Good Stock has become one of my favourite vegan spots in Edmonton. I've been here quite a few times now and I've never been disappointed. In fact, since they've opened, they've only gotten better. They now offer great options for catering and to-go. You can buy an entire lasagna or casserole for a really reasonable price. Great for those nights you really don't feel like cooking. My favourite menu item by far is the buffalo chickpea wrap. I love that they choose to use more natural ingredients for their food rather than opting for processed fake meats. This wrap is spicy and hearty and it comes with your choice of side. I don't think I've ever finished my meal in one sitting. The portions are very generous. My second favourite would have to be the loaded taco bowl. If you're looking for a healthier, gluten-free option, this is it! It is a taco salad on a bed of kale and basmati rice. The ground "meat" (made from walnuts) and their cashew sour cream are SO close to the real thing. Another awesome thing about Good Stock is that they make their own vegan cheese. The other reviews are very positive for Good Stock but I think that you need to be a vegetarian to truly appreciate appreciate it. I ordered soup (what else do you order from a place called Good Stock?) and a bagle. Certainly the soup was hardy and it was good but not in the same league as the Prairie Soup Company. The bagle was excellent. It was covered with a generous spread of jam and the jam tasted like home made. Their menu is large and should have something to thrill most vegetarians. There are lots of tables so bring all of your veggie friends. Service was very friendly in a genuine sort of way which is certainly appreciated. Ok - so i am not a vegetarian in any way, so i was reluctant to try this place out. I am amazed at the wow flavours in the numerous selections. I've eaten three different times now and have no disappointments. Try the broccoli soup - it is great. I will be coming back to this place. A variety of vegan dishes, smoothies, desserts, soups, tea, take and bake dishes which are already frozen or place an order. Very casual, clean, owners are super friendly!! I love that I can go to places like this and not have to worry about whether or not there is cheese in any of the dishes. I can order everything out of the menu without having to ask so many questions about their ingredients. Come on down and take a chance on a new dish and support local cuisine!!! read more

Look, another vegetarian place! Good Stock Restaurant & Catering focuses on being a quick service, healthy plant based restaurant. This sounded like the perfect place to take my favourite vegan couple. We came on a Sunday for a late lunch (1:00pm). The inside has a very clean, crisp industrial look to it with tons of seating available. They have a lot going on: daily specials for everyday of the week, healthy smoothies, take-away camping packages (cool idea!), and Da Vinci gelato (from St. Albert). The main menu focuses on a few things: bagels, soup, probiotic cashew cheeze wheel, main courses, snacks, desserts and beverages. - Strawberry lime hibiscus punch ($2.50) - it's made in house. I found the drink quite floral and light in taste but Jboy and L liked it. - Roasted tomato pepper kale ($5.50) - we added bottom rice ($1.50) to make it a bit more substantial. Can I add that $1.50 for a scoop of rice is ridiculous? That being said, the soup was very hearty and had good flavour. - Loaded taco bowl ($12.50) - it looks like one hot mess. Taste = average. - Mac & cheeze with shredded rainbow salad ($10.50) - the mac was lacking that creamy, oozy satisfaction. I've yet to be impressed with any vegetarian style mac & cheese.The rainbow salad was probably the best thing we ordered. Healthy with a great balance of flavours and texture, I'd get this on it's own. - Quesadilla with potato salad ($12.00) -the sauce had good flavour and a wee bit of heat to it. Would have liked to have had the quesadilla crunchier. The potato salad was pretty boring; seemed like just filler to me. It's great to see more vegetarian places like GS opening up. Their potato salad is divine and while I may have overdone it on starches when I got the yam shepherd's pie AND potato salad, I had no regrets at all. Be sure to check their website before you visit- I guarantee you'll fall in love with at least one of their daily specials and you'll want to ensure what you want is being cooked up that day. The establishment also offers lots of foods to go and the vegan cheese is soooo good! The friendly staff happily provides samples of each of the flavours if you're like me and need to have a little taste of everything before deciding what you want. I had been reading reviews of this restaurant and decided to check it out today. Located in a quiet strip mall. Lots of parking outside. Complete Vegan (all plant based) menu. There was a line upto the cashier, staff were giving out samples of a new menu, very friendly environment. Food not to expensive. Very delicious. The linguine tasty, rich and fulfilling- cannot tell that there was no oil or butter in it. The burger was very spicy but delicious. We couldn't taste the flavour in the punch although it was refreshing. Washrooms clean. Restaurant was packed. Will definitely eat here again read more

