Toppings were great and added flavor And texture. Blueberry syrup was kind of a letdown. Super thin, would have liked to see more of a compote with real fruit. Boyfriend got the tahini beet wrap. Loved it and said he felt so happy he chose healthy. We tried the hemp hustler smoothie. Tasted like a bland banana protein powder shake to me. This is a little vegan cafe in Windermere (you might be able to tell from the name). I'd wanted to check this place out for a while, but I'm not in this area often. Today, however I was so I stopped in to try something. First off I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, but I like eating plant-based meals and am trying to include that in my diet a bit more. r However I am intolerant to a lot of soy products like tofu and soy milk, which are often used in vegan dishes. However at kb & co they don't use soy in any of their products. I asked the staff member if the smoothie I was looking at had an soy in it and he said they don't use soy. If you're like me and can't handle soy this is the place for you. Since it was mid afternoon I didn't want to get a meal. They have several different sandwiches/wraps, soups, salad, and some breakfast options. If it had been a little earlier I may have tried a coffee (they have one called mushroom mocha latte which I'm a bit intrigued by the name). Anyway I opted to get a smoothie. There are several smoothies available including protein smoothies (with protein powder). I went for one of the regular smoothies the mango mojito. Obviously this isn't an alcoholic mojito beverage, but a smoothie with mango, kale, spinach, mint, dates, lime and almond milk. I've had green smoothies before that are a bit bitter, but this smoothie wasn't. It wasn't too sweet either, and taste the mango and the mint quite well. I also got a chocolate mint square, which was really good. The price for my smoothie was a little over $15 (which included a 10% tip). This is a bit expensive, but the ingredients are fresh, and to be honest I found the smoothie quite filling even a few hours later. And as of this review post Covid is still on so the in-person dining is closed (though the space is very nice and open). I don't know when I'll be back in this area, but when I am I'll definitely want to stop in here again. read more

We love KB & Co's plant based options! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. Pros: - Coconut BLT delicious as always - Highchairs were available for our toddler - Outdoor patio seating - Quick service despite being busy Cons: - They use takeaway containers and plastic forks if you're dining in. This isn't due to Covid, they've been doing this since they opened. - The highchairs hadn't been wiped down - Wrap was way over dressed and fell apart/leaked immediately So glad there are plant based options for the vegans and vegetarians in the city. We love KB & Co but this visit didn't quite make 5* for us. read more

It is definitely IMPRESSIVE and delicious. It my was first time to this cafe. The seamless nature in how flavor balances with esthetics surely does impress. The waffle has a fluffy inside and crunchy outside and seed filled. A bit of crunch, a bit of flavor. But the sorbet and maple syrup brings the sweetness and makes it perfect! It is very filling so if youre hungry(like i was ), it will satisfy hunger . I am kicking myself in playing it safe with a pumpkin spice and not getting the beetroot latte. But the pumpkin spice was yummy so it drowns the regret. I cant wait to try more items on their menu. The girls was welcoming, decor is very chic and clean looking. Plenty of parking. read more

I've been hearing so many positive reviews about this fast-casual plant-based cafe, that I knew I had to try it for myself! Came by at 1:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon, and it was absolutely buzzing. Definitely a great first sign! I decided to order the Coconut BLT Sandwich, their most popular item, and I was highly impressed! I'm not a vegan, so I thought that I would really miss the bacon. However, the mayo and hemp seed pesto added a nice savoriness to the sandwich, and the smoked coconut bacon, a nice textual element. No bacon required! For the size of the sandwich, they really packed it with spinach, but the flavours were so well balanced, I didn't mind at all. I also ordered the Berry-Oxidant protein smoothie. I could tell it was packed with protein powder. It tasted fine, but a little too sweet for my liking. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised! I've been to the downtown location a number of time, but today was my first time in the Windermere location. While the menu is the same and the decor and layout is fairly similar, this location feels a bit more roomy and is the perfect environment to meet up and catch up with a friend, which is exactly what I did this morning. I started off my morning with the coconut oats! I had been looking forward to trying this because they only offer this menu item until 11am and at work, I generally take my lunch at 12! So a breakfast date was perfect timing! The coconut oats is served warm and comes topped with fresh banana and strawberry that's been sliced as well as raisins & coconut flakes. You get your choice of milk; I opted for the coconut milk while my friend chose to have a almond milk! It was a little chilly this morning so warm oats were perfect! The portion is a nice size and quite filling, and great way to start the day! I also ordered a hot chocolate! This was my first time ordering a beverage... because normally by lunch time, I'm already pretty hopped up on caffeine! The hot cocoa here is made from cocoa powder, I imagine as it can be a bit bitter if you are used to the sugary sweet hot chocolates from other eateries! I found it slightly salty to my liking, so perhaps next time I'll stick to a regular coffee or latte instead. One thing I also love about KB& Co is that they use all paper products that can be recycled! This location is a lot quieter, however, then again, I would expect Saturday mornings to be a little less hectic than a weekday lunch rush downtown. There's also plenty of free parking at this location, so its a great place to catch up with a friend over a healthy meal without having to worry about watching the close and paying parking! read more

