I was able to find what I needed. I have to agree with all of the other reviews...this is probably one of THE best beauty supply stores I've ever been in! In fact, while shopping, I text my friend "girl, I've found the most magical beauty supply store...EVER"! And even that was an understatement. The fact that they have an ENTIRE WALL of NYX products that is FULLY stocked with every product, color and then some, is deserving of 10 stars, in and of itself!!! It was clean, organized, and structured in such a way that gave off this 'feng shui' vibe that kind of lured me into buy more. That's okay though because I enjoyed every moment of my shopping experience. Y'all, they even have a whole section dedicated JUST to men products! Sayyyy whaaatttt!!? I'm excited...not for me, but for my husband! This is the best beauty supply store I've ever been to! Immediately entering the store you are enamored with wall to wall cosmetics. They have L.A cosmetics, Kiss, Ruby kisses, NYX, Bare minerals and so many more. There is even a section for men which features all kinds of grooming products. They sell everything! High and low end make up brushes and kits. They sell hair weaves. Wall to wall wigs...they ever have a make up counter where someone will match make up to you or you can get your face done. The best part is that everything is super affordable. It's like someone combined your local beauty store with a Sephora. The staff is so helpful and give great recommendations for products. Do. NOT. Shop. Here. Do NOT let the size of the store and the modern decor fool you! First, they have a crappy selection of products. You would think in such a large store, they'd be able to stock a healthy selection of everything, but they only carry a small handful of brands no one cares about for most products (and they're always out of the one thing you need). Second, their prices are absolutely ridiculous. For example, they sell a nail stamping kit for $30 that the brand itself sells for $12.50 on their own website; that's a 58% markup! FIFTY EIGHT PERCENT! You can literally get everything here cheaper everywhere else! Third, they sell defective/knockoff products. For example, they sell a "professional" hair color remover that claims to only remove applied hair color; IT'S BLEACH. IT'S LITERAL HAIR BLEACH. You won't just lose your applied hair color, YOU'LL LOSE YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR AS WELL. Also, the wigs are all cheap, halloween quality trash. Fourth, they do NOT value their customers. After the aforementioned disaster with the "hair color remover" (aka BLEACH), I went back, with pictures of my bleached hair, to ask for a refund and suggest they remove the product from their shelves before this happened to anyone else. Not only is the product still on their shelves, they refused to give me a refund, instead offering a discount on a future purchase. Why? Because "you used it all." Ummm...this isn't food; I can't take a couple bites, realize it's bad, and send it back. I mixed all the hair color remover PER PACKAGE INSTRUCTIONS and applied most of it to my hair before I realized it was bleaching it. They sold me a defective product, didn't care that it ruined my hair, and refuse to care that the same thing could happen to YOU. Screw their stupid discount; I'm NEVER going back. read more

Great find! A little tucked away, but worth the visit. I've seen this store when leaving Wegmans and was always curious as to what exactly it was. Finally went with a friend to check it out and were pleasantly surprised with the selection of products. Products ranging from Dermologica, philosophy, NYX, to LA Girl, and many many more. Everyone was very friendly, greeted us and asked if we needed help. Heidi ended up helping us with NYX products and she was great! Super bubbly and oh so helpful and patient with us. It was late and they were preparing to close within minutes but she was so gracious and spent time educating us and showing us products. Definitely recommend and will come back! read more

UMMM THIS PLACE IS WOW. They have literally everything from human hair wigs, to Morphe palettes/brushes, and even regular beauty supply finds like LA Girl. There were a lot of young employees there but that's fine because I'm able to relate to them better due to the fact that I'm a young adult. Karen was AMAZING and helped me try on my first wig, and I'm looking forward to going back and spending my coin on some Morphe palettes and brushes; maybe even the wig!
