I've had pupusas before, but this is the first time trying other dishes at an El Salvador restaurant. I welcomed the opportunity to try something different. I was prepared for "similar to Mexican, yet different". The grilled beef steak(like carne asada) with oiled rice and salad was served with a small side plate of round thick tortilla -like bread. Sort of like a pupusa without a filling. I can tell there was corn meal in it. I ordered the hibiscus tea. It was tasty and refreshing. One of my dining companions ordered a dish that was as somewhat similar to a chile relleno, only filled with ground beef and without cheese. It was tasty and savory, but had no heat, no chiles. It was a little awkward for me, because had no expectations of what to expect. The meat was a little salty, and tasted good. The serving portions were of good size. I do like the heat of Mexican food, so I was a little disappointed the El Salvadoran food isn't. Next time, illstick to the pupusas. Service was attentive. read more

Came to town to celebrate a friend's birthday. My fiancé and I stopped in to have dinner before meeting up with friends at the casino. We tried 6 different pupusas (the best, chicken, pork, jalapeño, garlic, and zucchini), a side order of rice and beans, and two drinks (Jamaica and Ensalada). We loved it all, but our favorite was the chicken, garlic, and jalapeño! We loved it so much... we came back on Sunday with everyone else. If you want authentic Salvadoran food, you will find it here. We have been coming here for a while and it's time I review this hidden place. The menu has some of the most known Salvadoran dishes, we have had a few and it has always hit the spot. This last visit we noticed they updated the fascade of the restaurant and it looks beautiful with a design and color that truly represent El Salvador folklore. The space inside is cozy. My third time at Toti's, and better than the past two. This time my party of six - my wife and I, my daughter, husband and two boys were served by, (I believe), the owner. The well spoken great worker was able to answer and explain in English anything we asked. He worked hard and fast to accommodate us. The food was good, as before, but I must say that I have never eaten Salvadoran food elsewhere. The drinks - (Salvadoran style. Jamaica. Etc.) were all too sweet for me, but I'm sure that they would be perfect for most folks. My group seemed to enjoy the sweetness. The ambiance was good, exactly what I would expect to find in a village restaurant in El Salvador. I Ike eating ethnic food in as ethnic an atmosphere as I can find. This place fit the bill. Not to exaggerate but these are the best pupusas I've ever had. Their curtido is so good even by itself, when i have leftovers i can eat it with anything else that's how good it is. They're perfectly filled as well, edge to edge which is something so small but makes a huge difference from most pupuserias. This place was great! The food was authentic and tasty. We had a large group and the service was still really good, the staff were all friendly and helpful. This was nice since some of our party had never had Salvadoran food. The restaurant itself is not the most comfortable, and we moved tables to fit our party. Not all the tables were the same so it if that matters to you it will be a negative. For us the food quality out weighs any negatives. Really enjoyed a variety of the papusas. Favorite was the cheese and jalapeño, the bean and cheese. Wish they had one with beef. Their beans were really good, and the rice was okay. Food is not great it does not have authentic El Salvador's flavor and they are overpriced almost $5 for one is ridiculous and don't order any flavor that is not a revuelta when the write on the menu the best next to it believe them. The service here is great. It is very clean. I think these are the best Pupusas I have ever had and my friend's Mom used to make these all the time. So the cabbage and salsa were really good. I really enjoyed the cheese and garlic pupusa that one got devoured. I had a bite of the squash and cheese one and that one was just ok. I wouldn't order that one again. The food here is great...NOT MEXICAN!! Tucked away in a less busy part of Hanford. The location is a kind of IYKYK. The food is fresh and hot and definitely worth the wait. The horchata is a nutty and chocolate flavored drink which is really good. I ordered the papusas and they were ripping hot from the kitchen. Very happy to find this spot. There are not many Pupuserias in the Valley. This restaurant is located in downtown Hanford. Quaint little dining area but there is larger patio seating off to the side of the building. Seems like it is a family owned business. Service was great-very courteous and ensuring that you are comfortable and enjoying your meal. The ensalada which is a fruit salad drink was delicious and refreshing. Highly recommend. The pupusas had a good ratio of masa to cheese. We also ordered the chicken pastelitos- they are similar to empanadas, if you them, you would like these. Seen this place driving by several times and decided to finally take my friends there. I think it was ok since I've never had that type of food before to compare with. I likes the fact that I could eat outside on their alley patio which was shaded and cool during the summer weather. Definitely a plus! We were visiting family in Hanford and found this place while consulting Yelp. We had a great pupuseria at home but sadly they closed. So this was a treat to find. And - it's better than our old place! We ate in, though it looks like they do a lot of takeout. Wonderful drink options - we tried the horchata, Jamaica, and tamarindo at our table, and had several different pupusas as well as chicharrones and yucca, platanos con crema, and chicken pies. Everything was tasty. We definitely ordered too much. Next time I'd nix the chicken pies as we enjoyed the other items better. Their curtido and salsa were both excellent. Check this place out - or if you're at the Thursday night marketplace, they sell pupusas there too. TikTok hyping up pupusas , so of course I had to try some . This is a hidden little Salvadoran spot with a friendly staff . It was mine and my bf's first time trying Salvadoran food and it was pretty good . My bf really likes their pan con Gallina . Their tamale de Gallina was really good as well . I also ordered their empanadas (banana stuffed with custard) for dessert and we enjoyed it , not overly sweet which is how I like it . I knocked off a star because the pupusa to me was a bit greasy and so cheesy that I couldn't find or really taste the meats that I chose (chorizo and chicharron) , just wished it had more meat but I'll be back to try other stuff on the menu . read more

