Where do I even begin?…read more We had just a 28 person wedding including us, the bride and groom... Sounds simple, right? Well, we complicated it by marrying alllll the way out at Powell Gardens, and then doing to reception alllll the way back in town at Lidia's. Lots of driving! In addition to that, it was important to us (ok mostly me) to have a Zero Waste wedding- with stations set up all over the house/venues for waste to go to recycling, compost, Terracycle, burn-ables for our fire pit, etc. etc. It required a lot more work, and LaTasha helped to make it happen! LaTasha was CONSTANTLY on her feet, thinking ahead, anticipating my needs, conducting our rehearsal (we didn't know what the hell we were doing!!), picking up breakfast for us on the big day, wrangling folks for photos, collaborating with the photographer, making our yummy but somewhat boring looking cake POP with flowers and handmade bird toppers, video-ing all the toasts... I mean seriously, what can't she do?! She even helped me sneak a nerf bullet into my bestie-of-honor's bouquet so that I could surprise the groom with a silly inside joke during our vows when I handed him a flower with the nerf bullet tied to the stem... GOT HIM!!! Everyone in our families and close friend group admired LaTasha's hard work and cheerful can-do attitude. She fit right into the energy of our big day. She thinks of EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved working with her, and the amount of stress she saved me was just so impactful- my main goal for the weekend was to direct all our guests' well-meaning logistical questions to her, so that I didn't have to think or make decisions- I could just divorce my phone for the day and be present. It was one hell of a weekend. It would not have been as breezy and fun without LaTasha there to guide things.

LaTasha was my mom's wedding coordinator for her wedding - I was the matron of honor…read more LaTasha was seriously AMAZING!! She was incredibly organized, advocated for my mom to make sure all her needs and preferences were met, coordinated things with vendors. She made sure my mom did not have to lift a FINGER on her wedding day! She was with us for the rehearsal on Saturday directing to make sure everyone knew what was happening and from early morning on the wedding day until the last light was out at the venue in the evening. LaTasha helped with and ran everything from set-up to tear down, she kept detailed lists of every single thing we had for decor and who it belonged to and where it needed to end up. She is also one of the nicest people EVER while also being a hard-ass and making sure stuff gets DONE - coordinating with other vendors and also bridal party all while letting the bride enjoy her day (which is, seriously, exactly what you need in a wedding coordinator) I do not know how we would have gotten through the rehearsal and wedding day without her, not to mention all the times she talked my mom down about stressors and issues leading up to her wedding! LaTasha is an absolutely phenomenal wedding coordinator and absolutely everybody should hire her!! You don't even know it, but you need her running your special day!

I'll be honest, I never got BBQ. It never really appealed to me. That has changed because of the…read more180 room. The staff here was very helpful, they were there when you needed them, but not so much that they were in your face all the time. Perfect balance. I had some burnt ends, and they were tasty. I expected to load up on those for the evening, but I decided to try the famous Kansas City rubs I had heard so much about. BAM! I get it now! These ribs put every BBQ rib I have had before now to shame. My tastebuds now understand what ribs should taste like. It was a magical cross between perfection and awesome. I ate until I was ready to split a seam. Absolutely incredible. If you can get yourself here, do it... the food is amazing!

Because we always have so much fun in photo booths ourselves, we definitely wanted to have a photo…read morebooth at our wedding reception. After speaking to a few vendors we knew that Captured Memories Photo Booth was the one for us! They provided our photo booth, managed a candy table for our guests, and created our unique guest scrapbook from all the photo strips taken by our guests who then signed their strips afterwards. Kristin and her husband did a fabulous job at our wedding reception! Our guests were having such a great time in the photo booth that many returned for several trips during the evening. The booth props provided were varied and fun - perfect for inventive and creative fun by everyone young and old! The booth had a screen outside so everyone could watch what was going on in the booth and enjoy the fun too. Every trip to the booth resulted in four photos taken and four strips printed. One strip went into our guest book and the other three were given to the guests in that photo session to keep. Everyone had an absolute blast!! The photo booth was a real highlight during our reception - everyone said what a great time they had and how helpful Kristin and her husband were keeping things fun but moving along. We provided the candy for the candy table and Kristin supplied all the dishes, most of the décor, and bags for the candy, and kept the candy dishes full. Our guests loved browsing the dishes to pick out and bag up their favorites to take! Our unique photo strip guest book is truly fabulous! We love looking at all the photos of our families and friends having such a good time and reading their fun sayings and wedding advice they wrote under their photos afterwards. Kristin added fun balloon sticker sayings and page decorations throughout that make our book something really special!. Thanks to Captured Memories, we now have a lifetime of beautiful memories that we will relive with joy every time we look at our fabulous photo book with its photo booth strips capturing all our guests smiling and laughing for many years to come!

After meeting him while using his photobooth at a friend's wedding in 2011 (!!), I longed for a reason to work with Luxe Photobooth! Why? Well, the photos turned out beautifully, and I was able to order any size I wanted years later. Which worked out really well, because that wedding was one of the last times a big group of us were all together before a friend (who was also in attendance) was killed. So, we have those photos to last a lifetime, instead of just on a tiny little strip! I digress - fast forward to 2022. My brother was planning his wedding, and I decided to gift he and his fiance a photobooth. So, I finally got to work with Peter and Luxe! The process was smooth from start to finish, and the photos turned out OUTSTANDING! Need a photobooth in/around KC? Hire Luxe! I only wish I could hire him out in LA - where I've relocated to!

