During the wedding, a couple friends came up to us and asked, disbelieving, "Where did you FIND this place!? It looks like you BUILT it especially for your wedding. It's just perfect!!" We felt the same way. It was exactly what we were looking for. The space is used as a photography studio during the day, and is used as an event space on weekends and evenings (I believe). It cost us about $3000 + extra fees (security, wait staff, etc), but was definitely worth it. We looked at several loft spaces in the area, and this was head-and-shoulders above the rest. The space is on the second floor of the building, which once served as a Buick dealership during the early 20th century. Remarkably, the space includes a great many original details, such as the car-sized elevator that used to bring cars up to the second floor showroom (VERY useful for bringing a/v gear, musical instruments, etc up to the space), while also feeling very hip and modern. The floors have been beautifully restored, and the colors of the space are very warm and inviting. Whoever restored the space did a fabulous job. We had both our wedding and reception at the space, and our 150 guests were accommodated quite nicely. I would strongly caution against many more than 150, however, or some of your guests won't have a place to sit. The wedding reception was held on one half of the loft, after which a curtain was drawn, and the space was reconfigured by the staff to function as a reception area, complete with tables, a DJ setup, etc. The changeover process took only 15 minutes, and we were able to entertain guests with some live jazz during the interim. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and Sandy, the event manager, is a dream to work with. Combine this space with flowers from Craig Sole Designs and catering by Chef Nancy Stark, and you're in for a wedding to remember. Everyone told us that our wedding blew them away, and I firmly believe that Berg Event Space was a huge part of our wedding's success.

The manager was such a great help and willing to humor all of my requests. I just loved that it was an out of the way venue, but still in the downtown area! So unique - definitely a gem!

Visitation and fellowship during the holiday season. There were many people from all over town and our little area here in New Longview. My wife and I live is Kessler Ridge, so we drove less than five minutes to get to the mansion. We have been on the grounds many times before, but this was the first time we were able to visit the interior of the house. It is impressive and fun. There were lots of little pop-up shops set up inside the mansion, all on the main floor and then in a tent that extended from a sunporch on the back of the house. That was by far the biggest area to shop. The rest of the little pop-up areas were small and cozy inside the house. The staff was lovely and serving drinks, wine and food. We only had one glass of wine so we could drive home safely. We loved walking around the house, which everyone who attended was allowed to do with no drama and no supervision. Everyone I saw was super respectful of the property. Everyone we encountered was kind. It was a lovely evening. I hope they do it again next year so we can go.

After pick up and getting prepared for reception my bartenders and I had to go through and re-wash almost all the 300 plus glasses that were rented. We were told they would be washed and ready to go upon pick up, but that clearly wasn't the case. Just more attention to the products they are renting out would be great. It just added a little extra time in preparation for an already stressful day.

Ultrapom did the beautiful decor for my wedding at River Market Event Place…read more Unfortunately, my Saturday wedding fell on a weekend when both the space and Ultrapom had booked multiple weddings. On the Sunday following my wedding, Ultrapom and my venue - without my knowledge - left up my exact same wedding tent decor for another wedding to use, free of charge. They reused my lighting, draping, tent and chandeliers - all rented from several different companies. Seeing photos from another wedding using my carefully planned, multi vendor-sourced decor was devastating to me. Planning a unique wedding was something I spent months and months on - and one of the few things that distracted me from being diagnosed with cancer the year of my wedding. I wanted my wedding day to be perfect, which it was, but I also wanted it to be uniquely ours. In the days following my wedding I reached out to both vendors trying to understand how this could have happened. Ultrapom and River Market have not only refused to admit fault and apologize, but denied me reimbursement and instead rudely blamed me for inconveniencing the Sunday wedding that was "forced to incorporate my decor into their day." In our communications on this, Ultrapom said there was no way my decor could have been taken down in time before the Sunday wedding and even if it could have been - it would have come at a hefty price. These excuses were only told to me after the company used my paid-for design for another wedding. And unfortunately, Ultrapom posted a photo on Instagram indicating the lights took one person only one hour to take down with one ladder. The post was not only comically insensitive, but clearly showed this could have quickly been done in between weddings. I was shocked, saddened and truly disappointed by my communication with Ultrapom while trying to fairly resolve this issue. I requested an explanation for how this could have happened, and later following many excuses, some compensation for having paid for a beautiful tent to be used at a stranger's wedding. My phone calls and voicemails to try and talk it through went unanswered. After thousands of dollars spent with Ultrapom, the business will not even return a phone call. I hope this review informs other couples what they may face once the checks are cashed and your event is done. Thank you to Ultrapom - your work was beautiful, but your customer service for unhappy clients is appalling. Ultrapom is clearly booking more weddings than they can handle - to the detriment of clients. I would advise any couples trying to plan a unique wedding to be clear in communications here. Ask who else will be using the items you pay for. Otherwise, like me, you could end up lending your ideas, vision, and of course money, to whatever event follows yours. Good luck!

