This spanish radio station adds itself to the growing list of countries aside from the USA of…read moremellow music radio stations with the KISSfm name... some of the countries already having KISS music stations are the UK, Germany, Brazil, Australia, and 20+ others, and growing every year. Started in Spain in 2002, signs soon after were put up all over Rota where I live and I tuned in for a change from the talkative spanish stations I'd swap out daily.... the KISS sound was very good with - back then - seemingly hours of non-stop relaxing, mellow music without commercials. While that has changed, if you like american and spanish music and wan a good mix, this is your station! With different frequencies to tune in depending on your spanish province, you can hear the great music that KISSfm offers. While they list their music as being adult contemporary, I've heard rap (rarely), country, R&B, and folk played, but all good (except for that rare rap). They're starting to talk a bit more than previously, which I don't like... but still... the music is outstanding and the spanish mix is quite excellent. Granted, you may hear every song played in the first hour of the day a few more times later throughout the day but as I said: it's all great music. During the nights, I think it's a tape running as I hear few commercials and occasionally that dreaded DEAD AIR, though these days it's getting to be a rare event... thank goodness!! In the mornings now, they air traffic incidents in the principle major cities: Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid which is quite useful. I would say 90% of the music heard - and I've been listening to this music non-stop for over six years - is repeated each and every day, and just a few thrown in to show they DO occasionally air something new. If your primary language is english, this would be a great way to brush up on your spanish skills, though some of the DJs talk quite quick.... think machine-gun!!! hahahahaa in Rota the frequency to tune in is 95.4FM though there are separate freqs available for Sevilla and Jerez.

Okay, I'm going to attempt a review here, although my info might be a bit old, and not up to date…read more (PLEASE correct me if I am wrong.) I think that Aurora Communications is the official company name of what once was San Francisco Radio Station KGEI. See the following HISTORY: I'm herewith going to provide a brief review of this listing, along with several links that readers can visit for more detailed and historical data about this listing. All details herewith compliments of The Bay Area Radio Museum, FEBC International and Amateur Radio ('Ham') Licensee/Station W6ITL and Quantum Zero-Point Communications, San Mateo, CA. For a background of the Review Listing herewith, the following KEY WORDS are herein after provided, all of which pertain to: Aurora Communications, San Francisco Shortwave Radio Broadcast Station, KGEI (1939-1995). Location: KGEI Radio Transmitters and Station were located just East of Redwood Shores, on the approximately 50 acres of baylands/bayfront flatlands, shared with KNBR Radio Station Transmitters. This is South of Foster City and the small island known as 'Bird Island', and North of Steinberger Slough and Bair Island. The Station/Transmitter site was nominally accessible by a hardened dirt road, from Radio Road, Redwood Shores, this dirt access road passing directly under the very high-voltage PG&E main-power overhead transmission lines, that exist along this side of San Francisco Bay. Recreational: This entire peninsula area, hard by the waters of the San Francisco Bay, is 'fronted' by extensive dikes/seawalls, along which there was (at last investigation, however some time ago) a hiking/bike path, on top of the seawalls, which might have been improved today, with a paved hiking/trail, suitable for recreational hikers/bikers, who might enjoy viewing the antenna site and bayfront area. However, it is reported that much of this bayfront peninsula area has now already been developed, with new housing construction. KEY WORDS follow: KGEI (1939-1941); KGEI (1941-1945); KGEI (1954-1955); President John F. Kennedy; Cuban Missile Crisis; CIA; Langley, Virginia (CIA Headquarters); 'Voice of America'; General Electric (GE); Golden Gate Exposition, Treasure Island, San Francisco (1939); Amateur Radio Station W6XBE; Far East Broadcasting Company, International (FEBC); 1939 Folies Bergere, on KGEI; Hollywood Movie Stars Cesar Romero and Sally Eilers, on KGEI; KGEI Studio at the Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill, San Francisco (1941); Radio Personality William Winter, broadcasts on KGEI to the Pacific Regions during WWII; AMVETS; Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS); Pearl Harbor (Dec. 7, 1941); Bataan and Corregidor, Philippine Islands; President Ramon Magsaysay of the Philippines; General Douglas MacArthur; Bob Hope/Clark Gable, on KGEI; Armed Forces Network (AFN); Hollywood Actress Loretta Young; Pat Sajak ("Wheel of Fortune"), on KGEI during Korean and Vietnam Wars; American Forces Vietnam Network (AFVN); Hollywood Actor Robin Williams, "Good Morning, Vietnam!"; KPO/KNBC/KNBR/KGEI; "Voice of the Philippines", KGEI; 'Freedom Broadcasts', on 'Friendship Station' KGEI; 'Voices Overseas'- TIME; 'War of Propaganda'- TIME; Edward R.
