We were craving for ice cream and found this dessert place next to Tavern on the Wharf. There are a wide selection of desserts from cupcakes, shakes, ice cream, sundaes, chillers (mix of ice cream & mix-ins), cookies/brownies, cake pops, and cake cups. This review is mainly for the ice cream, we didn't get to try the cupcakes since we were so full from lunch. We ordered 2 chocolate sprinkles cones and vanilla cones. It was a bit disappointment when I got my cones. Usually, a swirl ice cream cone has ice cream swirls up around all the way to the top. but this cone only had like 2-3 swirls (it was pretty short). I forgot to take a photo since I was so excited about it. Sadly, the ice cream did not have any chocolate flavor at all, all I tasted was milk flavor. Yum! We have seen this place for years and never gone in. We finally went in and got 2 cupcakes. They were fluffy and moist and delicious. Well I don't think the Pilgrims brought over cupcakes but I can tell you that Cupcake Charlie's does cupcakes right. Just around the corner from the PIymouth Park, this cupcake place serves up a yummy array of cupcake flavors. One thing I hate is when cupcakes are TOO sweet and TOO rich. Fortunately here, the cupcakes are the perfect blend of sweetness. I got a box of cupcakes with flavors: Orange Creamsicle, Chocolate Overload, Chocolate Raspberry (filled with ganache), and Funfetti. All flavors were really really good and you can tell that the cupcakes are made fresh!! Only thing I would recommend is that you don't try to save the cupcakes like in the fridge, because they tend to get kind of hard. If anyone is ever in the area, then I would I recommend visiting here! Any kid (and adult) would enjoy cupcake from here!! read more

This review is based on just the cupcakes. Overall, I did enjoy the cupcakes here. However, I feel as though there is too much emphasis on the frosting and less on the cake itself. There is a good variety of flavors to select from. We got red velvet, carrot cake, and chocolate raspberry, but I feel as though the flavor is more so found in the frosting. The cake by itself is average and lacking some flavor on its own as if it's missing something. The ratio of frosting to cake could be measured a bit more proportionately (there's a LOT of frosting), which I'm sure some people love, but for me personally, it was a bit much. Overall, Cupcake Charlie's is a solid spot to grab a quick dessert, but I'll probably explore some other options next time I'm in Plymouth read more

This place is addictive, so it's probably good that they aren't so close to home. Although, I have tried to talk Mike into opening one in Foxboro at Patriot Place, but I haven't convinced him yet. So far, everything we have tried has been absolutely delicious. I think my husband's favorite is the Peanut Butter Pleasure. I haven't been able to pick a favorite yet. We are headed here again tomorrow, so maybe I'll have a favorite from whatever I get on that visit. The Hostess with the Mostess is oh so much better than an actual hostess cupcake.
