Currently my favorite Lodi sushi place. We've been coming here much longer than we've been living…read morehere, and the quality has remained consistent. We can usually depend on it being busy as they offer a small dining area with limited tables outside, so when we do walk in we do so prepared. They do have a reservation system but to my knowledge we have not used it. We just walk up and greet the staff person at the door to check in, and they tell us what the wait is like. If it's over a half hour we usually kill time in Raley's. It's usually not longer than a 20 minute wait. If you are a large party, things might get cramped, but I've seen them pull it off with gusto. We've never had a party larger than four and it's been great. I really like the folks who work here. And the food is great too. They have a few tvs and a little sushi bar at the back, and the noise level is about average depending on how many children are dining with their families. Komachi has a dedicated vegetarian menu and I've tried most of the things on it. I love that they have marinated shiitake rolls, my fave of the standard veggie sushi innards. Yummy! My favorite rolls on the menu are the Garden Roll (steamed asparagus, avocado, cucumber, kanpyo, and shiitake), Shittake Maki, and the Rich Jumbo Roll (fried asparagus, fried onion, avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber). Appetizers I have tried and enjoyed very much include the Agedashi tofu, fried brussels sprouts (I have to remember to have the fish flake removed from this dish though), and of course, wakame (seaweed salad). They do have ramen, donburi, bento boxes, teppanyaki (the tofu one I look forward to trying soon!) and salads as well if you're not in the sushi mood. I like their seasonal drink menu, featuring wine, soju, and beer. Komachi is also reasonably priced. Yeah, pretty much everything I'm looking for when me and my boo are craving sushi. Vegan Corner: several items can be made vegan upon request, but there is not a dedicated menu. Bathroom Report: noisy pipes will not hurt you, at least it's smelling fresh right?

Last Wednesday, our server said something really rude and I don't even think he realized it but it was jarring enough to lower my rating for this visit. I'm sure next time will be back to normal as long as that young kid gets some training on hospitality. The food was fantastic as always. Saying to a customer who asks about an item that passed by their table- "you can't order that it's only for regulars or people who've been coming here a while" is not welcoming or polite and I'm shocked to be saying this about one of my favorite restaurants in town.

The menu has been well thought out and the presentation of the food is just gorgeous. Service is pretty good too. It's such a cute spot I love it so much. Cannot recommend it enough to be honest.

It's too soft and wet or half-cooked, with some grains still raw. We ordered Dinner Bento box Salmon teriyaki (not dry and teriyaki not too sweet) Tonkotsu (not overcooked dry that it's stuck to the breading) With the addition of spicy tuna roll (for my husband, too spicy), it would help if we are informed that it may be too spicy for some. Dinner Bento box Saba shioyaki (good moist, no fishy taste but a little too much salt) please adjust accordingly. Salmon teriyaki same as my comment above. With the addition of California roll, which is ok. Shioyaki sauce is good, that hint of spice and its combination with citrus is good for me. Tempura sauce is good too. The tempura batter mix is a bit on the salty side as well. Please do not change to burning or overcooking your food over time. Definitely be back.

We were the only customers and got there around 6:30. My only critique is that there were a lot of employees and we were the only patrons, yet our two servers did seem distracted and forgot a couple of things throughout the meal. I'm giving grace for that because it was a very slow night and they were probably just chit chatting in the back. I would've had no issue giving this 5 stars if it wasn't for that one small thing. Service otherwise was very friendly and quick The food was fantastic! As a Japanese American who's been eating sushi since I was in the womb, I have to disagree with the yelper who recently said the rolls are too small and too expensive. The rolls we ordered were huge and the fish was very fresh and on par with M sushi and Komachi. Is it a luxurious loungy city style vibe? No. But the food is great and the prices are fair imo for the extremely fresh and delicious fish. We ordered two bowls of miso, salmon tataki roll (I only wished for more onions!), the spicy crunchy scallop roll (my new favorite roll in Lodi), snow crab CA roll, and I think the last one was a dragon roll with unagi. They were all great. We were def pleasantly surprised by Yume and will absolutely be coming back.
