The studio is outfitted with advanced FAR infrared technology, built from untreated cedar, illuminated with chakra lights that fill the room with healing color, and finished with a pink Himalayan salt wall that elevates the entire experience. The instructors are wonderful across the board, and many remember your name even after just a few visits. Christian's classes in particular feel like a lovely, hypnotic yoga trance. They also offer hot mat Pilates, which is a great option when you want a break from yoga, and their Sweat + Sculpt classes are a real workout -- I don't even need to go to a regular gym on those days. I walk out looking like I showered in my yoga clothes, which is exactly what I'm going for. At the end of class, instructors bring around a cold washcloth scented with lavender or other essential oils -- it feels like heaven. If you're serious about hot yoga and want a real workout, this is the only place to go in Kansas City.

Yes, you will be sweating. At Sweatheory, you can get a good sweat session by either sitting in one…read moreof their infrared saunas or by taking an infrared fitness class. The infrared saunas are bookable in one-hour time slots, and you get your own private space with a changing area and a shower, a sauna with Bluetooth connectivity, and wellness shots to take at the beginning and end of your session. If you want to come with a friend, there are two-people saunas available as well. There are different yoga and pilate classes available. However, space is limited. My guess is that the room can only hold 10 people, which is nice if you prefer being in a small group. The facility is clean, and the staff is nice. I have done a sauna session and taken a yoga class. The sauna session was relaxing, and the yoga class was a good workout. My body felt great after each experience.

Check the website before you go: http://www.innerspaceyogakc.com/ ** They have a generous new-student two-week special. I tried the special when I was in the Hyde Park area this summer and went to as many classes as I could fit in. I go back now when I am in the area or when I have out-of-town yoga-loving friends who I want to impress. I took a friend who is a New York yoga teacher, and she was totally won over. Same reaction from several other friends I have brought with me to a class at ISY. The owner's artistic abilities shine in this place. I remember loving the GREEN that is in the studio with beautiful plants in the entrance area. Laura's classes were OUTSTANDING. She courageously started the studio and lends her love of the practice to everyone who walks in the door. She has created an environment, a space to be completely relaxed and go deep into the practice (if that's where you are) or dip your toe into what yoga is all about. She is so thoughtful and kind with her instruction and demeanor. All the teachers were welcoming. I learned something new or heard an instruction in a new way and would return again to any of their classes. I would highly recommend Kelly. Her brilliance in the art of yoga is only matched by her caring instruction and dedication to her students. If you can make her classes here or see her name on a line-up at another studio or yoga event- you want to do yourself a favor and GO! So, no, I'm not related to anyone involved, and yes, I clearly recommend this place. To anyone. Newbie on up. Oh, and come 5-10 minutes early if you can. It's really good for you to get your moneys worth and ease in. **I did not add specifics on time or schedule or prices, as that is really clear on their website and postcards, and can change with time. I hope this review helped you!