The DeLeon's were absolutely attentive to myself, my groom, our guests and our schedule for the entirety of our big night. They recommended their favorite officiant (Pastor Williams) and caterer (Katie's Catering) since they know them so well and they are familiar with how things work and you can't ask for much more than that when it comes to having an amazing team on your side working together to create the perfect night to remember. This lovely couple-run event space works hard to ensure they are in tune with your needs and even worked within our budget in a way no other venue has ever attempted to do. These people truly care about your experience even more than themselves and will go the extra mile to make sure it's everything you wanted it to be and more. They were with me every step of the way in terms of arranging meetings and planning the event - even to coordinating with the vendors so it takes a whole load of stress off the soon to be newly-weds. I even recall having a few short panic attacks to the months leading up to the day of the wedding and they phoned me to psyche me up and pep talk me out of my haze. If any of my friends are looking for a stunning wedding space (WITH THE RECEPTION ON SITE!!! A huge rarity these days!) I will always recommend this place to the moon and back.

I…read morewas booking 3-4 venues a day trying to find the one...I was even considering not having the wedding in KC because the venues didn't have that "WOW" factor. I pulled up to The DeLeon..before I got out of my car I called my fiancé and told him that I hadn't looked at the venue yet but I know this is THE ONE This brick building was a beauty. I've never seen a place so beautiful in my life. Jodie greeted me at the door for a tour and she was just as beautiful as her venue. As I looked around in every room with Every step I took I fell more and more in love with this place. The colors and all the decor the venue had were so me! I booked another tour the following week so my fiancé can have a look...We took the tour with Eric. Eric is a blast and his personality lights up the room. He's the type of person you can talk to for hours yet it feels like minutes. Good guy! My fiancé was so quiet I couldn't tell if he liked the venue I was getting worried. when the tour was complete and we were in the parking lot he looked at me and said this is the one I was beyond excited and it was time to start planning. I've never been married before and I felt so overwhelmed. Jodie and Eric were always available by phone, text, or email and I can honestly say without their help I couldn't have done this all. They directed me to the caterer, DJ Mike with Fernando productions, the photographer Jared Cook with JC photography, the florists, etc. I got the best of the best! Jodie and Eric helped with me the colors, the lighting, and table decor. Not one detail was missed and I seen it all come together on our wedding day of 2/22. I was blown away seeing all the final touches Jodie and Eric did. Candles were lit, rose petals were down, music filled the air and they did it with smiles on their faces and were ready to make my day one to remember. This place felt so alive and magical. They treated me like family. I felt so comfortable. I wish I can do it all over again and I wouldn't change a thing. Jodie and Eric was with us step by step. They directed us the whole way through. My hubby and I got lost a moment when we were cutting the cake and all we had to do was look at Eric and we were back on track.I had one of the hardest dresses to bustle and both Jodie and Eric jumped in and got it figured out together. They love what they do and they do it flawlessly. And ladies make sure to tell your guests that the centerpieces aren't available for take home..my mother thought they were and had her eye on a gold glitter tree. I was so embarrassed she ran off with it but it turned out to be one of the best highlights of the night. Eric had a good time teasing me about it and a hilliarious video surfaced on social media that has me laughing to this day still. Those are the types of memories I have booking my wedding with Jodie and Eric @ The DeLeon. I'm confident No other venue will compare. Thank you sooo much Jodie and Eric DeLeon. Tears filled my eyes typing that you made the most important day in my life one to remember and cherish forever
