Unfortunately, I fall into that stereotype of girls who barely know how to change a lightbulb. I knew I would need to find a reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy handyman, if I was to keep my sanity (and the house standing). Mike is this person! I first contacted him to put a computer desk and bookshelf together that I had ordered from Amazon. He arrived right on time with all the tools needed to get the job. I was surprised at how quickly he put everything together (not that I know how long it is supposed to take...only that it would have taken me a year). While he was here, one of my -supposedly- good quality chairs broke right from underneath my rear end. He was decent enough not to laugh at my shame and he was able to quickly fix the offending leg with tools he had on him and even reinforced the others, to help save me future embarrassment. Mike is not just a dude with a hammer, he really knows his trade. I can't say enough good things. If you need something done in the Woburn area, give him a call!

The National Grid gentleman arrived in less than an hour from notification. His first question: do you have a humidifier? Answer: yes. Turns out the gas flame was being affected by the minerals in the humidifying mist changing the flame's color to orange. I shut off humidifier and shortly thereafter the color of the gas flame had returned to its normal blue color. Thanks, Jason.

He called me back the same day and then came out a few days later to look at my roof. He gave me several different options depending on how much I wanted to spend. I knew I wanted him to fix the cap shingles on the peak and he quoted his rate for that work over the phone before he came. He pointed out some areas of the roof to monitor but did not make a hard sell--he said if I wasn't seeing any leaks he didn't want to possibly make things worse. He came back when he promised, did the work quickly and cleaned everything up before he left. It took him a bit longer to do the repairs than he expected, but he didn't charge me any extra. Lots of work! The guys at David Electric came & did me up. The cost was well under the price I had expected to pay. The employees were prompt, neat, polite and cleaned up after themselves (yay!). In the years since I've had them out for a few other lighting changes. My beautiful expensive dining room chandelier had some manufacturing issues. The hooks used to hold up the chandelier would break. Yeah always fun to look into the dining room and see the chandelier hanging by two out of three arms! But the boys at David Electric replaced all the bad hooks once I got replacements. Next big job is to replace some seriously old wiring. Got a great price on the job. Now I'm just saving up my pennies so I can afford it. No doubt as to who I am gonna call when I'm ready though!
