She was adopted once before and brought back because the family had too young of kids for a 4 month old kitty. We found Meeny at a PetSmart event that Bonner Animal Rescue was at and I fell in love. I couldn't stop thinking about that sweet kitty that I knew I was going to bring home some day and be her forever home. About 2 weeks later, we called the shelter, set an appointment, and went to the appointment ready to give a kitty her forever home and the volunteers were very nice, passionate, and most of all they loved volunteering! We were there for about an hour visiting with Meeny making sure she was the right fit for us and 5 minutes later we were signing papers. After we signed papers, we left without a cat knowing that the next day, we would have a spoiled-rotten cat that loves chicken, and went to the store and got everything she would need and went home to get everything set up for her to enter her new life! When we went back the next day to pick up our kitty, she was all ready to go and all that was left was to pick her up and get things finalized. Meeny had a little bit of a scare, she thought I looked like a dog with my hat on and she got so scared she hissed and peed on one of the owners. When I took my hat off, she was all lovey again and she was ready to go. We also had another scare with a bell she was unfamiliar with and we went all around the shelter trying to find where Meeny, a tiny kitten, had gone. We brought out some "cookies" (treats) and she came right back. Meeny was our perfect match for our small family. When I got to KCPP they turned me down and said that these kittens were too old and to release them back outside. I wanted to help the kittens and socialize them but I didn't realize how difficult it would be. I have MS and it was taking a toll on my health. I called everywhere for help when my neighbor told me she had a friend that volunteered with Help Humane. She got in touch with her friend, Wendy and Wendy spoke with Help Humane and Help Humane agreed that they would take these kittens in, care for them, socialize them and adopt them out. I am so grateful to Wendy and Help Humane for giving these babies a chance!! If Help Humane didn't come to my rescue then I honestly don't know what I was going to do for these kitties. Summor the owner asked us details about our dog, and what dates we would need our dog to be walked. We were then e-mailed the invoice later that day. Also, there was a site where you could put in all the info about your dog (background, instructions, etc). There was also a meet-and-great before the first walk. Tony was great, and he had dogs himself. It was very evident he was a dog lover. My Layla went right up to him. He would sent daily progress reports along with pictures of Layla. My girl is very shy but she seemed to warm up towards Antonio towards the end. I am very grateful that he was able to walk and play with my dog during my absence. This seems to be a well run company and their online dog portal makes it easy to communicate with the dog handler. The website is informative and the billing was smooth and painless.
