    Horrible company, do not do business with these people. Completely ruined my floors and left my…read moreproperty with damage! I have contacted them about the warranty and company failed to respond even after a certified letter. We have video and photo evidence that shows complete damage to our property, even after they attempted to resolve an issue. The Flooring Company sent out a cleaning crew and painter to attempt to resolve some issue, which ultimately failed. There are numerous soft spots throughout the floors, confirmed by numerous contractors after installation. We aren't asking for perfection but a professional job after spending over $25,000 for flooring. Your business practices we have experienced has been deceptive and unprofessional. UPDATE: Owner sent me an email asking to remove my bad review or he will pursue legal action. Watch out! Deceitful! The photos reflect the condition of which The Flooring Company LLC left my property in after they completed the job. I had to complain and push to get a cleaning crew which was ineffective (I had to spend $400 to get a cleaning crew to come out after The Flooring Company LLC's cleaning crew "cleaned" the property). Additionally, The Flooring Company LLC hired a painter to patch the damage to my walls, which did a poor job. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional company. I'm looking forward to The Flooring Company LLC to post the final images and videos of their flooring at my property--which would be downright embarrassing for their company.     I bought the tiles I wanted at Floor & Decor in Novi and the Flooring Co. installed them for me in…read more3 bedrooms and a hallway. I had 4 quotes total and these guys had the best price by far and they were rated highly on YELP. So I gave them the order. The workers worked neatly and efficiently. When i inspected the work after they left for the day, I found 3 minor issues to be fixed. I took pictures of them and sent them to the saleslady, Malak. The workers came back the next day and repaired them to my satisfaction. I wanted to rearrange some of the furniture and the workers were happy to so. I recommend the Flooring Co. for tile installation

    On April 15, I came into this store and placed a special order for tile. I was told by Tommy, whose…read morereal name is Haitham, that my order would arrive within five business days. After that time passed, I received another call saying the order still had not arrived. At that point, I requested to cancel the order and pick up my check because I could not continue waiting. Shortly after, Tommy (Haitham) contacted me again and promised he could get the order within 10 more days, so I agreed to continue waiting. After 22 total days of delays, excuses, and lack of communication, I became extremely frustrated. What disappointed me most was not just the delay itself, but how the situation was handled. After expressing my frustration through text messages, Tommy (Haitham), instead of having management or the owner professionally address the issue, involved people from my community who had absolutely nothing to do with this transaction. I started receiving calls regarding a private customer dispute. No business should allow an employee to involve outside individuals in a customer issue. That was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. I later spoke with the owner, Simon, and explained the entire situation. At the beginning of the call, I even asked him what the company's mission was, and he stated that it was to make customers happy and satisfied. Unfortunately, I can honestly say I left this experience feeling neither happy nor satisfied. The delays already caused enough stress and financial loss due to rent and project setbacks, but the employee behavior and management's acceptance of it made the experience even worse. For the record, I never used disrespectful language toward Tommy (Haitham). I simply asked Tommy (Haitham) to stop contacting and harassing me, and I expressed how frustrating and exhausting this situation had become after weeks of delays and broken promises. I do not recommend this business based on my experience. Very disappointing overall.

    We had a great experience with this company and will hire them again for future projects…read more There are too many obvious jokes to make about a company called Functional Floors, but yes--their floors were, in fact, functional. During the estimate, their representative was knowledgeable, friendly, and open to all our questions about the company and the work we needed. Scheduling was clear, and they fit us in faster than any other company we contacted. Their pricing was also very competitive compared to other local companies we'd reached out to. The work itself was solid. Our wood floors are at least 30 years old--probably older--so while they don't look brand new, they look *great*. The team worked consistently and made repairs where needed. If you expect decades‑old flooring to look brand‑new, you might be better off installing a completely new floor. My only hesitation was communication with the crew leader during the project. The job took about five days, and on the first day they arrived several hours late. The roads were snowy and unplowed, which is understandable, but there was no communication about the delay. I also never heard any updates as the project went on throughout the week unless I chased after them. A little transparency goes a long way. But hey--they offer functional flooring, not functional communication. Jokes aside, I'd hire them again.

Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward project turned into a very disappointing experience involving poor communication, questionable decisions made during the work and a finished product that required multiple attempts to fix. Throughout the project, decisions were made by the crew without asking us how we wanted things handled. Those decisions resulted in visible filler, patched areas, and other issues in our newly refinished floors that required them to come back out and attempt repairs. For a project of this size and cost, we expected much better attention to detail and communication. When we raised concerns, the crew lead who originally did the work was confrontational and not helpful in resolving the situation. Another lead eventually came out to review the issues, but by that point there was only so much that could realistically be done to fix the problems. Communication with the office was also frustrating. Emails frequently went unanswered and we had to call multiple times just to get responses. At times it felt like the focus was more on making the issue go away rather than properly addressing the quality of the work. We even reached out afterward about repairing a scratch made by our cleaners (which we offered to pay for), and they never followed up with us to schedule the repair. What makes this especially disappointing is that we had used Functional Floors before and had a great experience, which is why we hired them again and even recommended them to a friend (who also had a poor experience and lots of re-work). This project cost us over $15k and the level of workmanship and service fell well short of what we expected. Many of these issues likely could have been avoided with better communication, attention to detail, and a more professional approach to addressing customer concerns.
