Hate the location, liked the food. This place offers some unique flavors and spins on food that is NOT available elsewhere. Located in that seedy drug homeless strip mall DIRECTLY next to a liquor store, it felt uncomfortable parking my Lexus there... The restaurant was a good size with lots of seating and it didn't feel tight. Thankfully the TV wasn't blaring nor was there any music. The walk-in first impression isn't great, some younger girl watching but ZERO hello, welcome or anything. I initiated everything... no smile, her voice barely audible, that early chance to connect was entirely missed. At her direction I sat and immediately the menu was placed on the table and she asked me, "Are you ready to order?" Lol How robotic and disconnected! It was my FIRST time here. I asked for just water, no ice, straw or lemon, as usual and a HUGE glass of water filled to the BRIM was brought out. Zero awareness about a needless spill hazard from being filled too high, an uneven table bump lap dump or even having to manage walking it to the table as she herself had to contort just to not spill it. The only thing I want filled that high is a bowl of country GRAVY! But water??? Come on! THINK! The chips and small container of beans with cheese brought to the table was tasty and unique. I appreciated that it was NOT too salty, loved the simplicity/flavors. I DID order the ck tamale which I thought was special, however it was mostly masa and the ck inside was sparse and not very flavorful. What's different is also the texture of the masa which I assume was ground much finer. I liked that it came with a small lime slice. That really made it more enjoyable. Despite being mostly masa, I loved the more subtle flavor, the texture the fact that it was in a some type of plant leaf. Def would get again. The chiliques were most YUMMY and different than I'd had elsewhere. Despite the totally soggy chips and the overcooked eggs, it was delicious and also had some rice mixed with some peas. In total, a nicely filling meal despite looking smaller once it hit the table. I'd def order this again, and AGAIN! Despite all the misses with the first impression and front help, the restaurant was really clean and the food was delicious. There's ample room for even a group and you CAN actually hold a conversation without being BLARED out by overhyped music or an obnoxious TV! I'd have given more stars had the lower level expectations been met. To the staff of the restaurant, keep improving and becoming more professional in establishing BETTER 'First Impressions' with the public. Show some effort as it's low hanging fruit. First time having Honduras food. It's different but really good. It's a small shop, you'd definitely miss it if you're not on the look out for it. The parking situation was a bit weird. Not the greatest area. Service was good. Waitress gave good recommendations. Pupusa: not the best I've had but it's still good. Kind of on the drier side. (3.5/5) Sample platter: Honduras tamale--The masa is different but I like it. Seemed more like mashed potato texture. Not sure if that makes sense. The chicken filling was a tad bit dry though. But the flavors were good(3.5/5). Carne asada with plantains--this was my favorite. The meat was seasoned well. The creamy orange sauce they put on the was really good too. (4/5). Tacos dorados--this was alright. Not my favorite. It was also dry. Needs more flavor. (2/5) Catrachitas: my absolute favorite thing. I will come back for this alone. The crunchy tortilla, black beans, the Honduras style sour cream, the Honduras pico? I think that's what it is. Yum. Give me all of them. (5/5) Overall, it was good. These tamales are incredible the masa was perfectly moist and very flavorful, and wrapped in a fragrant banana leaf that makes all the difference. I had the a Pork Tamale and let me tell you, it was one of the most Unique I've ever had! The meat was soooooo flavorful!!!! You have to try them!!! They are delicious!!!! This spot is a hidden gem for authentic Honduran comfort food. The service was great. I was impressed that they have a store of which you can buy several different Honduras and Mexican Apparel and specialty foods. The Ambiance was welcoming and the location is right off the main road. All in all, great experience at Keidy's! Kind service, menus available in both Spanish and English, delicious salsas and toppings that are different than what you typically find in Fresno. Having Honduran cuisine as an option is awesome! Restaurant is spacious and very clean inside. We ordered the Quesabirria plate, which was under $12, came with three well-stuffed tacos, plenty of consommé, salsa and picked onions and beets that were delightfully spicy, the Chilaquiles with Chicharron, and a Pupusa con Queso, which was very obviously freshly made by hand and served piping hot. Really good! All in all, almost perfect. Only areas for improvement, the Chicharron was pretty dry, and the beans were very heavily salted. Would definitely return, and recommend. I look forward to going back and trying more from the Honduran menu. read more

The wait person was so helpful! I'd only had papusas in the past so I told her to recommend her favorites! I was feeling vegetarian so I tried the catrachitas, 3 mini tostadas with an amazing bean spread, topped with sour cream and a fantastic pico de gallo -- so good! Also tried the burrita, which was sort of like a papusa and stuffed with avocado, beans, cheese, plantains, and sour cream, -- there was also a thin slice of egg which wasn't in the menu description but it went well with the other ingredients. Place is nice and clean and there's a small section where you can purchase Honduran foods and snacks -- quite charming! I'd go again and just keep sampling off the menu. Saw this place come up on Yelp and decided to try it. Came on a Sunday at 2:00 and it was pretty crowded. Our party of four ordered all of the papusas. They were delicious, especially the chicharrón. We also had the e quesabirria tacos which were extremely juicy and flavorful. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The restaurant had a very family friendly feel to it, and you could tell there were a lot of regulars. We will definitely come back. read more

I was so exited when my Son's GF shared this business with me, she knows I'm always in search of Honduran food. This is a nice clean little restaurant, plenty of seating for dining in, they have a small wall with Honduran products for sale $$, I purchased a few things not knowing the price since nothing was priced. (EEEK) For done in I ordered a chicken Tamal to start with, I wouldn't recommend ordering it, $3.50 for the smallest tamal I've ever seen, little meat but it had a big chicken bone, owner said people ask for the bone to be placed in the Tamal? Anyways I didn't eat it because it was nothing like a Honduran Tamal, this was bland, pure masa with a few pieces of boiled veggies. I then ordered the pollo Chuco, now that's the winner! Closes thing you will get to trying authentic pollo Chuco, the fried green bananas paired well with the cabbage slaw and dressing, topped off with a cucumber pico. The chicken was nicely seasoned and fried, smothered in a red sauce, I then placed an order of Baliadas simples to go. The Baliadas are a 10/10 delicious! Home made flour tortillas filled with refried beans, sour cream, dried crumble cheese and scrambled egg. I'm exited to go back and try their Sopa de Jaiba that they prepare on the weekends. I highly recommend coming and trying the fried chicken it's not like any other chicken you have eaten, this is a little taste of Centro America. read more

We were in Fresno to look at cars when I got a craving for Chile Rellenos. Saw Keidy's on Yelp and made a beeline without reading the menu past burritos. Keidy's is a Honduran restaurant and Chile Rellenos were not on the menu but the owner said the kitchen could make it and wow was he right! My husband enjoyed his burrito and I my Chile Relleno but the star of the show for me were the beans which were crazy good. They were different than the thicker pinto bean refried bean recipe I'm used to. Looked like red beans that were blended well into a thin consistency with a rich flavor but not spicy.
