We came here on the Sunday evening of Saint Patrick's day and it was amazing! They were able to sit us right away and the service was great. I got the bangers and mash and have no notes. We originally started out at The Boxty House over by temple bar but left due to the service being terrible, will be leaving a scathing review later...anyway while sitting at The Boxty I did a quick search for plan b and we ended up here. Boy am I glad, as soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. Service was quick and the food and drinks were delicious. I ordered the Irish Stew, my apologies about not providing a picture, it was so good I forgot to take one. The portion sizes are very large and very filling. My mother had the fish and chips - she was so surprised that she enjoyed everything on the plate, including the green peas. My sister had the Vegetable Curry Soup- delicious as well. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, which was a relief after leaving the other place. 5 stars for the food, service, the layout and a clear indication where the toilets are. We came to this place as there were lots of reviews it was somewhat away from the hustle and bustle of temple bar area. Location: It was fairly easy to find on the southwest corner of parnell and oconnell. Upon going in, we were sort of lost, there was no one to greet us, but we weren't sure if we can just sit ourselves down. The host did arrive eventually (he was also the bartender) he offered us to go on the rooftop patio on the elevator. But it is a smoking area only, so we swiftly changed our minds and head back down. Food: We ordered the Irish stew and Guinness casserole. Both were 15.90 each. The irish stew had strong lamb taste, though not unbearable. The Guinness stew had 2 large scoops of mashed potatoes which, seemed like I was eating butter. Beef in the stew was very tender. And to my surprise, there were maybe 75% beef and 25% root vegetables. Drink: we weren't drinkers, so we had tap water. Surprisingly, it was lemon water and it was free (as a tourist, you can never tell when restaurant will charge you for water) Service: Our server came to ask us how our food was twice, did not offer to refill water though. Also, we were able to pay by contactless credit card. Overall: food is very hearty and filling. The first half of the meal was quite amazing. The second half afterwards, it felt like the meal all of a sudden became very very salty. If I had to do this again, I would not order 2 heavy dish. read more

Very good food and the nicest people to serve it! Our party of eight enjoyed lunch and dinner during our recent visit to Dublin. We dropped in for a cocktail but stayed for lunch. The seafood chowder is excellent and was a very good starter to my Parnell's Club Sandwich. Their fish and chips were quite good and with such a large portion, very shareable along with a salad or chowder. Another night for dinner, we had their Guinness and Beef stew, a very satisfying and filling meal. Everything we tried, including the Tuscan Pasta, Lasagna, and Irish Stew was good; again with large portions. Yes, there were a lot of tourists, including us. I stayed at a hotel near this location. I walked by it many times, but was eventually lured inside by the promise of a roof top bar. Even in the wet, cold weather of March in Dublin I still wanted to see what this was all about as roof top bars are one of the my favorite things. The downstairs area was full and we were directed upstairs, which was great since we were heading there anyhow. I would have liked to have perused a menu, but I didn't have the chance to and wasn't hungry anyhow. There is a very nice elevator to take you to and from the various floors if you need it, but there are also stairs if you are inclined. My boyfriend was recovering from a broken leg so this was ideal, especially since we were enjoying drinks on the rooftop and the bathroom was in the basement. The roof top is open on the top, but still enclosed so it kept out most of the cold. Sadly though it means there is not any kind of view to be seen, but it was still a cool place to hang out. The bartender was very friendly. I really liked the music being played. We did witness some other customers who appeared to be being yelled at for blocking the fire exit by staff members, but perhaps they had already been asked many times to avoid doing this. The middle floor looked less crowded than the roof and the downstairs and could have been an ideal place to get a drink if we got too cold upstairs. Located a few blocks away from Ilac Shopping Centre I met up with a friend in Dublin and we wanted to get some traditional Irish food Parnell happened to be pretty close to where we stayed so we took a walk and came across