Ridge Wireless an ISP you actually feel really good about supporting/paying. Great internet connection and support! Have been a customer for 2.5 years or so. Great communication and support from Ridge Wireless. Installation went great, detail orientated, conscious about not making more holes than necessary. I love the business model of paying for what the minimum speed you need, then that is your guaranteed speed. You can always expect at least that speed, almost always you get more. I don't think we have ever even truly had an outage. One day the speed was slow and I was getting dropped packets, emailed support and got a response quickly back. Our radio or modem had an uptime of like a year, A quick power cycle and everything was back to normal. I doubt I ever had an ISP where I could have had a uptime of over a year on their equipment! read more

I have been a customer with this company for about 5 years. And for the last year the internet speeds have been so terrible and the response I got from the CEO Mike was "must be your router" after bypassing the router I was regularly receiving speeds of 1mbps and less ever night. I told mike about this and he made sure before anything else that if his tech finds no problems with my speeds then I have to pay $250. I mean I pay $179 a month for this internet and I needed the internet speed to be better so I said okay. Once the tech came out after 3 weeks he plugged his computer into the dish and said all is good. Charged me 250 and Mike said if your going to complain I'll cancel your internet which he did after I said but it's still slow even in bypass... so great service mike and I can't wait to see how your company goes Also wish I could give 0 stars read more

Coyote Grange needed an internet solution. When we first searched, unfortunately, we didn't find any local WISPs. We looked around and saw lots of Hughes net on the neighbors' roofs, so we tried that. What a nightmare. Slow, unreliable, useless. We also tried Verizon Wireless, but quickly discovered that their caps on unlimited aren't as workable as we expected in our situation. When I complained about our Hughes experience on Facebook, I learned that Ridge could service our location and signed up quickly thereafter. In comparison with Hughes who sent an installer with an attitude problem unwilling to mount the antenna where we wanted it, Ridge sent out a very friendly installer who went above and beyond. Where Hughes had low bandwidth, high latency, and terrible customer service, Ridge has been a dream. Extremely responsive and very effective customer service that knows exactly what I need and provides a prompt correct answer every time. The focus at Hughes was locking me in and collecting money. The focus at Ridge has been making sure that we are getting the service we need and helping us out. I wish I had found Ridge first. We live in the Los Gatos mountains and have enjoyed great service from Ridge for many years. If you live in an area without service from the normal huge companies, give Ridge a call. As others have mentioned, after the CZU fires we had to use a competitor for several months while Ridge rebuilt a tower that had burned down. Ridge is so much better, especially for customer service. You get quick, personal service - often from the owner. Also, when you look at pricing keep in mind that their speeds are the MINIMUM speeds you will get. We usually get at least 5x faster speeds than our minimum guarantee. Most other companies specify their MAXIMUM speed and have no guaranteed minimum speed. I highly recommend this company. read more

The final chapter in the long journey to have internet installed up at my house has closed--it was a great ending. After coming up to the house on more than one occasion to try and establish line of sight to his base station, Mike finally found what ended up being this tiny area between two redwoods that wasn't more than 3' wide. I have no idea how he made that spot work, but I don't call him Batman for no reason. Eric, Scott, and the winged-wonder showed up to install last week, and they had their work cut out for them: They had to wire my house in two spots (across the two-story roof line), as well as a separate unit down the hill, to an antennae that sat more than 300' away. Not only were they able to wire up and install the entire property in one day, they did it to my landlord's exacting specifications; Esthetics are paramount to her. Mike's team listened patiently, and never once got rattled at the long list of "must haves." By the time they left, all the wires were hidden (across the entire 1/2 acre of property), and the equipment blended into the structure of the house and the surrounding woods, like she wanted. The bottom line is that this process was totally worth the wait. I live in a very wooded area on top of a ridge in Scotts Valley, and had Mike not been persistent, I would be relegated to using a hotspot as my permanent internet source. I have never updated a review like this, but quite frankly, sharing my thoughts about bad Mediterranean food pales in comparison to finding good internet. Why? Because I work in the Silicon Valley and REQUIRE GREAT INTERNET SERVICE. I telecommute; I work after hours; and I need a reliable connection to a VPN (and Netflix!). Mike is knowledgeable, deploys the the best and most reliable technologies, (he is well connected with the latest Silicon Valley WIFI providers), and is deadly focused on a cost effective, kick-ass service. His team is available 24x7 and by the way - Mike treats my internet service like it it was service for his own home! I live in the East San Jose Hills - and have 7 other providers/solutions over the past 30 years, and Ridge has been my "go-to" provider for almost 4 years. Mike has me pointed to one of his many access points/towers that provide great coverage, and provides me with symmetric performance that is 3X higher than what I was previously able to achieve (25-30Mbit). Ping times are amazing (Speed of light helps - I can see his access point from my house - 6-8msec). Things are quite tricky in remote hillside locations. This past month I had a performance issue, contacted Ridge and Mike responded to me (within 15 minutes at 11PM!). He figured out the issue, made some changes to my configuration (first remotely) and then decided he would come onsite to check out things. Today I have service that outperforms what he initially installed for me several years ago - all at the same great price. Mike let me know within 15 minutes when he would arrive, performed his magic in a short time, was very patient with all of my technical questions - and when he left, I had more reliable and a higher performance service. I recently came from living off grid at the tip of Baja Mexico, about an hour east of Cabo, on the east cape. It's all solar and batteries, but you can get internet with a dish on your roof, pointed to a nearby mountain top. How cool is that? I'm out in the dessert, watching Netflix and HBO NOW with nary a timeout for buffering. I came back here to the Bay Area and was soon presented an opportunity to look over a property on the east hills of San Jose. It's off grid, but because I have experience now, I took up the challenge and one of the first things I did was research radio internet providers...something that just a year ago I was completely unaware of. Found Ridge Wireless and a few others, but because of the stellar Yelp reviews, I went with them. They did a site survey the next day, and while I hope they are eventually able to do the install sooner than the frustrating amount of time I had to wait, it was worth the wait. This is the best Internet service I've ever had, and that includes fiber-optic in a downtown San Jose loft some years back. Comcast/Xfinity? Frauds, at least in an urban environment. I have a vacation home up in Arnold, CA, and the Comcast screams up there and is wholly reliable. Less density. So, four days now on Ridge with just KICK-ASS INTERNET. Such a joy.
