I love love love going here. I've been going to Tanya's for probably four years now. Moved to Cali…read moreand came back and I still go to her place. I usually always have the students do my nails or eyebrows or whatever else it is I need. One, because I like to save money where I can, and two, because it's a cool experience to start with a student when they are learning and to be with them as they get better. As always, expect for the students to take longer and plan of spending more time there, but remember, you get what you pay for! Also, be sure to speak up about what you like or don't like but be kind. It will help you get what you want but it will also help the students. Overall, I enjoy the experience and the staff and the prices. You can also always opt to have a professional do your services instead as well (obviously for a higher price). I love the place and definitely recommend going if you are like minded!

The owner Tanya took her time to understand our needs and what we really wanted and made sure her staff/ trainees were very informed. She monitored her trainees and taught them very well, her leadership shows in the way she works with her staff together both in a professional and yet friendly way.The nail technicians were very professional and maintained proper hygiene along with great care and consideration to what we asked for. We got our nails done with some art nail and were very satisfied with the results and would definitely suggest it to our family/friends. Looking forward to going there again.

My daughter just finished the course for nails and esthetics and let me tell you...what a waste of…read moretime and money! There is definitely a lot of discrimination going on there, especially with the dress code. The nail curriculum is so outdated they are not even teaching them how nails are being done in the salons right now, these students are set up for failure right from the beginnin. This school is charging so much for a kit that unfortunately they pry won't ever use. The school itself is ghetto along with all their product! With all the money these students pay each month you would think the school would at least use new towels on clients but no they are all stained up and gross looking. They want the money so bad that they will allow people sick with highly contagious diseases to still attend and risk getting other students and clients sick. We were very disappointed in the whole process! One of your educators at the Springfield location (Miss Angie) should NOT be teaching and if you don't believe me go there and actually ask the students about the crap she pulls. If you are considering this school PLEASE DONT! You will be disappointed! Oh and when you have a concern and leave a message for the campus manage, they won't get back to you, they don't care! Just keep making those payment!

I went to this school three times now for services. First two times were wonderful. This last time…read moreI went I was there for six hours for a mini partial highlight and a haircut, there were so many questionable things that happened. One of which was the student bleached my hair and left three inches or more of roots? Then, didn't apply the toner when I asked about it at the wash bowl, took me back to her chair and combed my untoned hair for 30 minutes with a fine tooth comb. Then, took me back to the bowl to tone and re-comb my hair. It was just weird and unlike anything I've experienced. I understand they're learning here, but the fact an instructor wasn't concerned I was there for so long was sooo alarming. I stayed an hour past close while all the students and instructors run out of the building. I would've been understanding if my hair turned out what I was kinda expecting, but my roots are still really dark and it's not blended well. It's mind blowing they didn't wonder what this girl was doing for six hours. I tried calling to have a teacher call me back and no one has called. Apparently I have to go back in and have it evaluated. I would just stay away if this is how they're gonna treat clients. School or not, don't make people struggle on their own or wait six hours for a service.

I went to get my hair done for full head of highlights and the student that was gonna work on me…read morehad quite a few questions to ask from a teacher. She came back crying before she even started my hair. The teacher told her she wouldn't help her!! This girl then started on my hair and tries 3 more times to get this teachers help! Still the teacher refuses!! My hair ended up having som much that just detached because the bleach had gone too far, it looked like I was a poodle getting a hair cut cause that's how much fell...the toner wasn't working properly for her, she couldn't figure out how to help my hair! She asked for help from her teacher (who's named Madison) and was refused! She is a freaking TEACHER! That's literally her job! Yet all she cared to do from 10am-5pm was talk to 4 other student girls like they were besties... she basically made a student to fail on my hair! That's wrong and I'm pissed beyond belief! I really want this Madison lady FIRED! Idk how it'd work in this field but she shouldn't even be allowed to have her license after this crap! I had to walk out of the salon with toner still in my hair because I was late to picking up my son... and she had tried everything she could in her knowledge and it wasn't reacting nicely for her... I can't blame the student because she tried even after the teacher was blatantly rude like that. My hair still isn't toned properly, I lost so much hair, and I have a crazy amount of breakage.

I was excited to learn of a new salon academy via Groupon. I've had great experiences at salon…read moreacademies before and it's great to give student opportunities to practice. I was able to easily schedule an appointment online for an Experience facial. You can choose who you'd like to with based on level or let them choose for you. I didn't have a preference so I was instantly paired with Valeria. The moment I walked in the salon, I was greeted and assisted in checking in. I had asked if it was possible to add a brow wax, which they were able to add on for me. Valeria greeted me about 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, shook my hand and introduced herself. I was able to fill out a paper based on my needs or concerns. She then took me back to the massage/facial room. It was quiet and peaceful with relaxation music. She gave me a robe to change into and a bin to place my personal items. She even offered a pillow for my back and legs to get comfortable while she began setting up. The facial experience was incredibly relaxing and soothing. I nearly fell asleep. She took her time to go through each step, even massaging my shoulders and head. The only thing I would change would be to change gloves so when massaging through the hair and head, you aren't walking out with super greasy strands of hair. I had just washed my hair the day before and it was loaded with moisturizer and very greasy post facial. Other than that, perfection! Post facial I was taken out into the main salon to have my brows waxed. The man working the front desk when I checked in came to ask me about my facial and chatted with me for a few minutes. He was incredibly nice and great to chat with. Valeria touched up my brows, while ensuring she was being gentle. It didn't hurt at all and she did a great job touching up my unruly hairs. I had a great experience at the Summit Salon Accademy and I look forward to trying out other salon experiences, including taking my daughter for her first mani/pedi. I highly recommend checking them out as the prices are amazing and the students and teachers are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
