They stopped me and my sister saying we were stealing and they searched through her Purse (WITHOUT ASKING) they just took it and found nothing and they had us stay to search us. The employs are always rude. That being established. They have the best range of C, J and K beauty products in the city. The prices are very fair and comparable to Ctown or Ktown in other cities. Amazon if you like to gamble in authenticity. I've never found an expired product, they keep up with newer products too. Just don't touch your bag or other shopping bags for any reason while you're there. They will throw a fit. Frankly, I bring everything I intend to take to the front and place it on the counter to not carry it around. Make it their problem that they're rude. I was there on Friday October 24 at noon... my bag rang when I passed the door and the cashier (woman) thought I was stealing their stuff. They immediately walked up and took my bag and searched without saying excuse me or apologizing. I am very annoyed by this incident and I feel humiliated, I am not a thief and I can afford the items you are selling. I was visiting Chinatown with family before leaving Philly and we visited on June 19, 2024. After entering, a young lady greeted us as she was working from the counter and asked if she could be of any assistance. She was pretty friendly so I felt comfortable approaching her about her recommendation for an item (brow makeup) and so she asked me if I needed something specific as she led me to the aisle (waterproof? non-smudge?). She gave me a tester for one she recommended. It was exactly what I needed and a very reasonable price, so she held one on the counter as I shopped around. When I finished shopping around the store she verified the item she held for me was the correct color and the transaction was smooth. I have no complaints! I kind of wish they had online shop option because I saw some Mise en Scene colors that were cheaper than I found online (but I suppose shipping would have hiked the costs up). Upon checkout, she literally threw the item I was purchasing on the counter towards me in a hostile manner and did the same with the receipt. kind of crowded when i wet because the aisles can only fit 1 small person comfortably. Things cost $8-20 with most of them being the $11 dollar range. The korean stuff was twice as expensive, but it's competitive with online prices. I went in and this place is full of asian skincare products. Rows and rows of stuff. I asked the sales person what kind of products were in here and she said "mostly korean and japanese products." As I walked around, they still have boxes of stuff they were putting up. First isle to the right was hair products. Shampoos, conditioner, hair color, hair mask, hair tools, floss, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Boy, I did not understand any of the writing. Lol. Back wall were diet stuff, toiletries and adult stuff. Again alot of the products barely had any English words. Hard to tell what some of the items were. This is probably my favorite side of the wall. Face mask, scrubs, moisturizer, eyelash and trendy tool holders. Love love this isle. Now these came with English writing. Easier to comprehend and understand what I am buying here. The front of the store had some makeup, and tons of boxes where they are still setting up. Prices for some of the items were very high compared to actually buying in Japan or Korea. Some of the can be bought on amazon or yestyle for slightly less. But sometimes, spending a little more to get it right there is not too crazy (I guess). Definately a must visit store, since I don't have to time to travel to Korea or Japan to shop for these skincare items. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews but when I asked a simple question, the employee looked at me with such blatant disgust, made no effort to hide her loud and disgusted "HUH?!" with the mask that was loosely dangling from her face, and barely answered the question before going back to her phone. First of all, glaring at customers when they walk into the store? Sure, whatever. Not wearing their masks during a pandemic despite it being the law? Being shitty to customers who just wanted to ask one simple question? Not okay. TL;DR: Extremely rude and unprofessional employee who can't even be bothered to wear her mask during a pandemic or answer a question. Just buy the same products online for way cheaper. read more

Like a previous poster, I don't enjoy giving feedback for negative experiences but I really felt like I had to share the terrible experience I had today. And I'm fairly certain after today's experience, I won't be giving my business to them anymore. I will give the store 2 stars because I really love the wide selection of Asian beauty products they carry. However, their customer service is less to be desired. I'm pretty certain I came across the same employee as the previous poster. So when I was checking out today, aforementioned employee checked me out and she just could not contain her disgust and abhorrence towards me as she took my credit card payment. Oh! The look of pure contempt! You would think I just did something totally unforgivable instead of swiping my credit card. The whole time her mask was hanging barely on her face and was acting as a makeshift chin sling. Her responses were curt with no greeting or thank you. After the transaction was complete, she just pushed the lotion towards me and didn't give me a bag. It was really something! After the entire 2 minute encounter, I was completely in shock and internally I was thinking to myself, if she is an employee, that is a bold move to act so crassly and rudely. But if she is the family that owns this business, well....I guess she doesn't care for anyone's business. In the future, I suggest patrons take a look around the store (with an employee most likely tailing you) and take pics or notes of which items interests them and order on Amazon, where it's cheaper too. Had a horrible experience there today. Have been there multiple times and bought multiple products from them but today was the first time I've had a subpar experience. They followed me around the store right when we walked in making us very uncomfortable so we didn't end up browsing. When we went up to the register the lady was extremely rude and snatched my money out of my hand and didn't look at me once. When she was giving us the changed she aggressively slapped the money and receipt down on the table while I extended my hand for it. And did not say a single word to us. Not saying this is exclusively a problem because of race but I have been there with my white or Asian friends and have been treated way differently than with my black friends for example giving free samples to them and giving us space to shop in comparison to today. As a black women this felt racially charged. Would not recommend for black people. read more

I've only ever been in this store a few times, but my experience today wasn't such a good one. My previous visits weren't that great either. The older cashier lady barely understood english, so she couldn't really help me. But my visit today was really uncomfortable. I was the only customer in the store and the younger cashier girl basically followed me around the store. Like seriously? If you don't want me carrying around my bag, just ask me to leave it at the front with you. But she followed me everywhere I went, which made it really awkward to shop. This is the only Asian beauty store in Philly I know that sells great make up from China, Japan and Korea. I even discovered my all time favorite Chinese beauty make-up brand from them. I don't mind so much about the prices of the products being up a couple of dollars but trust what everyone else here says when they say their employees are rude as hell haha. I remember my first time not being so great, I was there by myself and looking around and I could literally feel the eyes stuck onto by the employee that was working there as if I was going to steal something. And another time where they would just outright refuse to help you about THEIR own products and other times they don't even know what they sell when I asked them the difference between two products from the canmake brand. I tried asking the one employee sitting at the cashier glued to her phone about the color eye contacts and she just spoke extremely angrily with a terrible expression and yelled for another worker to help instead. You can check out their website on all of the products they sell before purchasing anything but it's all in Chinese so best to rely on pictures and a lot of clicking through lol. If you had to go here I would just say ignore asking the employees anything or interacting with them other than to pay at the front but if you do have a question then good luck. read more