this Irish Pub. I remember the interior decoration to be really nice. It kinda looked like a fancy restaurant clashed with a pub. We had a bacon and cabbage dish and beef stew for dinner. Everything was delicious! For dessert we I had apple pie a la mode! I also got to try Irish Coffee for the first time! I thought it would taste like sweet coffee with creamer... boy was I wrong! *DUMB COMMENT:I had no idea that Irish coffee was an alcoholic drink. I took one sip and I was done with it, it was nasty! It was soooooo bitter!!!! It tasted like dead espresso shots! It will seriously give you the ultimate coffee breath. Irish coffee is splashed with whiskey in it which gives it that strong taste. First night in Ireland, and after a comfy cozy meal at a place in the Temple Bar area we wanted a place more low key, and closer to our hotel. We are still trying to shake the jet lag so we needed a place that was not blasting fun music, and a large crowd. Walking past this place we saw it was quiet so in we went. **key observation** it was a Sunday night, Friday's, and Saturday's they say they get very busy. The place is large. 3 stories, and plenty of seating, plus the smoking area is on the rooftop with its own bar (huge perk being smokers are hardy allowed to smoke on earth these days). It's open so make sure you bring a jacket. The main bar provides a full bar, and ample amount of beers. The staff is friendly, personable, and create good conversation. They won't rush you out at the end of the night like most bars do in the states. Plus they air the live American Football! read more

I kept walking past a chalkboard advertisement for this pub and finally went in on my last evening in Dublin. Next time I will visit my first evening! If you enjoy meeting local people while having a beer and wings and you find yourself in Dublin then go around the corner from the Parnell Statue to Parnell's Heritage Pub, see if Mark is behind the bar and if he is introduce yourself, order some wings and a beer and you are set. Simply put this is a cool pub with plenty of televisions playing sports and they show NFL football without commercials. The wings were excellent, the Jamison's was right on time and although I am not a Guinness person I was not about to leave Dublin without having one to chase my Jamison's' so I did. I would highly recommend the wings. I have ever had wings quite like Parnell's before. The people of Ireland make Dublin the happy special place that it is and if you want to see this personified go to Parnell's when Mark is behind the bar have a chat. As we use to say "What a major dude!" Mark is a wealth of information, can tell you the do's and don'ts and he is funny as all get out. I asked him if he would take a picture of me drinking a Guinness so I could send it to "Baby" and he said "I'll do better than that, come around the bar and I'll take a picture of you pouring." It must have been thickened with corn starch, and had the consistency of tapioca. What seafood was in it did not seem particularly fresh. The Irish stew was another big disappointment. The meat and vegetables were soft, but there was little flavour, and the stew overall was watery. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was quick. Amazing staff and yummy food! We landed in Dublin and got to our airbnb at 21:30 on a Wednesday night. We were starving so we found the Parnell here on Yelp! When we got there, we were told to order within ten minutes because the kitchen was closing. We all quickly ordered but our fourth friend wasn't even there yet. She got there about twenty minutes later and was fine with having no food. Our waiter insisted that she have something to eat and that he would even cook it himself if the kitchen was closed! He was incredibly kind. My friend and I had the beef Guinness stew and it was very hearty! I paired it with a cider as well! It needed a little salt but other than that, very good! We came here once last night, food was awesome, great service. We came back tonight and they told us they have a dress code and we can't come in. Boyfriend was wearing a hoodie but nothing ridiculous. We just wanted to have a few drinks at the bar and maybe an appetizer. A must visit restaurant in Dublin! This restaurant is centrally located and convenient with a very friendly staff. My sister and I came here three times during our stay (yes--THAT good!) The drinks, food, and dessert are all phenomenal. There's a heated rooftop section as well. There was one particular bartender who went out of his way to make our visit enjoyable. I liked the confortable sits and the quite salon with the muted tv, making possible to have a chat during the match. Downstairs and upstairs there are big screens to watch your favourite game.