Peter was easy to work with, we worked over email to discuss a price quote and we were offered multiple options. I added an hour to our time limit for the event, and he went out of his way to make the entire evening special. Peter worked with Buffee Ann from Magical Moments to develop a really beautiful logo to use on our photos (he put a tartan kilt in the caption area as we had a Scottish wedding). He was incredibly personable and helped all of our guests take great pictures. The booth was pretty simple to use and he guided everyone through the steps, from choosing your filters to understanding the photo prompts. I'm not sure if this is common with photobooths these days, but Luxe had fun prompts for you to act out instead of whatever random photo you might have planned. :) This was a hit for our guests and I think everyone left the photobooth laughing. Peter also made sure all guests put in their email after the photos so they could have them digitally forever! He printed up extra copies, so all parties could take one home and made sure there were enough for people to add them to our photo albums we had available for guests to customize. All in all, this was one of the BEST experiences of the evening and I highly recommend Peter for your future event! I promise your guests will be delighted.

This vendor is careless and responded to negative feedback with a few nasty text messages…read more When I first talked to Heather at Simply Modish she was very nice but during the planning was least helpful in that department. She did not pay much attention to my budget and gave me suggestions of the highest vendors in town. A lot of which were family or friend owned. During my rehearsal she did not do her job at all. She did not have any control of my group and I ended up running my rehearsal because she did not have much of a voice. On my wedding day I was a bit late walking down the aisle. (Around 45 mins) she came up to my suite and yelled at me to hurry up and was saying people wanted to know where I was. At this point it was barely 6:00 and that was when my wedding was supposed to start. My cousin politely asked her to stop stressing me out and told her we would come down at 6:30. I walked down from my suite at 6:40ish and when I walked down the stairs my husband was standing there! I was so upset. When we texted after that day, she told me that since me and my husband were already married she assumed I was ok with seeing him. However she never asked me if it was ok for us to see each other. After our first meeting we met at her home to discuss planning and I noticed she had a sonogram on her refrigerator. I asked her if she was pregnant and she said yes and that she would be over 8 months during my day. Which was fine but I don't think she had any intention of telling me. She stated she would hire an assistant to help her for our day since she was going to be so far along. I wanted to meet the person so I knew that they would understand my vision for the wedding. She kept telling me I couldn't meet them and other excuses. On my day I found out that her assistant was her very own sister. She basically told me in the text that it wouldn't matter who it was since she didn't charge me for them. Which was not my concern I just felt like she was hiding it. After my ceremony my guests had no idea what to do or where to go next because they never made the announcement. My wedding party had to tell them to go up to the barn for cocktail hour. Her sister in my eyes wasn't clear on all the things that was going on because she failed to have her come to rehearsal. In the end she gave me her her vision of who I was and how I was going to be which was really rude. And I admit I never told her how unhappy I was because my husband was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt by telling me that she was going to be good on our day. However she managed to upset him too because of her careless attitude. I did hug her and and tell her thank you because I wasn't going to be mean or unprofessional to her on my wedding day but she said I was wrong for being polite. The things she messed up at my wedding were not things that she could fix. To me what's done was done. I was very nice when explaining to her my issues with her as to why I gave her a bad review and she did not care! She was rude and nasty! I advise all brides to pay a little extra for a planner. She took advantage of us and we cannot get our money back. She is a liar and will cheat you. She did the least amount of work for what we paid. My venue coordinator did more for me than she ever did. The bad part is my venue was basically all inclusive and we had under 50 guests and she still managed to mess up our day! STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR!

They also keep the space clean and organized, which is no easy feat given the nature of the business! The selection of crafts, while a bit pricey, is excellent. I've found that if it's in budget (you can find info on pricing on their website), you can find something fun for just about anyone. And regarding the price points, to me it does make sense given the cost of materials and labor involved. Whenever I go, I always leave room in my budget to add the suggested tip for the employees since they do such a great job and deserve to be paid well for it. Their specialty shakes are also AMAZING! Seriously, the price point they're at makes sense considering all of the extra goodies that are piled on top of the shake itself, and they're delicious! Just be sure to grab a napkin or two if you order one since it can get a bit messy. My one complaint, if I can even call it that, is that when it's especially busy it can be a bit cramped trying to walk around between the tables. That said, it's not bad enough for me to dock them a star since they use and manage their space well, and when I've been there people were generally conscientious of their surroundings which in turn reduced potential problems. All in all, Creative Culture is a bit pricey but very fun and well run! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to go for a celebration, special occasion, or even just because. It does get a little busy, and you may be sitting right next to people you don't know. But it didn't feel too cramped or crowded still, and it's perfect for chatting if you're up for it! And to add since this is something I often look up as well. LGBT friendly, we felt safe and comfortable.

When I viewed the completed engagement session my jaw dropped! I anticipated greatness for the wedding weekend and I was not disappointed. Her and the team were amazing to work with. They captured all the "groupings" that are important to the parents sometimes more than the couple, but she spent an amazing amount of dedicated time to the bride and groom. She had to call an audible on the wedding day as the venue unfortunately became overheated during the day for family portraits but made it an effortless transition. Her team went through every table of guests to make sure we had photos with them and after having my other two daughters married, I will tell you that you will not keep track of that yourself. The video is on another scale and Luke you are a genius. Looking at the product she delivered I can tell you that she is truly "worth every penny" and yes, it is a lot of pennies. She made our wedding look like Taylor Swift's...ok maybe not quite that grand but more impressive than what it really was.