This is probably one of my favourite places to stop by in Edmonton. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed, the staff are friendly, and the food is to die for. My favourite items to get are definitely the Coconut BLT sandwich, and the açai bowl. The coconut blt has this slight sweetness because of the date jam while the coconut bacon adds a smokiness that gives the sandwich almost like a meat flavour. I love getting the citrus kale salad as a side. The dressing is something that I still can't figure out. It's not heavy like a Caesar but it's enough to keep you satisfied. The açai bowl is an excellent pick-me-up after a workout. The portion is pretty big and I love the vanilla macaroon granola that comes with it; turns out you can buy the granola by itself for $8! One complaint that I have would be the prices. It is quite steep and you definitely can get away with making some of the dishes at home instead. However, I think it's worth it as a treat every once in a while. The food is healthy, wholesome, and light so you can enjoy everything guilt-free! read more

With all the glowing reviews on Yelp I had to give this café a try. It was almost full when we arrived at around 10:30 and it was loud. In fact it was so loud that we had a hard time carrying on a conversation. The young lady at the order counter was very nice and started off by explaining what they are all about. Basically they make everything on site and carry no meat or dairy. I ordered the Oak & Hemp Seed Berry Waffles ($13.00) and they were delicious! Sweet, but not too sweet. Everything had bold flavours including the fruit. The almond whip cream was especially good. I highly recommend this dish. My guest had the Marinated Mushroom Avocado Toast ($8.50). It looked really good and was much larger than the price would suggest. She said she really enjoyed it. I might try it next time. We both ordered drip coffee. It was good but not unusually so. No refills are included but the paper cups were a good size. I know that I'll come back here for the food but I can't give them five stars because of the noise; it really was loud making it hard to visit. When we were nearly finished one very chatty group left and that helped a little but it was still difficult to hear each other. If you can pass on the meat and dairy and don't mind the noise, I highly recommend this Café. The food is superb. I came back on a Sunday and it wasn't nearly as noisy. This came up at the right time of the interesting trend and movement towards vegan alternative food establishments. I definitely don't consider myself a vegan but I keep an open mind towards different styles of food. To start of with, the menu is quite diverse and doesn't necessarily push the faux meat style of dishes, but rather places vegetables front and centre. I didn't really want to leave a bad review necessarily, but I feel compelled to write something. I am on a low sugar health kick so didn't want a smoothie or protein shake - prices are very high btw - so I was disappointed there was only earl grey or black tea when it comes to teabag option, I don't drink either. I drink every other bag tea under the sun. i don't want oat milk in a chai either ... costs nothing for them to buy a box of mint tea from superstore. So I had water. My tomato soup was delicious, and my main bowl, a coconut salad dish minus the rice was great too but why didnt it come in a bowl? it came in a take out box! Very awkward to eat out of. The Staff weren't very inviting to be honest, my friend and I tipped our usual 15% but they did very little to earn that (I work in a busy bar and I work my tail of for my 15%!) and one girl started mopping the entire floor around 2pm with a very strong smelling scent so that was a bit off putting. Overall I just didn't really enjoy the experience. It wasn't very busy and I can see why. Its overpriced and not a very friendly space. I won't be back to this Windermere location read more

