There's a lot to say here, but let me sum it up - book Kris and the ProPaintJobs team and you'll be happy. (Book them in advance - they're popular!) I sent Kris a yelp message about a month ago for a project I had pretty far away from their Brooklyn base of operations and he responded right away. He called me and said "I'm painting right now, can I call you later tonight?" When he got home later, he kept his word and we spoke for quite some time. Now, Kris asked me some questions that I was pretty clueless about - so he *looked my new place up* and told me what I needed to do! He gave me a quote over the phone and said that we were going to stick with that unless some really significant extra work came up that required him to keep an extra guy. I followed up with Kris a few times over the course of the month and he was very responsive and thorough the entire time - and when game day came, we walked the place together and agreed on everything that was going to happen. I had extra crown moldings he didn't know about - no problem. I had some extra rooms to paint - not a big deal. I had some appliances that needed the walls behind them done - sure thing. Kris explained what was going to happen exactly and how they were going to finish an entire two bedroom apartment in a small two day window... ..and come the next day, it was done *perfectly*! I was disappointed with the job Kris' team did on my apartment. They missed a lot of spots, and there was wall paint on the trim and trim paint on the walls, and when I called about having them fixed, the guy on the crew that Kris had put in charge argued with me extensively. I simply said that he could come over and see. He finally conceded when he saw for himself, but did he need to argue with me? Also, there were big drips of paint all over the bathroom tile after the second visit. This would have warranted a three star review, maybe, but I took a dress out of my closet this morning and noticed that there were streaks of paint all over it. UGH. read more

We recently had three major paint jobs we needed - all that had to be done within a 2 week time period. We researched and called around to get quotes from about half a dozen professional painters. We found these guys on Yelp (side note, Yelpers, you never fail me!) and from the first convo we were really impressed. Kris is professional and phenomenal at what he does. His quote was actually less than the others we got - which of course always makes you wonder what's the catch... But honestly, no catch! These guys were great. They were on time, worked hard, were efficient, paint job was awesome (including repairing holes/cracks in the wall, caulking, repairing an area in a ceiling and wall that had water damage - basically, everything!) I could not be more satisfied with the work Kris performed. It was an excellent job and he accommodated me with my very limited time frame. Kris is a perfectionist and the work clearly demonstrates this. I am a real estate agent and I needed to have a coop painted in order to put it on the market. We needed our rental unit painted on short notice with a tiny window between tenants and found Kris on Yelp. I cannot say enough good things about him. To begin with, his estimate was about half the amount that other well-reviewed places were quoting us; he was incredibly fair in his pricing. He was clear, friendly, and great to communicate with on all the advance setup; he ordered the paint, brought it over and showed up early in the morning to make sure the job got done on time. When I initially spoke with him, I hadn't been able to get into the unit to fully inspect its condition, and after I set up the appointment I found more damage to the walls (nail holes, screws, holes in sheet rock, etc) than we had expected. Kris was totally easygoing about it and fixed all the damage quickly and beautifully. Despite the fact that there was more damage to the walls than we'd originally discussed, he finished MORE THAN A DAY EARLY and charged me LESS than the estimate he quoted. He also painted the interiors of two closets for free. The place looks beautiful, the details are flawless, cleanup was excellent, and he was wonderful to work with throughout the process. In addition to the great work, clear and responsive communication, easy scheduling, fast finish time and reasonable pricing, Kris is also just clearly a guy who takes pride in his work, has a fantastic work ethic, and really cares about everyone coming away from a job happy. This review is long over due, but that doesn't make it any less accurate. We had a very narrow window of time in which to paint our 3-bedroom apartment before moving in, and Kris and his team were SO accommodating! They not only gave us the lowest quote (by a couple THOUSAND $$), but they also got ALL THE PAINT FOR US, and had the whole place painted in a single afternoon! They were on time, worked hard, and left the apartment looking wonderful. Not only that, but I have to give Kris a huge shout out for his honesty and professionalism. I had tried to describe our long hallway when going over the quote with Kris, but failed to communicate that it was really two hallways in one (I know. Perfect for a Slip and Slide one day...) Either way, Kris had not figured the length of the hallway into his initial quote. Rather than charge me extra when he showed up and realized the length of the hallway, he said it was his fault for not clarifying how long the hallway really was when we originally spoke and didn't charge an extra penny above his initial quote! What a guy! I highly recommend Kris and his team, and I highly recommend you make every effort to communicate the length of any extra long hallways in advance! Kris is amazing. If I could give 10 stars, I would! The whole process was so easy and seamless! I called for an estimate, he came out to our newly purchased home on Staten Island, and did a walk through for a quote. I wasn't home so I explained over the phone what we wanted done, and he was absolutely fine with not having us over for that part (the construction guys working on another project opened the door for him; it really saved me taking off work and making an hour round trip from Manhattan!) That same night he emailed me, and his quote was definitely less then the other 2 that I received. His email was super-descriptive, and he included all of the paint necessary in his quote. This guy is definitely a professional, and he has great and positive attitude. We threw a few last-minute add-ons on the project, and one of his helpers got sick - but he still got the job done on schedule! Cannot recommend him enough! If I ever need another pain job - Kris is the man I will call. Great communication, can-do attitude and perfect quality. A++ P.s. We had just bought a new condo and needed to get it painted. It was quite a big job, with 3 bedrooms and high ceilings. Chris and his team were able to get it done quickly and did a very good job. They started very early in the morning (at 7am) and worked on a Saturday and Sunday because we were eager to do other work on the apartment and then move in - which was very impressive since most painters wont work Sundays. This is my frist Yelp review as I've never been moved to write one. Kris is great! Just talk to him on the phone, and you can see how enthusiastic he is and how much he wants to just do a good job. I called on a Monday, got a quote Tuesday, Confirmed Wed, gave him my paint colors Saturday, and my 2 bed/2bath was done by Sunday. You can't ask for a quicker timeline. I arranged to give him my keys earlier and just put stickies with the color on each wall, and no other coordination was needed. He even patched some of the holes in the wall.
