Let me start by saying I wish I would have contacted Great Lakes Appliance first. Our dryer stopped…read moreheating up and therefore was not drying our clothes properly. As this is one of the appliances covered under DTE's Home Protection Plus plan we have I contacted them and they sent out a company called Phil's Services. They came out on August 25th and said some parts needed to be ordered to complete the repair and they should be in in around 3 to 7 days and that someone would call me to schedule an appointment to have them installed. Weeks go by and no one from Phil's had called me so I take it upon myself to call and see what the hold up is. I am told I need to speak with their Parts Department, but no one was available and they'd call me back shortly. The following day someone finally calls me back and says the parts are on their way and should be in within 3 days. I said "Great, let's schedule an appointment now for you to come out and install them." and the guy tells me he can't do that until the parts actually come in. Two more weeks have gone by and no one from Phil's had called me back. Fed up and aggravated beyond belief I contacted DTE and they sincerely apologized for the troubles and said they would send out someone from Great Lakes and they were a much better company to deal with than Phil's. The tech was scheduled between 1:00PM and 2:00PM, but actually showed up early. Kudos to that! My only small complaint is he didn't call to let me know he was on his way. Luckily I work from home so I was here. No big problem. I explained everything that had been going on with Phil's and he seemed genuinely shocked. According to him he said that both the flame sensor and coils that were originally diagnosed as the problem per Phil's are very common parts any HVAC tech should have on hand in their truck and the issue should have been fixed that day. If they don't have them in their truck then their shop most certainly does. The fact I had to wait a month and never got a call back from Phil's was truly unacceptable. He then went on to tell me that it didn't even look like the tech from Phil's even opened up the dryer to see what was wrong and just took an educated guess at the problem. Reason being is that of the two parts that were needing to be replaced per Phil's, only one was actually bad which were the coils. Not more than 15 minutes later he had the part replaced and the dryer working again. Thank God for Great Lakes Appliance. They will most certainly get my business again if a problem ever arises.

Everyone was great with the kids and made it feel like a fun little event, not just a store activity. It's the Home Depot, so the selection is massive and exactly what you'd expect. Even though I didn't buy anything this visit, prices are usually fair and it's nice knowing you can find just about anything in one stop. Really appreciate this location for doing the kids workshops and creating a positive, community-feel experience.

I showed them my phone and was recommended a device that could hold 1TB. (Samsung Portable SSD T7). It seemed reasonable, held more than I needed, and wasn't too expensive. I was given a relatively simple method for preparing/formatting the device, prior to usage. It did not work. I called Best Buy's and was told that the store should have formatted the device prior to my leaving. Just bring it back in and they will do that. Great. I had a lot going on and expected this to be a simple process. Return to the store: "If this device is compatible with your phone, there will be a charge to format it through our technicians." No one on the support call stated that. "That is because they are a support line that is not directly connected with our store, and they simply do not know how it works. (Sorry, Best Buy - don't your employees know what your rules are??). I decided to go with the flow at this point because I wanted this to work. They escorted me (literally) to the technical desk, took the device to the back, returning to state it would not interface with my phone, and they could not format it. I could take it home and try to format it to my computer. REMEMBER: This was a device their own employee recommended for this purpose. I requested a refund since they failed now, three ways. "Sorry, you are past the return date and we cannot refund your money." They already stated, in-store, that this would work, WITH the phone right in front of them. They said by phone they would format it for FREE. Now, they can neither format it, nor refund the money. I can try to get it to interface with my computer, and if that does not work, I am out the $80, with a device I cannot use. SHAME ON YOU, BEST BUY. You should service your customers, and not act like you own the electronics world. Whether I am tech savvy, or not tech savvy. You have failed me as a customer in service, word, and attitude. SHAME ON YOU, BEST BUY, for not caring about your customers. This is not how a company who wants to remain in business ought to treat its customers.

The microwave was too large (an undercounter versus over the range - yes, there is a difference), it took SEVEN follow up efforts to finally get my money back. Home Depot no longer carries a contract with Shermin Williams, therefore no contract with Minwax. They do not carry Minwax Polyacrylic or Polyeurathane anymore. I come to this location to purchase poly for my furniture. They also sell amazing paint, especially Shermin Williams. They do have some paint samples that are on a rack for a cheaper price due to being mixed improperly. The people working at the paint department are always super helpful and knowledgable about the paint department. The employees at this location are always helpful when it comes to asking for guidance. They always lead you in the right direction. They even offer helpful information on how to fix things.

We had heard horror stories of contracted, big box store crews refusing to haul away refrigerators so a store with its own crews made us feel more secure.

Walked out the door with a delivery date of Monday the following Monday. Refrigerator was delivered and installation finished at 9:45AM Monday. So, less then 48 hours after purchasing our refrigerator(including a Sunday) it was installed and the old frig removed along with all packing material. The same refrigerator from Lowes/Home Depot/Best Buy was the same price, with delivery at least 3 additional days. Not sure how we can beat the price, the service or the convenience.