Ok for starters this is definitely a place you want to Call in for a to go order Being that the Pupusa's are made to order that is a slow process which is very understandable but that is the only negative about this for myself because I had somewhere to be ...30 minutes for 5 pupusa's on a weekday with no one inside was a bit much .... The service was poor. My teenage daughter ordered us both cheese popusas and one horchata for her. The male waiter told her that it was different not like the Mexican horchata however, she wanted to try it so she ordered it. She tried the horchata but did not like it. I asked him if she could get a water instead because she didn't like it. In a rude tone he stated "I told her it wasn't the same". I apologized and and proceeded to tell him that the drink had a strong herbal taste and she didn't like it and wasn't going to be able drink it. In an argumentative tone, he stated "well she knew". I politely asked for a water and tried giving the horchata back but he continued to argue that she knew it was different. I held it out and said "I'm sorry she didn't like it" and told him I would pay for the water instead but I wasn't going to pay for the horchata if she didn't like it and wasn't going to drink it. He took it back and gave her a bottle water. Then we were only given one popusa instead of 2. The waiter went outside so I clarified with the cook that we ordered 2. She smiled and was very nice and said she would get right out. The waiter came back to our table with only the popusa and not the curtido and said "you want another one". I clarified with him we had ordered 2 and again he was rude and said that my daughter only ordered one. At this point, I didn't want to comment because he was being argumentative. We didn't feel comfortable staying much longer so I went up to pay for the bill. I didn't see the bill before hand. He immediately rang me up, didn't ask me how everything was like other restaurants and just gave me the receipt to sign. When I went to sign the receipt, I noticed he charged me for the horchata my daughter didn't drink and the water. This waiter (not sure if he is owner) clearly doesn't know how to provide exceptional customer service to assure that the customers are not only happy with the service but also the food. Unfortunately the whole experience was bad. After he argued about the drink, my daughter immediately commented on how rude he was being. We both felt uncomfortable by his demeanor and unprofessionalism. When we left, my daughter said she didn't like being there "because he was mean". I don't think he should be waiting on customers due to his lack of hospitality. It was my daughters first time there and it was my second and last time going to this restaurant. We will never return and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone we know. read more

Was passing through Hanford and stopped at this place for lunch. The food was hot and fresh and the gentleman who served us was very nice. We ordered a chicken tamale, sweet corn tamale, bean and cheese pupusa, and a bean and cheese with pork pupusa. The cabbage topping was amazing, but the tomato salsa was a little bland. I didn't like the horchata, I'm used to horchata from Mexican places so maybe Salvadoran recipe is different. I would definitely eat here again! read more
