Her claim that I was "going through her personal belongings behind the counter" is completely ridiculous and utterly false. The items in question were sitting directly ON TOP of the main sales counter, thrown into a disorganized pile in plain view of anyone entering the shop. If these were truly your "personal, not-for-sale belongings," why on earth were they left piled up on a public retail counter? This is a desperate, made-up excuse to cover up your hostile and completely unprofessional behavior. Furthermore, you did not "politely explain" anything. You repeatedly snapped a single word at me: "NO!" - treating me like a dog that had wandered into your yard rather than a human being and a customer. The proprietors are Debbie and Jim. Their curation is amazing. Before we even entered the store, they had good music (Ray Charles) playing at appropriate volume from high quality concealed speakers. More about that in a minute. While they don't have as much guy-stuff as they do girl-stuff, they have ten times as much guy stuff as any other five antique shops I've been in. Before we talked to Debbie about whether it was OK to take pictures (it is OK), I was sneaking photos on my phone where I couldn't be seen. If you want to outfit the best man cave ever, this is the place to shop. Which brings me back to the music. Jim does clever retrofitting of radios and other pieces, putting high quality Bluetooth-capable speakers in them. So there is pleasant music throughout the shop and it's hard to tell where it's coming from. The antiques literally sing. I had a huge grin when I found the first one. I KNOW there's music coming from this wall, but from where...? They should do a lot of these and make them easily discoverable by other than curious audiophiles. There's two floors to explore in this absolutely huge building and they've got just about anything you can think of. During my most recent visit, I got a beautiful new bread basket, a 1969 Life magazine detailing the moon landing, and some new Christmas decorations. It's all over the place, as any good antique shop should be. The woman at the counter (I presume she is the owner) is super friendly too. They seem to run a fair amount of sales, so you might find something old you love at the perfect price. Have fun, take your time, and check this shop out!
