I recently attended a funeral service at Watson on Gifford Ave in Jersey City.The funeral home is…read morelocated in the West Side. It was within walking distance of the Journal Square PATH. I knew other attendees who drove there and were able to find street parking. The viewing room is smaller and gives a more intimate, warmer feel, but there was also an adjacent spill-over room where attendees could sit down. I thought that the funeral service was well done and that the people at Watson were respectful and empathetic to friends and family of the departed.

So we set a time and was told Mr. Morton's wife would be there, but the barber sat and waited for a half hour and nobody ever showed up. To make matters worse Mr. Morton told me they would line him up and they didn't. Then we wanted to get a belt to someone to complete his look and they even gave us the run around about that, it is sad that you are in the comfort business but you didn't provide any. Not only that but they tried to charge us $100 extra, saying an IT person had to be called to help with dismantling some pictures for the program. Where is your compassion and professionalism. My cousin didn't look anything like himself. They even had the date he died wrong on the program. Stay away from this funeral home I would never use them or recommend them!

They opened their beautiful funeral home for our use, and set up a Zoom so that many people who couldn't be there in person were still able to participate. They took care of so many things that we didn't know about, so we were able to focus on what was important. And they made sure we saved money, not buying anything we didn't need.