Good Stock is one of our favourite places in the city. Smoothies, meals, desserts and catering it's everything you dream of for a plant based person all in one place. We are obsessed with the taco salad and the chocolate banana shake with lemon squares. We also ordered Christmas dinner and it was fantastic. The food is always great. The location is a bit out of the way but totally worth it. Always clean. Change table for moms and dads! Good service. We always bring our non vegetarian friends here and they always love it. How lucky to have a great vegan/vegetarian restaurant almost in my neighbourhood! I've tried a few different dishes here since they've opened, and have never been disappointed. Now that winter has arrived, I will start to crave the hearty shepherd's pie or lasagna. Check out the website for the daily specials, and full menu. The serving sizes are generous, and most of the specials come with a delicious kale salad. In addition to the main dishes, there is usually some tempting desserts, and you can also buy cashew cheese wheels! And yes, they do serve Davinci gelato. One thing I truly appreciate about Good Stock is that if their hours change due to unforseen circumstances, they post this on their Facebook page. Nothing irritates me more than going to a little ma and pa type place to find them not open during posted hours. Each time I visit I try a new item. The food is well prepared and very healthy. Almond bites and veggie burger are my favorites. The burger patti and potatoe bun are delicious. The punch is cold and refreshing. The eating area is very clean. I do not care for the pad Thai noodle at all, or the sour cream on the taco dish. We were in Edmonton for a concert and this was the one spot we really wanted to visit for vegan and gluten free options (which are tricky to find!). Firstly, the options are wonderful and diverse, and the food is phenomenal. We both had the taco bowl and were so impressed! I also had coffee and loved that they had hazelnut almond milk to add to it - so tasty! We thought before we ordered, that we would also be able to try the mushroom burger, but we had no clue just how filling the taco bowl would be. Needless to say, we sadly couldn't manage to get a burger. Secondly, and equally important, the service is amazing! The owner could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We shared an east coast connection, which is always wonderful to find away from home. He answered all of our questions, and even brought us some super tasty samples from both their home meals and catering menus (both of these samples were also incredible!). The only thing that could bring this spot to 6/5 stars would be to have some recyclable or compostable packaging. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to eat here and would recommend this spot to anyone and everyone - plant-based or not! I can't wait to return to Edmonton for another round! read more

Great to have a restaurant with healthy, vegan options. Everything was great. We loved the soups, salads, main course options and desserts. They sell a range of raw fermented cashew cheeses which are excellent. The setting is very basic and the concept is healthy, vegan fast-food. They do not use oil in their products. First time trying this place. We are not vegetarian, but heard good things about it. We are not disappointed. We tried the loaded taco bowl, the quesadilla with potato salad (Sunday special), and cream of broccoli soup. They were all great! My first visit! First impressions were good - minimalist feel in the dining area (very clean and bright) and a fun looking menu. I like the weekly specials being offered. We tried the TLT w/ Borscht and Pad Thai w/ Rainbow Salad (the Friday special) as well as a glass of punch. The soup was delicious but I would not have guessed it was a borscht (no red beets which I thought was typical of borscht) and the TLT was pretty tasty, too! The pad thai didn't really taste like pad thai although it was good as it's own noodley concoction. The punch was tasty but I was thrown off by the plastic cup, a dome lid and plastic straw. It seems very wasteful; I declined a straw because I can drink from the cup just fine. The major downfall for me is the disposable dining ware, even if it's compostable. I'd be interested in trying another dish or 2 from Good Stock, but perhaps bring my own fork. read more

Everything here is absolutely incredible, the cream of mushroom soup especially. It is so nice to have a delicious, healthy, plant based restaurant in the neighbourhood and Good Stock can't be beat. As far as plant-based restaurants go this one is mediocre in my opinion. The service is friendly and quick but the food is lacking in flavour and excitement. I've tried a few things on the menu and most of the time was less than impressed. 80 percent of what I tried was a bit bland and boring. The soups and the cinnamon buns are the best things I've tried for sure. The entrees not so much. They have the right idea but need to add more spices or something. read more

Haven't reviewed anything on yelp before, but honestly I felt like I had too. I live in the area and haven't bothered eating here because I'm neither Vegan or Vegitarian... my Wife dragged me here and I have to admit I'm totally impressed. I had Thursday special Shepherds pie, which was really tasty. I would have sworn there was meat in it. I would definitely recommend this place to the none Vegans/ vegetarians out there.
