Keegan was very responsive upon receiving our online form and going back and forth upon my ideas for a cake for our baby shower. We requested a 6" 3 layer cake. We love strawberry shortcake but I hate chunky fruit so Keegan was able to swap out strawberry mousse to achieve a flavor and texture I liked. The cake had intricate details which were very similar to a design I sent for inspiration. I was a little confused upon pickup because I sent 3 inspiration photos, and the inspiration picture I sent and was told was achievable was not what we received, however the design was actually closer to one of the other inspiration photos. The cake was very pretty and intricately designed. The texture of the cake was very nice and moist and the mousse had a light strawberry flavor which complimented it well. I will say our two complaints are that the frosting tastes like straight shortening. I expected more of a whipped cream or buttercream flavor. It's also a very thick layer that does kind of steer you away from eating it where it doesn't taste very good and leaves our mouth feeling a bit greasy. Second, the green color is a weird pea green (somewhere between yellow and green), not sage green, but again, the cake was still beautiful and received many compliments. Overall, I would maybe return in the future. This cake cos about $110. I also make cakes myself as a side business, so I found the pricing fair, however was somewhat dissatisfied with the fact that we don't really enjoy eating the frosting which is usually my favorite part. The only way I would purchase another custom cake in the future is if I maybe tasted frostings prior to committing given the cost. read more

Stopped by on the way back from cape cod. Definitely was excited to try out this bakery since I've read great things about it. We got the plain croissant, a black sesame latte and a raspberry tart. The croissant was pretty good, the raspberry tart was fine but the black sesame latte, while tasty, didn't taste like black sesame at all. Overall, if I was back in town I'd stop by to try something else but would just opt for the normal coffee instead of paying extra for flavored ones. read more

I have never had pleasant service here. I missed breakfast (by 2 minutes) so ordered a ham and cheese croissant not only was it not warmed... it was actually cold and congealed. Eaaaaasy 5 stars for this cute little cafe and bakery! We stopped by on a rainy Sunday morning in late winter and the place was absolutely packed - it's clearly a favorite spot among locals. While the almond milk latte I ordered was lovely, it's allll about the pastries for me. Everything looks so beautiful it was difficult to order only two, but we landed on the croissant cinnamon roll and bananas foster croissant muffin (or morning bun?? I ordered it so quickly when I found it that I forgot the name). Both were amazing, and my husband swears up and down this was the best cinnamon roll he's ever had. This is definitely a 5 star place. Amazing homemade pastries and delicious well crafted lattes. I got a pumpkin spice latte with their homemade pumpkin sauce and it was delicious. One word cardamom. I love this spice and when we stopped in Keegan's they had a cardamom latte! It did not disappoint! They also had a cardamom cookie. They do have plenty of other homemade treats but I really enjoyed the cardamom! The cafe is adorable and has something to drink or eat for everyone. Was very excited about the croissant we got that had bacon inside. While the flavor was amazing, the bacon was completely raw inside. The bacon should've been cooked and then cooked in the croissant m and if would've been amazing! The cookie dough croissant was amazing however. They definitely know their pastry! I've been coming to Keegan's for snacks and coffee since moving to Kingston. They are consistently creating new and exciting things to try and maintaining the quality of old favorites, all at a level of perfection that is rare for any place. Keegan Kreations croissants (and many other pastries, both puff and non) are better than any other I've tasted, and this includes pastries we've had in Paris. We live an hour away from Keegan's location, but have still made handful trips down to get our fix. It spoils you for other puff pastries, really. Even my children can tell the difference between Keegan's pastries and others, and calls his, the best. Pre-ording online during the pandemic really assures me that I'm driving an hour to get exactly what I was hoping for and hope it actually stays past the pandemic. The Morning Bun is my favorite, but I gladly also love the classic Croissant, Almond Croissant, Matcha, Double Chocolate, Pecan Sticky Bun and Pistachio Rose. Everyone whom I've shared Keegan Kreations with all think his pastries are worth driving an hour for, or the reason to drive to Plymouth. His cakes are also delicate, airy, and light with wonderful ingredients. I have especially enjoyed his cakes with hazelnut and blueberries. I ordered a lavender vanilla oat milk latte and an apple pastry and my husband got the eggnog morning bun and drip coffee. The coffee was VERY hot and the latte was delicious.
