KC is a talented artist that empowers women on the most important day of their life or any other occasion. She has an eye for detail, color, and how to use makeup to accentuate your natural beauty without it looking overly done. Having modeled and been on stage my entire life, she is hands down the best make up artist I have ever had. She is focused on her client the day of, prompt, and drapes expertly. I would only say that due to the differences in the colors of my outfits, the foundation was a bit darker than my natural skin color for my second dress change - but it was minimal for how quickly she "turned me over" from ceremony to reception. Despite rumors about her, I am here to stand firm in stating that yes - she is not cheap but the quality of her work speaks for itself, no - she is not mean or stuck up, just strictly professional and demands the best from her clients since she provides the best in the industry, and no- there is nothing wrong with a divorcee once or twice or whatever. For those who choose to perpetuate rumors / gossip rather than look at the quality of the work, that's an unprofessional attitude that she and you are better off simply not working together. I am strict, professional, and demanding and we had zero problems in working together - in fact, we got along and appreciated one another so much that when she asked me to do a shoot for the cover of publication she was being featured in for an article she had written, of course I volunteered myself. She was so grateful for me missing an entire day of work and traveling 2 hours out to volunteer for a story that then made the cover of the paper, she offered me a free make up for any event as long as I was available. I thought that was an appropriate gesture as she typically pays her models and I had not even asked, but never had the opportunity to seize it, and when I asked 2 years later she stated it was no longer valid but she could discount her rate (despite me referring many clients to her, and continuing to volunteer myself for future shoots if it helped her career without asking to be compensated or anything). That's my only wonder, but I haven't held a grudge simply didn't understand it. Regardless, i have done shoots for other artists (hair and makeup) that are friends or attempting to launch their career as a volunteer, without one of them offering me anything despite me being the face of her company and the a huge blown up photo of me occupying the entire back wall of her office where she meets clients. I don't hold a grudge against her either, I am simply comparing two similar experiences in all of the shoots I have done and stage makeup I have done / had done. But I recommend KC without reservation if you are looking for a truly talented artist that is professional and has an excellent eye that delivers to make you more beautiful than anyone I have ever come across in the industry over years and years. Karuna is truly a superb make up artist and she has an excellent team! I got married over a year ago and had a friend refer me to Karuna. Weddings can be so stressful as is, but the minute I had my consolation I knew the only sure thing at this wedding will be my make up! KC did such a flawless job, beyond my wildest expectations! For her doing make up is not a job, buts its a passion and her talent truly shows. She also makes you look so flawless and not "cake like". Many brides can look overly done and tacky that I have seen that have had their make up done by other make up artists. Let me tell you a little something about KC-Makeup... Karuna and I are industry colleagues, and she is, without a doubt, one of the best makeup artists I've worked with. Poised and professional -- it's needless to say she'll deliver exactly as promised and then some. I've even seen her perform in some of the least ideal situations, and she has always outdone herself. Karuna did the makeup for my wedding almost 5 years ago. Not only did she make me look flawless during all my events (still getting compliments!) but she gave me some fantastic tips on how to prep my skin which I still use to this day.
