Another place I am very surprised to see a low rating. We had an amazing experience working with the staff to find our new dog that would fit alongside our life wants and needs. we were able to play with some potential options but ended up with this guy! I will be adopting from them again when I'm able to!

I went in looking for cats, and the lady with purple hair was extremely kind and knowledgeable, she showed me more cats that would fit what I wanted, gave me time to meet with the cats without pressure. She was so helpful and I ended up going home with Buddy Guy, now named Onyxia! The lady very much cared about the cats and knew their interests! I got Onyxia churu and she very much enjoyed it!! Thank you so much for your help and care! I felt like I was given all of the information I needed about the cats and I felt not pressured at all! This was an amazing experience! Thank you so much! My kitty is now as happy as can be and I am making sure she is spoiled!

Daisy!!! The most perfect dog

I have adopted two pets from KCPP!! I adopted my black cat and most recently I adopted my puppy dog. the adoption process is always so easy with them and it's so well rounded. They give you all the tools you could need to thrive. The vet help after we adopted our dog was such a blessing. I will always adopt my pets from Kansas City pet project. The work they do is so meaningful and really impacts the community. Our dog has been the most perfect first dog we could have asked for. We are so in love with her. Thank you for all that you do, it's life changing!!!

They let you walk in and adopt your new best friend. Your pet will not be problem free. They are off the streets and not living in the best conditions at the shelter. They do a general check up but they can't screen for everything it's cost prohibitive. The cost of adoption is not just the $60 to walk out of KCPP, but all the costs after. For me, I had to treat for worms, an anal glad issue (as a result of the worms) and a grooming. All in all about $200. I knew going into it that there would be other costs. At the end of the day, wouldn't change him for anything! I love him dearly and look forward to coming home to him.

He needs a friend. But kc pet projects volunteers won't allow it

I was told they would hold a cat for me due to a mix up in applications. Came the next day and the cat was gone. I have bilateral illinginal neuralgia. The kc pet project staff discriminates against you if you lose a cat! I'll get one off the street!!!

It is clean, organized and each cat is treated with individual special care. I've been adopting and volunteering at shelters my whole life across the country and this non profit really stood out. Their message is clear and their undeniable selfless love for these animals shines through most. Each cat there is so unique from tiny kittens of every breed to teenage cuties and large cats like Maine coons! The cat's kennels are set up in windows with plenty of light, play room, toys, kennel hammocks, kennel buddies so they can have ample time to socialize and with each kennel set up next to one another so they can interact with one another instead of live in solitude in a dark, windowless plastic box that I see most cats in shelters living in. They even have a fenced in courtyard with trees, grass and cute chairs where they let some of the outdoor indoor kitties get to lounge and watch birds. It warmed my heart and they could use all the help they can get from the community! The owner Mina, was telling me stories of all the ways she's helped around the city, tiny example of all the stories I'm sure she has. One story was about how she received a call from someone who had a cat giving birth outside in -10 degree weather and wouldn't come inside during and she went all the way out to rescue them all! She found homes for most but some were still there! She went into detail about how they specifically choose the right owners for the cats and anyone that might give them a bad feeling about not being a good fit they wouldn't adopt out to. That's HUGE for me. I hate seeing people unfit to adopt do it for the wrong reasons and it's a big fear of mine when fostering my own strays and giving them to shelters. They set them up with all their shots, vaccines, chip and spay/neutering. All at very low cost for a small non-profit. In all, I can't say enough about these women and what they are doing at Another Chance. I adopted my kitten from them and I hope you do too! They also except Venmo donations and volunteers! Check them out!

She let us keep our chosen cat at the rescue for many months until we were ready. Mina patiently walked us through the (very affordable) adoption process with lots of helpful advice. Highly recommend this place.

Then there was a multi-week gap in communication and eventually a text saying she didn't have the time or energy to help my pup out, all despite me having pre-paid for a 5 session pack. To make matters worse, she overcharged me by $100 for the pack. The only silver lining is that I was able to negotiate a partial refund. The whole experience soured me on Pam 4 Paws.

We purchased her puppy package for in-home training sessions with our French Bulldog, Greta. Not only did Pam teach us how to interact with her, but Greta LOVED her and learned so much from her visits. At only four months, Greta is now potty trained, comes on command, sits on command, gives, 'hi-fives,' is crate trained, started to learn how to go on walks with a harness, knows command, 'up,' and 'off,' can fetch, and we learned how to calm her when she gets over stimulated. She even began some skateboarding with her! Of course we have to put in the work to continue to in grain these things in a puppy, but I can't even begin to convey the wealth of knowledge Pam imparted on us, so that we could acclimate more into puppy life and so Greta fit into ours. Pam teaches the human as well as the dog giving you a wealth of information, going above and beyond so that you know why a dog does the things they do, how to manage the behavior, and how the dog will absorb the training. She eased my worries and I was pleasantly surprised how expertly she worked with little ones. I can't recommend her services enough.

My cat was dropped off for a scheduled 8:00 AM spay appointment and was required to fast beginning at 10:00 PM the night before. I was instructed to return at 3:00 PM for pickup, but after arriving on time, I waited approximately 90 minutes while six customers who arrived after me received their cats first. Throughout the wait, I repeatedly asked for updates and was told someone would be "right out." It was not until I went inside and insisted on answers that I learned my cat's surgery had not even been performed yet!!! The procedure ultimately took place around 5:00 PM, nearly nine hours after her scheduled appointment time. Communication was poor throughout the entire process. There was also confusion regarding my bill, and I was initially charged for the wrong package. While I understand that delays can happen, customers deserve honest communication and timely updates, especially when their pets have been fasting all day and undergoing surgery. My cat is home and recovering, but the lack of organization, transparency, and respect for customers' time made this a very frustrating experience. Based on my experience, I would have chosen my local veterinarian instead.
