Just had my first hair cut with Ashlea and she was awesome! She listened to what I was having issues with, what I didn't want (like a lot of length taken off) and she talked to me about my inspo photos. I've had some expensive curly cuts where they scolded me for not using their specific products and when they styled my hair there was so much product it almost felt greasy. Not the case with Ashlea! It turned out looking great and she actually styled it well too. The cherry on top is that she is nice and friendly. The salon is beautiful, feels clean and has refreshments. I'll definitely be back! My incredible stylist is Irina Chiusano. I have been going to Irina for over 2 years. She is talented, takes her time, covers my gray every time, blow dries my hair and then uses a straightener to finish the look. I have always been very very satisfied with her coloring, cutting, styling and drying. She is honest when I ask her questions about possible changes with the color and cut. She takes her time to explain her thoughts and I never feel over booked or rushed when I make an appointment with her. Sadly I recently moved out of state and I miss her terribly. My first stylist in my new state was more expensive and I felt like I was on an assembly line with her, so I won't be going back to her. The first time I went, Joanne was amazing. I left with healthier hair. She used a dye with no ammonia that covered the grey. The staff member I spoke with recommended Mimi as a good fit for me (coloring, short wavy hair, low maintenance). She has been terrific! As my hair gets more grey in it, Mimi occasionally needs to tweak the color mix and works with me to find the sweet spot. She also educates me about hair and how to best care for it, and the products she has recommended are excellent. I have been a client of Emily's for about 8 months now and have never felt better about my hair. I've always had a tough time styling my hair, as well as finding the perfect coloring. When I first came in for a dimensional color, I sent a few inspiration pics with really no idea of what I wanted or how I wanted to achieve it. Emily was able to decipher my nonsense and blend together a few ideas based on pictures to give me my absolute dream hair. Being in a long time client of Emily's I followed her to Looks! Yesterday was my first time, and it's really impressive. She really takes great care of your hands and nails. Yesterday was no different. I'm glad that Looks allowed her to keep the quality of service Emily gives! As always Emily was able to take care of my callouses to get me summer sandal ready! Hand were no different. She was able to moisturize and gave a great hand and foot massage. I booked an appointment with Mimi the "best" stylist in the salon only to walk out with damaged bleached hair. The fact that this place has so many good reviews and provides such a horrendous customer service blows my mind. Fast forward to my appointment date Right off the bat I felt this very abrupt behavior from her as if she was already annoyed with my presence. There was No "hi how are you my name is ..." like any other customer service oriented business. Just a simple "hi" and asked what I wanted to do. At that moment my exciment started to go down. After I showed her what I wanted she said that that's not how my hair was going to look. She didn't suggest a plan for a next appointment or a plan to get my hair there it was just a simple shut down from the start. I continued to show her the pictures and the type of hair cut I wanted. I never got an affirmative answer. Everything was just " It's not going to look like that" which I should LEFT right then and there but because I had already made a deposit of $100 I did not want to lose that money. (This deposit does not go towards your appointment and is an additional charge just to book with them). Throughout the 4 hours I was here we said no more than 15 words. She left me waiting for long periods of time and caused the bleached applied to my hair to burn my hair. Once she started rinsing my hair she asked me if I had dyed my hair before, to which I said yes I dyed it to a dark chocolate about two years ago and before I could finish my sentence she cut me off and said " IT DOESNT MATTER. You should've told me" well.. she could've asked. I have never done anything drastic to my hair besides that and didn't know it would have any impact two years forward. If she would've done an assessment at the beginning and actually take the time to talk to me she would've known. But instead it seemed that she just wanted to get me out of there as soon as possible. She also applied a shampoo on my hair that caused my scalp to burn and when I asked her about it she just asked me if I was allergic and left me for another 40 minutes. Not once did she check on me throughout this whole process. She also burned me with the blow dryer multiple time and brushed my hair in such a forceful way that I could hear every strand of hair that was on her way break. If you have long curly thick hair I do not recommend booking with Mimi as it seems that this hair type is a problem for her. I understand that clients sometimes come with unrealistic expectations. But Mimi not once suggested a next appointment or anything to get me there. I spoke to the store owner and he told me that they don't do refunds but instead I can book with someone different so they could fix my hair but why I want to book with someone else? If Mimi is their "Best" as he said, can you imagine what service everyone else could provide? The trust is broken and I could never go back to a place where they treated me as if I was a burden to them. The picture below will show my hair before, 2 pictures of what I wanted done and what I walked out with. I paid $500. Now because of the damage that was done I have to wait 2 months before I could fix this horrible bleaching they've done to my hair. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

They gave me orange hair when it was supposed to be blonde!! Shelly is absolutely retched do not go to her for any blonde. Emily literally can't color and left in the middle of my hair coloring. The manager literally came up and apologized and didn't charge which was nice. Mimi tried to fix what they did but couldn't. Also there was gossiping going on beforehand about me. Mimi Was miserable, defensive, and snide about fixing quite alot of it. Telling me I should " know" to tell the hair dresser not to do root color? First off I said platinum blonde highlights from the beginning, second off should I really HAVE to tell you anything as a hair dresser, when I show you past pictures of me from a month ago of exactly how I want my hair? All they had to do was maintain what was already done. They had ONE job. Mimi also said I had bad ends of my hair, alot was dead. She really emphasized that to try to make me feel bad. I felt bad enough that my hair was orange and I was once again in there getting my hair fixed. Well no crap I had to come in 4 times to have this hair fixed and re-dyed and fixed again and re-dyed by your salon because they kept messing up. It's not rocket science. Nor is my hair bad. They literally destroyed it!! Absolutely will never go back there. The attitude and guilt trip won't work ladies. Y'all messed up. And are so unprofessional. Late