Where this company fell short is "fit and finish" and attention to details. Wall slightly out of square, gaps in joints. Even 1/2 the 25 or so panel latches were installed upside down. And, of course poor communication and finishing the job as promised (face to face) . I'd say find another company.

We had an under slab water leak around September 2024, and it was a frustrating experiencing…read morefinding plumbing, tile, and drywall/painting contractors who could deal with all of our problems to get everything fixed. It took 3 plumbing contractors before a company could even find exactly where the leak was under the slab; the first two contractors said "around here", but could not "promise" that they wouldn't have to chase a leak; if they were wrong. After we found the exact location, we had to find a contractor who could cut into the slab, repair the copper water line, prepare the slab for re-tiling, tiling options, and repair the drywall hole - and paint. That's where Vanessa of Evangeline Construction came into the picture. She did a great job assessing what was needed - and arranged the work in a timely manner. The plumber (and concrete worker) did a great job repairing the water line and prepping area for re-tiling. Their tiler's did a great job harvesting the same tile from a different part of the house - to fix the repair area, and installed new tile for the front entryway. The porch was incomplete after 8 months (ugh) so had NC step in and do all the electric, finish work and a custom doggie door for my 100# shepherd -- and he loves the access to the backyard. We had a bathroom with a tub insert that we had converted for my mom into a custom tiled shower. It's amazing. He went with her to the tile showroom and helped her pick it out. For both projects the crew was here on time everyday, the worksite was clean and neat, and they were professional and fun. We purchased our Charleston home in July of 2021. I also asked if they could get me into the house by the beginning of February 2022 (it was a significant renovation project - completely new kitchen from the studs out, 4 new bathrooms (including relocating 1 of the baths), new flooring, new electrical, new plumbing etc.). After purchasing the house, Salt Marsh prepared a detailed project budget that was remarkably near the amount that they provided as a rough estimate. Work began in early September. We moved in during the first week of February with a minimal punch list of items to be completed (mostly caused by supply chain issues). Most importantly, they have been diligent in working to clear the list. Working with our team from Salt Marsh could not have gone better. They are good at what they do, professional and well managed! This is our fourth major project (others were in New England) and I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed working with a contracting team as much as I have Salt Marsh Contracting. The process was as smooth and professional as you can ask for. It came in on budget (actually slightly under) and most importantly we couldn't be happier with the results!