Steak. Ribs. Chops. Burgers. These are a few of my favourite things! Kb & co has none of my favourite things to eat. But I said f-it. I'll give it a go. Disappointed. I. Am. Not. Ordered Thai stew, a Chipotle wrap, and root beer Kombucha. The Thai stew was surprisingly topped with almonds, rice, and kale in some type of dressing. DAYUM was that good. And satisfying. I shouldn't have ordered the wrap too because this was a hearty portion. Tasty, great textures, and served at a great warm temperature that was delightful to the tongue. To complete the review, I took a bite of the wrap but I'm saving it for later. I'm a big guy so that says something about the portion size of the stew (I'm belabouring this point because with the slightly higher healthy/trendy prices of this place I expected to have to supplement my meal and am happily surprised that I didn't need to). The wrap was very tasty and also filled with great stuff but I personally would have preferred a kick of spicy-ness given it is billed as "chipotle". That is my only, mild complaint. I usually hate kombucha but I hate drinking water more (I get most of my hydration from coffee and diet pop; prove me wrong) and didn't feel like a smoothie. Very good drink. If it actually does have any health benefits, you wouldn't know it from the flavour. They have a good supplier. I would highly recommend that we all take meat breaks in our diet and I think this a great place to do it. Just don't order too much; you'll be satisfied with one dish methinks. Not craving a steak right now, so maybe veggie lovers have a point? Typically I figure that my food eats my veggies for me, but maybe I can go direct to the source a bit more often? read more

FINALLY got to try this place out! I've been on the hunt for a good healthy spot to eat out and I'm beyond pleased! It is a bit out a ways for a west-ender but nevertheless if I'm really craving some tasty healthy treats then this is a place I will stop by. The restaurant is very clean and modern looking. Lots of table space and for the time and day we went it was surprisingly not too crowded! There's lots of parking available as it's part of a row of stores. The first downside I must mention is price : it is a bit much if you're right on change and realistically is a bit out of budget for me to become a frequent goer but the quality of food certainly justifies it. I ordered the Chipotle Taco Wrap with a side of greens, and the boyfriend ordered the Coconut BLT with chips. We split the ordered halfzees because that's a must if you go anywhere for the first time (just me?) And I confidently say that both absolutely surprised me! They exceeded my expectations! I particularly enjoyed the Chipotle Taco Wrap as it had a lot going on the flavors were just fantastic. BUT both were great! We also tried the gingersnap and chocolate chip cookies (both vegan as well) and although the boyfriend was not a fan, I quite enjoyed both. They were soft and hit my sweetooth craving! As expected, KB&Co Windermere is just as fantastic as the 104 street location. My fave is, and probably always be, the coconut BLT with citrus kale. And I love the Nanaimo bars and still think about breaking and entering just to get that recipe. But alas, it seems easier, and less illegal, to just buy one when I want it. And on a side note, I'm completely amazed by my own willpower that I can go to cycling right next door and not go buy a Nanaimo bar every time. Sandwiches, soups, amazing smoothies, waffles, treats... all topped off with the most friendly service! Worth every dollar. read more

I generally like the waffles here when they aren't raw in the middle. I drove here with the hopes to give them another try, today at 5:49pm when I arrived and tried to order the waffles (they close at 7pm) I am told that they have closed the waffle machine for the night. The menu sign says "good all day" beside the morning food items. If it's good all day I should be able to order it until you close. Extremely disappointed needless to say I left. This was my first time visiting the new location. I ordered with my coworkers for a total of 11 people. We pre-ordered a few hours in advance. The food and smoothies were very fresh and tasty. The nacho salad dressing is to die for! The ginger pink lemonade smoothie was also a favourite of the group. The portions were in proportion to the prices which I like as well. My only comments would be about service. When calling to place the order we were first met with some uncertainty as to whether they would be able to make this size of order (11 people) the manager/owner did come on the phone and clarify they would be able to but that they would not start the smoothies until we arrived for pickup. This kind of defeats preordering. I know it was for quality control but was glad they had started them prior to us picking up. They turned out great and stayed blended long into our lunch break. We will be ordering from here again and I will be visiting the location in person again read more

Delicious fresh food that is consistently made! The avocado toast and corn chowder are especially good! I guess since it is so popular it tends to be very loud especially with the blenders going and echoey room, so I wouldn't recommend it for a place to sit and visit, but great for grab and go food! read more