review for Alysa! I've been struggling to keep my frizzy hair straightened for my whole life not knowing its potential. After doing lots of researches online, I found out frizzy hair just means curls that can happen with the right method and products. Not knowing what to expect and what to do, Alysa was amazing at guiding me thoroughly with printed papers recommending me products. Shes great if you are new to the curly hair journey! I've had hard time booking other places because they wouldn't accept chemically straightened hair. I knew I had to grow it out but I was willing to cut my hair short. Unlike other salons that gave no advice or help, Alysa actually gave me timeline on when to come in and gave me great haircut twice. I am not one to leave a negative review but I am very disappointed in this salon. As a member of the military, my schedule constantly changes and I hoped the salon understood this. I called and asked to reschedule my appointment after a major update occurred in my week plans due to the nature of my job. I was met with zero understanding of the position I am in and forced to pay for half of a service I did not end up getting, which was a haircut that costs over $60. Not only do I have to now miss a haircut but am also out money that I needed to put towards a major cross-country move. Recently visited Looks for an appointment with Alysa. First, she's cute as a button. Second, she's ultra-professional. Third, she delivers results. And she's an Advanced Deva Stylist. I have supercurly, typical IC3 (shout out to the UK) hair (to be very esoteric, I have 3c/4a low porosity hair), and I had a nightmare hair cut roughly three years ago, where I lost over half of my hair. Until Monday, I had only been to a salon once since then to get a blowout and a trim. Now getting your hair trimmed after a blowout when your hair grows out of your scalp as curly as mine is training wheels for the stylist. And insurance for me. So, I was guarded when I arrived. And I came ready to jump ship at the first sign of trouble, because I was not going to let someone shear me like a sheep like last time. But I had nothing to worry about with Alysa. She not only took her time with me, but she listened to what I was telling her about my hair. She never acted like she was in a rush. I appreciated her sharing info about hair and color. I was afraid to get my hair cut dry, but she did an excellent job and respected my wishes. Most importantly, she wasn't afraid of my hair and knew exactly how to manage it: there's little more demoralizing than going into a salon and the stylist treating you like an alien for the way the hair grows out of your scalp. I left with an acceptable amount of hair on my head. The woman is fearless. I ended up booking another appointment after I settled my bill. I didn't buy any products because fortunately/unfortunately, I am very familiar with the entire Devacurl product line and have tried or currently own most of those products already. I think my stylist did what most people would want for a "curly cut" but we had talked during consult about how I didn't like the look/feel of gel in my hair. When she showed me examples, one more defined with a product-heavy look and another with softer waves, I said I was looking for the softer waves. I ended up being very happy with how my hair was much curlier than expected as I was leaving, but after a few hours I realized the wet and greasy look wasn't my hair still drying but the look of a lot of gel. When I washed it all out my bare hair before and after pictures looked different but not by a lot. I'm not certain, but I think she only gave me a couple more layers (I already have some cut two months before) but I had thought that curly cuts involved cutting lock by lock? I think I got a two-layer cut, wash, and style for $185. For me it wasn't worth it but she was nice, explained a lot, and probably assumed I wanted to have the product drive my hair appearance more than the cut. So even though it's not what I thought communicated I'll give her three stars for trying to do what she thought would look best. If you're expecting the lock-by-lock type of cut I recommend being explicit, and doubly explicit if you don't want to have your hair's look dependent mostly on product so they can style you more like. how you want it to look normally. read more

I have never been so happy with a salon! I just moved here and was looking to make a huge change to my hair (cutting off 18in) and I had no idea who to ask for. So I called and explained my situation and the receptionist set me up with someone she thought would do a good job. When I first arrived everyone was so friendly and one of the employees even showed me around the salon and everything they offer I had my hair cut by Emily and she did an amazing job! I have seriously never been so happy about a hair cut. Like I said, I had 18 inches cut off so before I went I was 100% sure I was going to hate it considering I haven't had hair this short since I was 5. But boy I was wrong. I have been getting Devacuts with Amanda Payne for about 2 years now. Being bi-racial (Latina & Black) i grew up with huge hair that society made me feel like i needed to "get under control" or "tone down". And I have to say that Alysa Vega here at Looks is among the best I've ever gone to. I totally get why her appointments book out so far in advance; she should be highly sought after for her incredible skill set and fun personality. For a stylist so young, her skills and breath of knowledge are really impressive. I've never had a stylist explain to me in such detail the "why" of the haircut, color, and styling process the way Alysa did. I heard other stylists asking for her opinions as well and she always knew the answers off the top of her head. Not only is she incredibly good at what she does, but she seems to genuinely have fun with it and no challenge is too big- not the length of my hair or the specific shade of purple I was aiming for! I've come here multiple times to see Andrea Edwards for deva cuts and highlights. She's the best. I began seeing her in April 2016. Anyone uneasy about deva cuts should see her. She's knowledgeable, doesn't force products, and walks you through the whole process. She cuts my hair in front of the mirror and we talk about what I like/don't like. As for color - she's great at that too. I've gotten highlights from her twice and she's kept my curls healthy and we don't use bleach. I have been to Lucy at Looks twice and have been impressed both times! The customer service here is awesome and they always try and make you feel welcome. Sometimes the receptionist are all busy with other customers and there is no greeting upon arrival but when they do they are always nice. The bathrooms are always clean and smell so good. Lucy is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend her. She is super nice (which is a plus for me considering I'm from the south where everyone is super friendly) and gives you suggestions on color, style, etc. Both times I have had highlights or color. I have really dark hair and have been blonde for years. When I moved here I tried 3 different salons before trying Looks and no one has been able to provide me with a color that looks good and more natural. I LOVE Lucy! She's just awesome.
