I've been practicing yoga for over 25 years with a background in contemporary dance, and during that time I've experienced countless studios. Whenever I travel, one of the first things I do is find a local yoga studio because my practice is such an important part of my life. In the last decade, KEFI Yoga is one of only two studios I've found that truly exceeds my expectations. What sets KEFI apart is that it honors both the spiritual roots of yoga and the physical practice. Classes never feel rushed, transactional, or designed solely as exercise. There is a depth and authenticity here that can be hard to find. Every teacher I've taken class with has been knowledgeable, thoughtful, and skilled. I've attended many different classes and have yet to encounter an instructor I wouldn't happily return to. I also deeply appreciate the care and attention that Angel, the owner, has put into every aspect of the studio experience. It's clear that she genuinely understands what makes students feel welcome and cared for. From the slippers and complimentary locks for the lockers to the thoughtful restroom amenities like deodorant and hair ties, every detail has been considered. The lavender towels at the end of class and the tea blends offered at the entrance (not to mention the non-toxic products for sale) elevate the experience even further. First Impression: The moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by Angel's beautiful smile (warm, welcoming, and full of life). Right away, I noticed the self-care station stocked with essentials: Complimentary hibiscus tea, baskets of fresh fruit, coffee, and wellness items. I had forgotten my yoga mat that day, and without skipping a beat, Angel provided a complimentary mat, yoga towel, and sweat towel. Her generosity is off the charts! The Space: The studio feels easy, welcoming, and designed around connection, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. Students were chatting and greeting each other like family. Before class, Angel walked me into the room and showed me the warmer and cooler spots so I could choose what felt best for my body. The Class (Heated Flow with Angel): Angel opened class with a beautiful reminder: The only rule is to make conscious choices and use the breath as our anchor. It's not how deep we move into a pose, but how deeply we breathe within it. She reminded us to lengthen the exhale, explaining how a longer exhale helps reset the nervous system. From there, we moved through a creative breath-to-movement flow with arm-hold transitions I had never experienced before, and sequencing that demanded concentration while my body warmed up and opened. Throughout class, she sprinkled in humor, small pieces of wisdom, and little moments from daily life. At one point, she jokingly called out for cold towels, then laughed as she went to grab them herself. She's just a delight! Before closing with a long, juicy savasana, cool towels across our foreheads, I was lucky enough to receive a back massage. Afterward, everyone was invited into the lobby for tea and fruit. One of the reasons this experience resonated so deeply with me is something I often reflect on: Moving through embodied temples to learn how space, breath, and community shape consciousness. Throughout class, Angel gently reminded us to breathe, to let the breath guide our responses, not just here on the mat, but later when answering an email, returning a phone call, or navigating everyday moments. Her message was to carry that same presence with us, finding a little more kefi not only on our yoga mats, but in daily life. 2nd Class: I'm usually a yoga-only fan, but Ariyana Tykinski's Nighttime Heated Glow-Galates was a fun change of pace. Her energy is absolutely electric, and the glow-in-the-dark, high-energy space makes the whole class feel playful & alive. It's a music-driven workout with yoga sprinkled in, and her enthusiasm is completely contagious! Studio Vibe: Kind, welcoming, & joyful. The word kefi represents joy, enthusiasm, and passion, and that spirit is truly felt in this studio! Would I Return? Absolutely. Even though this studio isn't the closest to me, I'll happily make the drive often. The energy here is simply too good not to return to. Checked out the newly renovated Kefi studio. It was like a beautiful little maze full of surprises. Plenty of cubby space, plenty of bathrooms and even a shower! But the magic is in the practice. My favorite yoga studio in the south bay ! They offer a wide variety of classes. Great beginners classes and some fun hand stand workshops etc. I've came here a few times before the remodel and recently visited again after remodel. It is so different and nice well the studio was nice both times haha. I really enjoy the hot classes and hot pilates. Everyone is super nice and always free to answer any questions. The studios are huge but classes fill up pretty quickly, so always be on time to get your spot. At the end of class they offer cold towels and also have wipes to clean down your mat and any equipment used. Parking is okay its kind small but can always park in the lot in the back near the liquor store. 10/10 always recommend this place to people! Cant wait to book another class soon. read more

All of the instructors have a wealth of knowledge and you can tell that they enjoy teaching there. You truly feel like you are part of a community when you go to a Kefi class. I really enjoyed my experience with Kefi yoga trying their 3 classes for $30 deal. I just admittedly am not a big hot yoga/yoga person so this was my first experience and everyone was very lovely. My only two complaints would be that my very first class coming in I felt like they didn't give me any direction as a new person on what to grab and where to go. I just copied what everyone in the class grabbed (2 blocks, a kneeling pad etc). Second it was very hard to understand the direction from the beginning yoga instructor, she has a rather strong accent which made it hard for someone like me who doesn't do yoga very often to follow along. That aside she was a very sweet and attentive teacher and I enjoyed her personality a lot. If you love yoga I would highly recommend this place as it feels cozy and charming compared to other yoga places I have seen. read more

Okay, this will be a series for each instructor, buckle up!! ROXY She's hands-down the most versatile powerhouse instructor ever. I've been to her yoga sculpt, vinyasa, and yogalates classes and they are all exceptional. Music: she does an amazing job curating a setlist for class that's vibey, R&b, hip hop mixes that consistently pump me and many, many others up. It's super easy and fun to go to the beat with her flow! Instruction, modification and direction: she's so on point with this. She does an incredible Job offering modifications for anyone with lingering injuries or for newbies getting into the flow, while being mindful of anyone who's wanting a bit more of a challenge in a pose or sequence. It's clear and easy to follow as we get the most out of class! I and many regulars literally rearrange schedules to make sure we can get into her classes, and I've gotten amazing results feeling more toned and sculpted with all of her awesome strength building exercises that kick ass. She's a leader and works intentionally to build community, make everyone feel welcome, and to inspire change and transformation, while being so down to earth and approachable. 1,000% recommend. read more

My first yoga class here and it was hot yoga - 104 degrees and 40% humidity! Even though I was struggling in the beginning, I like how the instructor (Imari) knew when everyone needed to rest and also when they can push themselves a bit more. The affirmations and the conversations she had with us was very genuine and uplifting. Definitely want to try more classes in the future. I used to be a regular at Yogaworks in El Segundo years ago, but life happens as you know, and I fell out of my regular yoga practice. It's been years since I've gone to a yoga studio as a regular, and since pandemic, I've tried several times to get into a regular routine, but I haven't been inspired until I stepped in to Kefi Yoga. The welcoming energy hits you as soon as you walk through the doors. The studio owner Angel greeted me like an old friend, set me up with a loaner mat and mat towel, and down to yoga business we went. After so many years, the aches and discomfort that come along with old forgotten movements were there, but the heated room melted all of my inhibitions and I was able to find my old rhythm again. An hour later, filled with endorphins and a sense of accomplishment, Angel was waiting with electrolytes, hibiscus tea and her own home-roasted coffee. Being welcomed into the studio like an old friend felt like coming home. Not only is the studio very well maintained and impeccably clean, their staff is patient, knowledgeable and open to beginners and all levels. Their 11AM classes are unheated and go at a slower pace, which is great for those long work days where I have to conserve my energy, yet burn off stress and anxiety. Their weekend classes are perfect for me to challenge myself and try new things. I'm looking forward to sticking with this practice for a while!
