Some of the samplers needed to be thrown out (dried up, nothing on the bottom). I liked that they had a lot of swabs, makeup remover, and hand sanitizer on hand, but that doesn't really help if the sampler product is useless. I had never heard of Blue Mercury and being a dedicated Sephora/Ulta girl I was curious too see how they stacked up. The store is very nicely laid out, the products beautifully displayed and the associate I talked to was quite friendly. I could see immediate differences that set Blue Mercury apart. First where as all of them have makeup brand reps that will do brows, lashes and make overs at their counters and just as Ulta has a full on hair salon, BM has a spa which is definitely cool. Also, BM is stocking brands you can only find in better department stores like Nordstrom and Saks. Brands like Tocca, Aerin, Claus, etc. And last, they have an amazing variety of candles and fragrance diffusers for your home.
